Network Vision/LTE - Miami/West Palm Market

Mondays In Flames

Recommended Posts

hopefully next week we will see more expansion =D and tomorrow we will get updated on how many completed sites got done [if you're a sponsor]

I agree. I don't think this storm is damaging any sites. I assume only today was lost because of weather conditions. Hopefully no drastic delays.

Getting the iPhone 5 on Monday and will be sharing my speed test once I get it. According to sensorly there should be a strong lte signal in my house, and hopefully deployment continues at a quick pace. Btw incredibly fast shipment; I placed the order on 10/24 and will be here by Monday.

Ok so today I was on the Palmetto around the Flagler exit where there's a strong LTE signal.

I already updated my GS3 to the latest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean which supposedly has LTE improvements. In the car a friend of mine had the GS3 but without the update so when I was passing through the area I had both phones in my hand and I saw mine switch to 4G by itself (which was never the case, I always had to toggle airplane mode), however, the other GS3 without the update did not switch to 4G until I toggled the airplane mode. So i guess there indeed were LTE improvements on the latest update.

Moreover I took a screenshot of the LTE signal in the LTE Engineering screen showing a -92 dbm RSRP which I guess it's a very good LTE signal and I also did a speedtest but again it was very sucky. I know, everything is still in progress, im just reporting.

It almost looks like they are connected to legacy backhaul temporarily for testing. If you see that happen again, switch to 3G and see if you get a similar speed.

Glad the JB update fixed your LTE connection issues. Today ill be going to the Redlands down south for my sisters baby shower. I'm taking the turnpike and ill be testing those LTE areas that have appeared on the sensorly map. Will post screen shots later.

Alright will do.

Right now I'm in Coconut Grove and there's no LTE here but I did a speed test over 3G and this is the first time I got over 2mbps over 3G. Awesome!

I'll be content if we can get those 3G speeds everywhere in Miami LOL

By the way i drove by this tower today from work an noticed some big white pannels onthe tower. I got some pics. In the dim piture if u look close there is a modem behind the pannel all the way on the left. I dont know if it has the equipment for lte on it yet maybe some one can help me out in these pics. Cause i didn't pick up lte being near the tower.
