My T-Mobile plan switched to the MAXXX today on this billing cycle from the 1+ plan. Will I need new sim cards to achieve stand alone NR? I have a ton of routers out there with old sims in them I will be upgrading with RM510 radios for 5G. So I wonder if this is necessary and if so where can I get the new ones for free? The store wants 35 dollars and that is pretty silly. Thanks for any advice :D

You need the R15 from T-Mobile for SA 5G.

No, not that one.  It was where you could see which CA combos were configured, amoung lots of other settings.  You need MSL code to change settings

Closest thing I can think of is #*2263#

It looks like the T-Mobile Galaxy S20 doesn't have eSim either. This update just brought the Sprint N2U in-line with the T-Mobile N2U which was one of the first TMO Android devices to get eSim.

Supposedly the next update will enable esim but it's a wait and see I guess.

T-Mobile appears to be actively migrating Sprint "hold outs" over to the T-Mobile network (via TNA).

My wife has a Pixel 3a that we never bothered to add TNA to since it lacks 5G. Recieved an email stating: "Welcome to our combined bigger, better network...One or more lines on your account have recently joined our combined network and now you can enjoy an enhanced experience." Checked her phone and sure enough she is now on TMobile B2.

For obvious reasons, this is clearly a necessary step to ease the transition to the new network.

Yeah my friend a long hold out who is resisting moving over to T-Mobile got a text saying he would now be experiencing a better experience, he hardly got 5G before and now gets it everywhere I do but obviously he gets no SA.

Let me reach out to my business guy (lost my dedicated guy, which is stupid)  He is in a group of 50, but I have his email and he can call out, or we email back and forth... Ill see if he has a individual contact person

That would be great, they kept telling me the plan no longer exists in their system which is a lie. At least the Canadian girl I talked to was very nice and understanding and did what she was allowed to do, wasn't getting anywhere with the India people it was almost like a joke everything was lost in translation.

  6. Finally got connected to a Canadian, very helpful and understood what I was saying! Sprint Unlimited Freedom no longer exists, they can't put me back on it. So I am back on the taxes included plan with a $20 a month credit. Love how they just put me on the most basic plan to make the bill appear normal but it's obviously not video streaming looks like hot garbage if I am not on my VPN. Once my lease is up I may be jumping ship, we shall see.

  7. T-Mobile is god damn awful, so they never switched me back to unlimited freedom v24 instead some basic bs T-Mobile unlimited plan with dvd quality streaming and no hotspot wtf. They straight up lied to me, I'm to the point of just canceling my lines and going elsewhere this is not how you run a company. And the god damn foreigners I am talking to don't understand or speak proper English...

I just did TNX in Milwaukee area and so far the places that I had Sprint over T-Mobile due to lack of closer tower I'm still on Sprint, which is good.

One thing I noticed is I'm getting N71 NSA (NOT SA) and I was NOT before.  I didn't know that TNX was required for that?  Or was it just a fluke?  I almost thought N41 was added to a couple of towers then realized it was N71 that I hadn't seen before.

Maybe you have it backwards? You have 5G SA now because without TNX you can't access it.

i guess maybe i forgot what TNA is.  When tmobile first took over is TNA what they put all capable devices on, which made the devices prefer tmobile over sprint network?

If so, yes, i had "5G" from the start but it required the anchor band.  I never saw n71 (5G-BR 600 in signal check).  You have seen n71 from the start, with no anchor band needed?

As soon as i made the switch to TNX at the store and got in my car to play around, I started seeing n71 with no anchor band needed so unless they enabled n71 in the 10 minutes i was in the store swapping, i did not have this on TNA.

I remembered something else that came with TNX....SMS messages now show Sent >> Delivered in Textra where as before they only showed Sent which has made me wonder what is happening on the network level that tmobile knows this and why sprint could never do it.  I do not have RCS.

So you had SA after switching.

  10. I couldn't stay away for long, gonna return the iPhone I told myself I wouldn't do this but iPhone just doesn't work for me, tried giving it a weekend but being back on my Ultra feels natural iPhone is slow and laggy lol oh well.

Let me know how reception compares to your s20

As of now it’s pretty much the same, I rarely encounter a situation where I never have service. I usually have 1-3 bars of n71 on my S20 in my house, sitting on 1-2 on the iPhone but obviously the signal bars aren’t quite representing the same. But I remain on 5G 99% of the time like I did on my S20.

I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max. I tested this phone against a unlocked s21 ultra and the iPhone held signal while the Samsung didn’t. Only device that’s better that I’ve tested reception wise is my trusty old s6 active from att. That phone gets signal in places that the coverage map claims no service. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is about 3-5 dbm worse then the s6 active. That device is also rubber and plastic, no glass. Also 2x2 antennas vs iPhone at 4x4.

Well that is good to know, my S20 Ultra has been phenomenal signal wise.
