I think this is all googles doing. i dont see a way to integrate with sprint voicemail directly so you would have to have google voice handle voicemails.
Previously, integrating google voice with your sprint number was a disaster.
-
Flashing the newest software and being unrooted and such did nto fix my camera.
Also, I found something sweet...the Voicemail tab within the native dialer now works for those who use google voice to handle voicemail! FINALLY decent visual voicemail works again. You just have to enable it within the google voice app to show voicemails in the dialer tab. This is huge to me.
That is big, amazing it took sprint/google this long to get VM working properly.
Really considering picking one of these up at $350. Has the hangouts/SMS integration been trouble free for everyone?
What issues have you guys been encountering that you have been disappointed with?
-
According to Signal Check Pro, it's band 41.
Crazy.
Also, my phone drops LTE at around -117 or so, don't think I've ever seen it hold on as low as -122
-
You sure that's b41? The documented issues with b41 are pretty established.Interesting. I just did a speed test with my GS6 on B41 at -112 here and I got a ping of 30ms with speeds of 43/7 Mbps. So for me, -111 is more than enough. Now for me, around -122 is where it starts to be useless.
My b41 at those levels is almost unusable.

Moved recently and in the last week or so my phone has suddenly decided it likes the b41 at -111 or worse (useless signal on this phone) better than it does the b26 at -107 (which is usable).
This phone, with its poor b41 performance as well as bad battery life due to ram management, has been a disappointment.

I think I did one a couple months back, cant remember when exactly.

Ha, I wish mine was that good. And I've shut off Google now and some other things. After 5.1.1 OI1, my SOT got worse. It went from about 4 & 1/2 hrs to 3 & 1/2 hrs. I'm hoping 6.0 Marshmallow will bring back the battery life.

I'm still getting just awful battery life out of my s6 edge.
I purposely kept it off the charger today to see. I'm at 14 pct right now with only 1 hr 20 min of screen on time.
Anybody else seeing battery life this poor?

Sweet. I'll be keeping an eye on the reviews. I may dump off this s6edge and pick one up.Battery life? Exceptional coming from a Nexus 5. Doing the same usage for 2 hour SOT I went from 100 to 50sh in 1 hour and with 5x it's 100 to 80ish. Ended the day with about 3 hour SOT and ~40% battery left.
Signal? Fan fucking tastic on 25 / 26. Easily 5-6 dBm better than N5 which puts it as one of the stronger performers (as expected). Band 41 is about the same as the G4 which is about average.
Screen is very decent and bright. I basically have it almost to the minimum brightness because of how bright it is.
Mainly because I'm getting the itch for a new one but I can always make some more excuses too.

So, what are some of the initial thoughts you guys have?
Battery life?
Signal reception?
Screen?

Eh, that post only mentioned s6 and note5. I agree that it could be other issues, but I'd like to see some proof of that, it's a Samsung appShows that other devices are affected. Ergo, vis-a-vis, concordantly, not Samsung issue.

I see that post but I'm not sure how a Sprint forum post makes this a Sprint problem. It may be true, but a random user posting in sprints community forum doesn't make it so.http://sprint.r.delivery.net/r/c/r?2.1.GT.2Z2.1d1cBD.GbSfAW..N.2QtlM.8AES.bW89MQ%5f%5fCaSWFOL0

That's odd. Cause there is no Sprint app available to download for voice-mail.It's not. It's doing the same thing on MotoX and others.

It is Samsung's app. Sprint doesn't have a voice-mail app that I've ever seen.

I can see that being a benefit possibly, if it ever happens, but I'm still not sure making consumers buy new chargers and cables is a good thing.I also read somewhere that when it's fully used, you could use the USB-C cable to say transfer power from one phone to another. In a rare situation where you may have a fully charged phone and your friend's phone needs a little charge.
Are we Apple now?

First one is dumb, feel it or look at it.Big benefit is the connector is reversible. There's no wrong way to connect it. It also supports higher data transfer rates if its usb 3.0 3.1 and higher power transfer (up to 100w).

Second one is nice, but I think now having to purchase and keep available 2 different cables is a pain in the arse.

Is this going to be standard going forward for Android devices? The Type C connectors?Crosspost from the 6P thread:
Few options for cables if anyone is looking:
3.3 ft (1 meter)
$12.99 from Google https://store.google.com/product/usb_type_c_to_usb_standard_a_plug_cable
$9.99 from Monoprice http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030319&p_id=13009&seq=1&format=2
6 ft
$19.99 from Belkin http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F2CU032/
Adapter:
$8.99 from Monoprice http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=103&cp_id=10330&cs_id=1033001&p_id=13507&seq=1&format=2
Anyways, big fan of Monoprice here. I will probably pick up a spare 3.3ft one and maybe an adapter. I don't trust random Amazon sellers to provide quality cables.
What's the benefit of this over micro USB?
Unless there is a major compelling reason to change, I find it ignorant to switch, and now you can't use your charging cable to connect with a computer anymore, and have to get separate cables.

More and more it looks like the 6p is the way to go.

Wow, it always amazes me what they'll skip. LED notifications? Sheesh.Nexus 6P has an AMOLED screen that could use active display for notifications while not using much battery but has a notification LED while the Nexus 5X has an HD LCD screen but doesn't have a notification LED and requires you to turn the screen on.
Not sure what Google was thinking there..
Just to confirm: you're saying it doesn't have the blinking color notification light?

I placed an order for 64GB Aluminum 6P. Received an email expected delivery date of November 2nd.

Dang, was hoping to see some hands on reviews by you guys before the $50 Play Store credit expires.

Not impressed. Battery is meh. RAM needed to go up to 3GB. Storage maxes out at 32GB. USB C-Type means I have to buy all new cables for everything and lack of wireless charging has me worried. Also no expandable memory. I'm going to just hold out for new phone next year.

That's slightly bigger battery than my s6 edge, which has 2650mah.
At the price point, $380 with a $50 google play credit, I might bite on this one. Going to wait to see some in hand reports though.
-
Those ship times may in fact be a lot quicker. If I remember right, the Nexus 5 was delivered within a week.
-
Probably. As I recall the last two years, the preorder pages have gone online in the early afternoon.
AJ
I'll be watching the progress reports from you guys. Would like to see the 6p.
Make sure to post up reports when you get them in hand!!

People are going to go for the best value period. You can't blame the consumer for having a SERO plan, but you can blame Sprint. I'm on ED 1500 and I'm holding onto my subsidy for as long as I can, but at the rate things are going, I'll end up switching to financing anyways.
I was in your boat. ED + 4 lines. I switched to the financing when I saw how much cheaper it was for the plans. Now I wish I wouldn't have switched though.
Tied to both phones for 24 months and once you add in my 2 leases, I'm not saving anything anymore. If I want to go back to subsidies, it adds $15 per line.

is it possible I am forgetting a detail? Hmmm.
A couple years ago when everyone was using the N5 I remember the discussions about GV Integration with your Sprint number being a complete problem. I had tried it on my phone to use Google Voicemail and it sent my phone into a tailspin of not getting texts and missing calls. Pretty sure it was discussed here quite a bit.
