Samsung Chromebook 3G XE303C12

The third generation $329 Samsung Chromebook 3G includes 100 MB/mo VZW EV-DO data and 12 Gogo in flight Wi-Fi passes (both usable over the next two years). Any interest?

Not really interested in the 3G version with Verizon. The wifi on the other hand is nice and I even convinced my nieces to get it.

Even the $249 Wi-Fi only version comes with the 12 free Gogo in flight Wi-Fi passes -- not too shabby if you fly on partner airlines quite a bit.

True. I might get one just for the heck of it. If it connects to my Plugable Displaylink USB connectors then I can use additional monitors with it like I do with the smaller Dell laptop I have. Lord knows it will be lighter than the dell.

I'm out. CNET said it could not handle a dozen browser tabs at once.

I thought of you when I read that. Ha.

I'm out. CNET said it could not handle a dozen browser tabs at once.

Plus, reloading your typical 27 browser tabs would eat up your included VZW EV-DO 100 MB/mo quota in one fell swoop.

I wonder if I can put my Samsung purchases as a tax deduction. Note 1, Note 10.1, Chromebook and soon the Note 2. lol

Just get Robert to file the paperwork for S4GRU as a tax exempt 501©(3) educational institution...

I think I'll order one once they're actually out (vs. just preordering). WiFi-only version though; getting the 3G edition would be a step back for me connectivity-wise.

If the system chokes on anything I throw at it performance-wise, I can always pop open LogMeIn and use that, right?

This would actually be my second Chromebok. Unfortunately the mSATA cable on my Cr-48 died. Otherwise I'd still have a Chromebook, albeit one running Windows 8.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and coule potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
