Either price is a total rip off, used nexus 5's in mint condition are still pulling $300 on ebay.
The prices on Ebay went up after the Nexus 6 announcement.
Assuming the demand for them increased after people realized that the next Nexus was going to 6".
I picked mine up a couple weeks prior to the N6 announcement in new condition for $210. Now you'll be lucky to get it for $275.

Off the Lollipop topic for a question:
I've picked up some b26 lately in my office where my phone would normally drop b25 and hang on to 3G. I can't get it without cycling airplane mode though. It goes, b25 to dropping to 3G.
It will hold the b26 around - 113dbm. But only as long as I'm using it. If it sits idle on b26, it drops back to 3g, even if I haven't moved or the signal hasn't gotten back worse.
The other problem is that once I drop from b26 down to 3G that the 3G signal is dead. It's unusable, even though it reads that it's active.
Thoughts?

So far so good. Still learning how a few things work. The silent and priority certainly take a minute to figure out.
-
my understanding is that this would just not give me the notification (which is not something i'm looking to do) - I just down't want the vibrate or sound.
This had some good user info regarding the "priority" settings... http://forums.androidcentral.com/android-5-0-lollipop/462777-no-more-silent-mode.html
Of course, I've yet to mess with it myself, but I'll know more tonight after I download the OTA.

Id say yes
my top 5 'issues' in no order
1. full blown silent removed from ringer rocker
2. Maps (yes google maps) not tracking me correctly when navigating
3. Time running on battery (now shows just a date on a graph - not an hour figure) is gone from the battery area of settings
4. The scrolling ticker for an incoming text message is gone - now its a persistent pop up that has to be swiped away
5. tapping outside of the quick settings drop down doesn't consistently work
for the issue with "silent" option being removed, it seems they want you to use the new "priority" settings. From what I'm reading you have to go into the settings and decide which apps/notifications you want.

it knows my location - but doesn't follow me exactly when i'm moving. I have to tap resume - otherwise it leaves my marker where I was when i pressed 'start navigating' this is a bug that may have already been fixed since i last used navigation (thursday)
I'm not sure if i've got the wifi battery bug - but i don't think so.
I think I'm going to make the jump today when I get home.
I'll give it a day or two to figure out if I'm having battery issues and if so I'll do a factory reset or wipe cache to see if it helps.

yeah, the silent mode being removed boggles my mind.
GPS could be an issue. Is it not pinpointing your location correctly and causing navigation to be off? Cause that's a big problem if GPS isn't working right.
Did you get the battery draining wifi bug?
-
I've. seen a solid 5 bugs or removed features since going to 5.0
Just got the OTA notification for 5.0.
Is it worth the jump considering a few of the bugs at this point?

Definitely prefer many aspects of android to iOS.
But from a hardware perspective, the iPhone is hands down better than any android phone I've played with.
This iphone has been the only one that has done it for me looks/design wise.
However, I don't think I could ever deal with the apple/iOs system.
That being said, what about the N6 turned you off?
-
So after reading the bad reviews on the Nexus 6 I got a iPhone 6 Plus.
A few things to note:
Pros:
- TouchID is awesome
- The display is awesome
- The battery life is awesome
- The build quality is awesome
- It's ability to shift between bands and pick up LTE is awesome
Cons:
- Notifications suck.
- The vibrate motor is loud as hell.
I am tempted to return the 6 Plus to the Sprint store and get a nexus 6. Will the Nexus 6 be unlocked from Sprint to work on T-mobile? Anyone know?
So do those 2 cons out weight the pros for you? Or do you just prefer Android that much?
-
The Hangouts app still crashes for me when I try to make a video call.
-
Boy would this phone be nice. Yeah, we're looking at you Sprint.

What is network load balancing doing then if it's not balancing the 3 LTE bands out among users? B25 is the most used and our handsets camp out on it the majority of the time, despite a faster, better connection with one of the other bands.

that did it, thanks! Now I'll just wait for the OTA, lol. I swear I used to be smarter with computers than this.... I think at some point over the last 5-6 years, this stuff just passed me by.

ok, giving this a try now.
-
yeah, didn't work... maybe just factory reset?
google play services errors and everything popping up, along with no service.
-
well, this didn't work out so well. I got into fastboot somehow and accidentally hit wipe cache, then panicked and shut down the phone real quick because that wasn't what I meant to hit.
Upon rebooting my phone it came back on but with no service and showing no provider. It wouldn't let me get it and update prl or anything because under 'about phone' it was showing no provider/no service.
someone help me get back to normal and I'll just wait for the OTA, lol
-
These instructions are doing a good job of making me feel dumb, lol. I'm confused just trying to figure out how to download the sdk and fastboot tool

When trying to flash the OTA from TWRP it gave me an error. I have done it this way with kitkat. With this update I had to put the stock recovery on and then ADB sideload the OTA zip to not have it error out.
This is the OTA zip for anyone completely stock and not wanting to wait for the OTA. It does not wipe data but you do have to use ADB to sideload it.
Is there a step by step guide for how to use this somewhere?

Hmm that doesn't seem too good. Lol
Sent from my LG-LS980
Battery life was never great on the n5. All the reports of people running developer previews of L pointed towards a 30% increase in battery life. Any time you take a big OS update, I think it takes time to get settled in. I would imagine it will improve in the next couple days.

Anybody noticing certain apps or features that won't work on L?
I want to be sure all my apps and features are good if I flash it for L
-
does unlocking the bootloader wipe my device? never done it this way before, always waited for the OTA.
-
anybody with any word on the expected OTA update today for 5.0 Lollipop?
-
Folks on Android Central were reporting that when they asked Google they were being told "in the coming weeks" they would get the update for N5.
Thought Google changed course on that and was saying everyone would get it on 11/3?
PSA: Sprint gives you more $$ for a T-Mobile Nexus 5, than a Sprint Nexus 5.
