From reading today, this certainly seems like it might be an ecfb issue. People are reporting no issues when putting the device into CDMA mode, basically making it 3G only. But as soon as you switch back to 4G the failed texts and dropped calls start again. The official Sprint community forum is filled with people complaining about voice connectivity issues with the S6 and S6E. How many people here are affected by this Sprint issue? Looking over other carriers' forums, they don't seem to have any voice issues.

What's odd is this problem didn't seem to start for me until a few days ago. I don't remember having failed texts and dropped calls the first several days.
What do you think AJ and other network gurus (lol)?

The phone comes preset on Automatic, at least mine was, so I wasn't sure. That's what I use too.

Also, I have noticed that I do have a tendency to drop calls when driving and the handset switches from tower to tower. Sometimes just gets choppy, but others it will drop.
Didn't notice it initially because I don't talk alot when I drive.
Also, just started having texts fail at going through occasionally. They'll usually go through immediately on retry, which is odd too.

What network setting do you guys have yours on? I have mine on LTE/CDMA - is that right?

Ditto, most of the major retailers give you 2 weeks from purchase for return, also if it's defective I'm sure they'll replace it.No issues here with lag or any other issues you are currently experiencing but let me ask you, is there any reason you called samsung directly instead of going back to the point of sale? Of course this is assuming you bought device for sprint.

That'd make sense if 95 pct of s6 owners thought they were garbage. Not everyone who owned a Peugeot had a problem with it. Those 5% thought their cars were spiffy. 95% thought they were lemons. Were the 5% wrong? LOL

Anybody who was paying attention to s4gru could have predicted that it was going to perform slightly worse than the leaders. -5db is about what I've seen and others reported. If this makes it a "lemon", then I have to wonder why someone on this forum would have bought it, knowing it would not perform as well.I cannot speak for them, but I believe that some are calling it a "lemon" not only because of the bugs but also because of the step backward in raw RF performance.
AJ
Most people seem to be referring to the dropped calls and some other issues.
-
People calling it a lemon? C'mon man.
It definitely seems like there's a small percentage of buggy handsets out there, but many of us that have it are not experiencing dropped calls and bad battery life.

Some of the rotation issues have also been with Verizon users.Oh man, so many issues for lots of S6 owners. Making Sprint look really bad. Hope they come up with a fix asap.
As for me, no more issues so far after that "voice refresh update."

Got my wife set up with a regular s6 on the $5 lease special today. Coming from a completely shattered screen s5, she's happy.

Some websites and blogs finally picking up on the screen rotation issue. http://www.droid-life.com/2015/04/15/galaxy-s6-edge-units-are-having-all-sorts-of-auto-rotate-issues/
Hopefully Samsung gets on the ball and pushes out a fix.

Got my replacement, not gonna lie, a little tentative to hit the download button on the update that is waiting.
-
At the Sprint Store now, hopefully they make this painless and just make a quick swap for a new device.
Also, have just noticed a dead pixel as well.
-
I haven't had dropped calls.Yes, well aware. I know another person mentioned having the same issue. But is there anyone that can say they are not getting dropped calls?

Just email Kevin Barry of Nova Launcher and ask him. He's very responsive and nice.
Do you have his email? PM it to me?
-
just switch to the google now launcher. million times better!
For battery life, I actually sit in battery saver mode often - seems to really improve battery life without reducing performance that much.
I'll probably stick with the regular launcher for now. I'm hoping dev's like Nova and others do some cool themes that utilize the edges soon.

So i havent dug into this real well, but i cant seem to figure out how to get rid of Flipboard. I dont even see the app listed. Its set up to open with swipe left from the homescreen, something i used to do with google now.
-
Went ahead and did a factory reset this morning. Didnt help the screen rotation issue. Taking mine in for an exchange today when im off work.I just ran the update and I am not experiencing any rotation issues thus far.
-
I'm not one to really gauge battery life, but the quick charge works as advertised and wireless charging is great too. Both valuable excellent features.
-
Going to try tonight and then exchange it tomorrow at the Sprint store if it's still an issue.Yeah, I read through that thread, don't remember anyone saying if they did a hard reset or not.
-
The film on the camera lens actually has a hole over the view lens. There is also one over the flash/heart rate monitor. Other than that, just a film sleeve around the device.Saw this on Droid Life, but thought I'd post here as some of your are new to Samsung phones, veterans need not listen.
Remember that there is hard-to-see plastic covering on your camera lens and on your heart rate sensor (plus probably 100 other places on the S6, I haven't actually unboxed one myself). Classic Samsung.
-
Theres a decent thread on it at XDA. One guy referencing what he was told at the Sprint store. Definitely seems to be an odd issue affecting only certain Samsung / Sprint users.
-
From what I gather, it's not an every device issue. I haven't tried it, but others did and it didn't help.Have you hard reset the device and if you did, did that fix the screen rotation issue? I got my gold edge today and haven't turned it on yet just wanted to know if I should take the ota or not.

This is pretty low light.

This is bad on Sprint. How do you not test this phone more extensively with your network? Wonder how long til they have an update...
Any guesses as to the issue? Just a radio firmware issue?
