Could DISH be bluffing about its network plans?

Ergan is a shrewd player. He may sit pat or he could be up to something.

Financial analysts think that Dish Network may be bluffing about its intentions to fully build out a nationwide LTE Advanced network, and that the satellite company may be instead using that as a negotiating tactic to increase the value of its spectrum holdings.

I was thinking about that before, but it makes a lot of sense for them to build out a network and be able to offer an all dish package of TV, voip and internet to compete with cable companies

Now that would be a good selling point for them if they did that. And if it was cheap enough, I would consider signing up for it.

They could also partner with a cellphone provider like Sprint with a network hosting deal similar to LS2 and have one of the conditions be that they can bundle cell coverage in with the TV, home phone and internet.

Then they could compete with the Twin Bells and maybe even drive prices down.

If some of the rumors are still true, a hosting agreement with either Sprint or T-Mobile would be huge for either, preferably Sprint which would help make up for the LS2 loss.

I know I would love that. But I won't trust Charlie until the ink is dry and the first payment has been delivered. Or cashed, actually.
