Has anyone experienced horrible idle time with the nexus 6? Last night I feel asleep around 3am with the battery around 75% and woke up around 1pm and the device was completely dead. Any ideas what could be causing this kind of battery drain?

I bought it on sprint easy pay. There is nothing special you need to do. I just swapped sims wait a min or two and it works. Same happened when I got my nexus 5 on Sprint. I discovered At&t has LTE advanced here, and T-Mobile is getting bigger coverage converting metro towers to T-Mobile towers the only network I have not tried is Verizon. Might try Verizon Sunday.
You didn't have to root to get it to accept the other sims? I have bought an N6 with 2 year contract and want to be able to do the same.

I just recently took the plunge and purchased an N6 as well. Received it yesterday and can confirm I'm having the same issues w/ LTE. Moving from an N5 w/ lollipop, messenger sent text messages over LTE almost instantaneously. Now, I'm lucky if the text goes thru in 30 seconds and I had two text messages fail yesterday. Keep in mind, I'm lucky enough to have my towers broadcasting Sprint B25,41,26 and have been for several months. Definitely not a tower issue. I tried a PRL / profile update as well to no avail.
As an aside, this phone is huge. I'm really starting to enjoy it though the more I use it. The screen is beautiful.
Maybe 5.0.1 will fix it?
EDIT: Also, what the heck are you guys using for car mounts now? I used to use this mount for the N5 and loved it. I'm having a hard time even fitting it in my cup holders...
Found this one that might work. We just have to be careful when talking about accessories and such, AJ might chime in and yell at us to start an accessory thread.

the cruzerlite cases are great!
I agree. I have been using them for years now, I'm just looking for something similar but a little more plain and slightly stiffer around the edges on the sides/top/bottom. I would still recommend cruzerlite though.

I have the clear one. It works pretty good so far. Got it from a TMobile store because all the sprint ones were out. Hard as heck to get the phone intot he case. But after its in it works great. Has a kickstand and its clear. and it wasnt to badly priced. Should have been cheaper, but it is what it is.
I have a spigen that is really nice

I'll check them out. Thanks guys.

What cases do you guys recommend? I like the cruzerlite style TPU cases. Any feedback would be appreciated. Currently lookin at the TUDIA ultra slim on amazon.

After lollipop my nexus 5 will not give me engineering screen either. I think lollipop is the culprit
my stock nexus 5 with lollipop still works with codes *#*#debug#*#* and *#*#data#*#*. not sure why it doesnt work for you.

mine failed to activate at first because it was trying to add premium data twice.

So you're on sero premium and have the nexus 6 working? My bro and I are on sero and plan in gettimg n6's.

Lol.... If I could I would, However; I have keys and I can get it after I am done, but that brings me to a 5:30pm departure time and a 6:45 arrival time then an hour and a half ride home.
The struggle is real... first world problems...

Definitely prefer many aspects of android to iOS.
But from a hardware perspective, the iPhone is hands down better than any android phone I've played with.
That's what she said about my hardware!

in other others, pretty much irrelevant, my N10 updated to 5.0 today haha. no N5 update though...
Wish Google had N6's already in stock and not running out quickly.

The original production order probably wasn't that high considering every single article talking about the N6 screen size had a the majority of people commenting complaining about the size of the phone. They probably have algorithms that calculated a high percent of negative comments when compared to positive ones. People tend to post a complaint than something positive. I know I sat silently waiting for the N6 instead of posting about my opinions. I'm sure they will revamp production soon just like they did with the N4 and N5.

I think the HDR was removed from the N10. I couldn't find it on there but still have it on my stock n5

I don't really remember an announcement last year w/ the Nexus 5. Google just doesn't do announcements - it's weird, I know. People need to stop comparing this to the iPhone launch, though. There's people who are still waiting on their iPhone 6+ orders, and it's been out for a few weeks now.
If I remember correctly, there was supposed to be an official announcement in NY but it was cancelled due to a storm so they announced it online a week or so after the original date along with opening initial sales right after. I was on a plane during their announcement/initial sales went live and had to wait for the 2nd batch of phones.

Is there a reason you couldn't reuse your existing SIM and just get it cut to the right size? Looks like you can buy a cutting tool online for $5. I'm surprised the stores don't have SIM cutters for the reps to use actually.
That is an option worst case scenario. Personally, I don't think it should have to come to that though. If you get tires too small for your rims do you cut them wider and force the rims in? No, you get bigger tires. You expect to be able to buy the correct tires for your rims (I have no problem paying a few extra dollars for the correct sim). You should be able to get the correct parts needed for the product you bought. Regardless of proportion to cost, size, or how easy it is to modify a sim, we shouldn't have to. Just saying...

Last year I called Sprint International and asked for a Sim for the N5 and they sent it at no charge. Should be just as easy for this one.
You were one of the lucky ones like I was. If you look back at the N5 thread around launch and a few months after launch some members here were having trouble getting a hold of one. Some stores were uneducated about the sim situation or simply didn't want to part ways with one. Some members here had better luck at 3rd party retailers vs. Sprint corp. owned...

Did anyone notice on the specs page for the N6 it will be using a nano sim? I wonder how hard it will be to get a hold of one since it was a pain to get a hold of a micro sim for the N5...

LOL....I never implied that the Nexus 5 lost those features now did I. Since My daily driver is a Nexus 5 I would know this 1st hand. I was making a list of why it is a good phone to buy as an upgrade from a Nexus 5 and listing why I would buy it in comparison to the Note 4.
I originally wanted the Note 4 all year I waited for it's launch until this came out. The higher price makes me really inspect why I should buy this instead of a Note 4. My main reason for wanting a Note 4 was screen size, and soft ware suite. The Note is more than just a big screen...that is my reason for looking solely at it. This phone comes out and complicates things, and with a higher price at 1st glance the Note starts to look more appealing until you really dissect what the Nexus 6 is offering.
I know, I was joking. I was interested in the Note 4 as well when the rumors of the N6 were for a 5.2" screen. Now that it is phablet sized with dual front facing, I want the N6. I'm a hater of TouchWiz so my opinion is highly biased. I bought the M7 but wanted pure android and switched to the N5 but really missed the dual speakers. Glad they are making their way to the N6 and N9. Before the M7 I was saying HTC should build dual front speakers since the HTC Touch Pro 2, but I was saying that since they marketed that phone for conference calls/work purposes. Never though media... but N6 for the WIN!

I'll probably use my upgrade to get the iphone 6 and sell it and buy the Nexus 6 from Google. Hopefully to take advantage of that one time screen replacement if needed.
-
With the roaming base bands included, and screen size this slips ever so close to the Note. Pure Google, and upgrades straight from Google makes this a worthy upgrade from the Nexus 5 in may ways,
5. Pure Android....future software upgrades, 1st bug fix upgrades
6. built in wireless charging
I'm pretty sure the Nexus 5 is still pure and android and the built-in wireless charging is not going to be deactivated once the N6 comes out...
Just saying...

I meant to get a discount.
Amazon seems to be allowing me to update my line and i am on SERO-P. Says I need to update my plan but if i remember correctly all the sites, including sprint, has said that. Once you get the phone you just add it to your account.
Really? I used to work at Sprint Corporate and as far as I knew, all SERO-P had to buy from corporate stores. If another retailer other than sprint corporate changed the plan the sales support wouldn't put it back on SERO-P (in store systems made us take the customer off the plan and we would have to contact sales support to put them back on).
-
SERO members can only buy from Sprint corporate
-
Of course its a little small comparably, they're not in the same category.
True true. I guess it's just me wanting to try a phablet but I refuse to use anything not pure Android. I'm note knowledgeable at rooting to put a customer cyanogen mod something of that nature.

Were you able to take a look at my screen shots? Do those trends seem normal?
