  1. Does using data while on xfinity wifi hotspots count against data? Because that's free data usage if you're on another carrier but have xfinity for home broadband.
  2. For a single line their price is very competitive (assuming you already have them for home broadband service). Are there any shared plans or discounts for multi lines?
  3. Does anyone know if Sprint changed the LTE TDD configuration to configuration 2? I decided to run a speedtest in my office and got 14Mb/s down 2 Mb/s up, where it used to be about 9Mb/s down and 4.5Mb/s up. I'm using a Moto G4 Plus which does NOT have carrier aggregation btw.
  4. That's disappointing if true. Has this been confirmed? https://www.qualcomm.com/news/onq/2017/05/31/snapdragon-835-andy-rubin-essential-new-generation-mobile-devices ^^ This link from Qualcomm which is a promo for the Essential phone mentions HPUE.
  5. I went into my account online and thought I added $0 Premium international Experience the week before I left on the trip. The day before the trip I double checked again, and premium international was still an option so again I added it again to my plan. After both times maybe an hour or two later I did receive a confirmation email that my services were changed. I just checked my account again and the Premium International Experience is still available as an option. It looks like it's not sticking when I select it as an option to add to my plan. This is despite the fact that I do receive confirmation emails that a change to my plan was made (but the email doesn't specify what changed, only that it did change).
  6. Just came back from Montreal for the weekend. My Sprint service worked fine for calls and text, but data was throttled to 2g speeds (speedtests were showing 0.02 Mb/s down and 0.05 Mb/s up). My Unlimited Freedom plan has global roaming, but I thought I was supposed to receive a text to invite me to pay for high speed data passes? I'm using an unlocked Moto G4 Plus, so maybe only Sprint branded phones get that option? In my hotel I was on wifi and looked at my Sprint plan online and didn't see an option for high speed data.

Does this have HPUE? I'm assuming it does.
  8. Band 71 still has to be finalized by the GSM association right? So phones can't have FCC approval on a band that's not finalized.
  9. I noticed that earlier this week in the parking garage at my office. I didn't know if it was something new or just an error with the signal check pro app. I'm near the Galleria off of 59/Southwest Freeway and New Castle. I get a solid B41 signal in my office so this isn't important to me here but it'll be nice around town when not on B41.
  10. I'm glad to see work is being done, but that's just hilarious. I think it's easy to see why permitting has been an issue with work like that.
  11. Dish also has tons of debt and wouldn't be of any help. Dish was originally looking to have someone else build their network using the spectrum they own. Sprint doesn't have enough money to deploy their own spectrum let alone someone else's spectrum.
  12. Sprint's lower upload speeds (and they plan to decrease them even further by changing the upload/download ratio on b41) will continue to hinder speed test results.
  13. PCMag posted their annual Fastest Mobile Networks 2017. http://www.pcmag.com/article/354110/fastest-mobile-networks-2017
  14. Houston is really thin with 1900mhz spectrum. Wish Sprint would have been able to grab some 1900mhz when AT&T bought out Cricket Wireless.
  15. I think you're off base here. Where's the part about fantasy wireless plans?
  16. Was the Lumia 950 XL even offered by T-Mobile? Unlocked phones may work on a carrier but the carrier doesn't have any obligation to support an unlocked device.
  17. They spend multiples of what Sprint spends on CapEx so yeah, it seems like Verizon puts some effort into it. Sprint has been talking about small cells for the past year while Verizon has been deploying them for a few years.
  18. Right, but in those capacity strained areas you'll more than likely have small cells, which at the moment are 2X20 B41 which isn't a huge advantage for areas where Verizon or T-Mobile has 20mhz of B4 for small cells. 120mhz of B41 isn't necessary unless Sprint decides to waste a ton of specturm like they did with Wimax.
  19. Does T-Mobile have plans for small cells? Ultimately when it comes to capacity it seems like adding small cells is the way to go and that's what Verizon is doing. 3x20 B41 sounds nice and all, but in high density areas where even more capacity is needed small cells will be used. Sprint's small cells are capable of 2x20 B41, which isn't a huge advantage over a 20X20 layer over B4 (what is it, like 168Mb max download vs 150Mb max download?) It doesn't seem like having 120mhz of B41 available in a single market is that much of an advantage versus if Sprint only had 2x20 or 3x20 B41 CA.
  20. I wonder if Comcast will count the data used from their wifi access points against your data usage.
  21. Wouldn't it indirectly affect download speeds if it keeps the phone on band 41 versus switching to a loaded b25 or b26 signal? But yes I understand the B41 download signal isn't affected on HPUE phones.
