Definitions:

  • Status:  This is the current deployment state of the market.  A full build site is a site that will receive all equipment (including LTE) at initial deployment.  A GMO site is a Ground Mount Site, which initially only goes live with 3G and may not have LTE for some time.  In most Third and Fourth Round markets, GMO sites were started 6-12 months early.
  • NV Sites Accepted: This is the percentage of sites in the market that have have received any Network Vision upgrades.  This is within the entire market boundaries, not just the named city.  Markets often extend far out past the suburbs and include rural communities up to a hundred miles or more away.
  • LTE Sites Accepted: This is the percentage of sites in the market that have have received LTE upgrades.  This is within the entire market boundaries, not just the named city.  Markets often extend far out past the suburbs and include rural communities up to a hundred miles or more away.
  • Original Schedule Completion: This is the month or quarter that the original baseline schedule had planned for all sites to be Network Vision converted within the market.
  • LTE Launched: This is the month Sprint officially launched LTE service in the market. A market launch is usually just a press release, as Sprint has completed sites and made them active well before launch.
  • Anticipated LTE Launch: This is an estimate by S4GRU based on the current production rate of a market and how LTE coverage is filling out.
  • Current Production Rate Completion: This metric is often misunderstood.  This is not when the market will be complete.  It is more a measurement of how fast they are working this month in a specific market.  Production rates can vary wildly from one month to the next.  This date essentially says when the market is expected to be 100% complete with all Network Vision upgrades, based on their current rate of production in that market. Note this has nothing to do with a market having 100% coverage. 100% coverage typically occurs around 50%-60% completion. Note that even Verizon does not have any markets with 100% site conversion.
