Still in testing?

I am in Sprint Turbo area, at first B41 was slow and connected only when you step out side of the house. Well i enjoy B41 in my house and its faster than FIOS package i have.

My old GS2 used to be able to receive wimax inside my house at about 2-4 Mbps. My GS5 is only able to receive band 41 if I walk out to the street. So far I've been dissappointed with B41 coverage here in Houston overall. Speeds seem to degrade a lot faster than Band 25/26 as well. I hope some of this can be fixed with optimizations and the 8T8R radio heads. Edited by greenbastard

In my experience, the signal degrades faster on Band 41 (which is to be expected) but speeds stay relatively high although the signal is low. By -120dbm, speeds are at 6-10 Mbps which is about the average on Sprint PCS in my area with a strong signal.

I know my tower still needs some tweaking before it is fully optimized. B26 only seems to be slightly stronger than B25 and Band 41 is also covering less real estate than wimax did. I can't get anything better than -87 dbm on B41 even if im right next to the tower. All in all, I'm looking forward to the deployment of 8T8R radios.

    • So, in summary, here are the options I tested: T-Mobile intl roaming - LTE on SoftBank, routes back to the US (~220ms to 4.2.2.4) IIJ physical SIM - LTE on NTT, local routing Airalo - LTE on SoftBank and KDDI (seems to prefer SoftBank), routed through Singapore (SingTel) Ubigi - 5G on NTT, routed through Singapore (Transatel) US Mobile East Asia roaming - 5G on SoftBank, routed through Singapore (Club SIM) Saily - 5G on NTT, routed through Hong Kong (Truphone)...seems to be poorer routing my1010 - LTE on SoftBank and KDDI (seems to prefer KDDI), routed through Taiwan (Chunghwa Telecom) I wouldn't buy up on the T-Mobile international roaming, but it's a solid fallback. If you have the US Mobile roaming eSIM that's a great option. Otherwise Ubigi, Airalo, or my1010 are all solid options, so get whatever's cheapest. I wouldn't bother trying to find a physical SIM from IIJ...the Japanese IP is nice but there's enough WiFi that you can get a Japanese IP enough for whatever you need, and eSIM flexibility is great (IIJ as eSIM but seems a bit more involved to get it to work).
