"You can invite me back here in two years -- our network will be ranked No. 1 or No. 2," Claure said Wednesday at Recode's Code Conference in Rancho Palos Verde, Calif. He later clarified that he meant No. 1 or 2 in the major markets. (May 27, 2015)

“The truth of the matter is we have the worst network quality scores in the industry,” Claure, who is now Sprint’s executive chair, told the judge.
“It was getting really, really hard to sell [service] because new customers went home, tested their phone, and then realized they had coverage gaps,” Claure said about Sprint’s problems going back to 2017. “So the amount of returns started skyrocketing, and therefore, employees no longer wanted to work for Sprint. And then the churn of employees or salespeople started to skyrocket and so that became a big problem."
“The quality of our network was four times worse than Verizon, half of T-Mobile and a little less than half of AT&T,” Claure added. (February 12, 2020)

  1. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/05/att-announces-7-monthly-add-on-fee-for-turbo-5g-speeds/ Hopefully we don't ever see T-Mobile do something like this. Based on how I was treated with my Credit Limit, it's definitely not the same company it was before the merger, and it's entirely possible they'd try it.
  2. https://www.phonearena.com/news/t-mobile-older-rate-plan-prices-june_id157821 We're on Sprint Max for our seven phone/two Apple Watch (with Cellular) family plan... Because it doesn't make sense to switch to anything else, especially if we can't even finance all of our devices. Some of you may recall that T-Mobile suddenly cut our credit limit to $1,500 (which is barely more than one iPhone 15 Pro) with no notice at all. I escalated it to the Office of the CEO and was told to pound sand, even though I have 800+ Credit as a longtime customer and was suddenly being treated as a deadbeat. I ultimately upgraded my three iPhone lines directly through Apple and they're Unlocked. I haven't bothered to check on whether my Credit Limit has updated, but I don't plan on upgrading them through T-Mobile again. I guess we'll find out if "Sprint Max" counts as "older" soon enough.

  4. This being roughly six months later, Dish delivered the goods, but guess what? The results are under wraps because Dish considers the information to be proprietary and could result in “substantial competitive harm” if disclosed. LMAO. What a joke.

  8. Is T-Mobile still actively using it now? If T-Mobile keeps it, could it use it for 5G or would it be relegated to LTE?
  9. https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/dish-says-theres-zero-chance-it-will-buy-t-mobiles-800-mhz-spectrum Dish is throwing in the towel on its agreement to purchase all of T-Mobile’s 800 MHz spectrum licenses for $3.59 billion. In an SEC filing, Dish parent company EchoStar revealed that it is unable to get the financing necessary to pay T-Mobile for the 800 MHz spectrum licenses by the April 1 deadline. So much for that....

  12. Still no numbers from AT&T and T-Mobile. Bummer. Maybe they don't want to compete with Verizon's announced results? mmWave is hard to beat for these kinds of deployments. Add on the C-Band and Verizon had 160 MHz of 5G devoted to the Stadium. Thoughts on what happened here?
  13. https://stadiumtechreport.com/feature/did-verizon-push-super-bowl-attendees-to-use-5g-instead-of-wi-fi/ Interesting. I still don't see any numbers for T-Mobile and AT&T.
