I did enter in good faith as I fulfilled the contract and assumptions within that contract. No where did I break bad faith. I fulfilled my obligation/agreement and I did not mislead Google as they requested no input of my intentions.
Just because I went in knowing I was going to cancel the service does not mean that I exercised bad faith nor poor ethics as this possibility based on assumption is built into the contract and I fulfilled all my obligations.
The intent of the discount is to increase the subscribers on Project Fi. Since your "game plan" was to order it, activate it, and immediately cancel service makes the offered discount pointless. Google basically used the phone subsidy business model without utilizing a contract in good faith that people would stick with the Project Fi service for at least a trial period. Basically, a loophole was found and extorted.
Side note: I would bet that the reason they didn't utilizing a short contract such as 3 or 6 months is because of the current state of the industry.

It's also happening on the 6P's. My friend got hers last night on and I got mine this morning as well.
EDIT: Just checked my PRL, its on 55050. Not sure if that's what is was on before or if the 5X and 6P use the same.
-
Not to mention the finger print scanner is awesome on the 6p. I would assume the same on the 5x but haven't used it personally.
I always wanted to lock my phone but would be too impatient putting the pattern. With the 6p I can have it locked and unlock it seamlessly.
-
that is correct, the 6p is more of a 'warm' light like your house lights while the 6 is a 'cool' light like a dentist office.
Alright cool. Just making sure it wasn't just me. Nice analogy. I'm weird though, I actually have the dentist 'cool' lights in my room and normal 'warm' house lights everywhere else. Your analogy is a perfect example I see everyday haha.
I also have a tiny ding out-of-the-box on the top left of the frame but it's covered with a case so I'm not gonna bother Google about it.
So far I'm loving the 6P compared to the 6. Favorite thing so far is that I don't need to push the power button to wake it, just scan my finger. I'm on the side that agrees/supports the scanner on the back as opposed to the front, feels more natural. Just my $ 0.02.

A question for those of you who have the nexus 6 and 6p. Has anyone compared the flash between the two phones? I used them both as flashlights at the same time and noticed the 6p has a yellow-ish tinge to it. Is anyone experiencimg this? I assume if it's consistent on 6p's then the camera is calibrated for it.
-
cool stuff always happens when you dont have a camera available doesnt it? A police chase just ended in my driveway! Anyways, should i assume it is a bad camera and not a software issue and contact google about it?
That's usually how cool stuff happens, unexpectedly... If you haven't tried a hard reset, I would try that. If that doesn't work then contact Google for a replacement. Worse case you already did a hard reset to ship it back to them.
-
I noticed that as well, especially for OC/LA areas. I think they making Enhanced LTE default if both are in that area and showing regular LTE if there's no Enhanced. Carrier coverage maps are notorious for exaggerating their coverage to market their service better. There are some spots in OC were LTE doesn't reach but you won't find those small gaps on their coverage map.

The Nexus 6 from Sprint is a no go. Just tried it with my Sprint sold N6 and said invalid. So to further back up what AJ said, 3rd party is different from Sprint sold.
-
I had a similar issue. I use gmail for my gmail(obvious one there) and my outlook address. Sometimes I don't get notified of an email until 20 minutes after it was received. I've check the settings for each individual account and the settings for the app itself. I have both accounts set for push. It often ranges from 3-320 minute notification delay.
-
If the second carrier is live, most likely CA is also live. Sometimes there is a delay between the two, but not more than a couple weeks.
B41^2, not B42.
B42? That's different.
Interesting. Damn, another awesome reason to buy the 6P, I'm trying not to spoil myself since my N6 is perfectly fine...
I did mess up and originally typed 42. I fixed it after itsrobert pointed it out.
-
B42? That's different.
Messed up, I meant B41.
-
Noticed a 2nd carrier on my N6 near the Fullerton Airport. Closer to Beach Blvd. Sorry for the newb question but does the B41^2 mean I'm in an area with CA and just need a compatible device?
Also did a speed test and got around 17 megs before killing the app. I don't like to let the speed test complete when testing the Sprint network so I don't cause congestion. I usually kill the Ookla after 4-5 when the speed tops off.
-
Beyond just the Nexus 5x being a strong phone with good antennas, I think Sprint has really be tuning their coverage recently and it has been quite impressive. Has anyone else received better sprint service in the past week or two?
Haven't noticed a change. I get 4g nearly everywhere. Only time my n6 drops to 3g is in stores and in few spots on my running trail, however, before the 6.0 update it wouldn't drop to 3g on my trail.

I've used Diztronic on my last 4 or 5 phones and like them as well. Bargain priced, too. I've got one on my Nexus 5X and it's great like always.
NICE...I got the correct sim cards today, just need to order the 6p soon.
-
Diztronic put their TPU case on preorder for the N6P on amazon! I've been a fan of them for awhile. If you're like me and like thin TPU cases that are plain with basically no logo check this one out. Another reason I like Distronic is because many TPU cases are flimsy on the sides and this brand tends to be the least from the ones I've tried.

Oooooh, figured you did that already! Ha ha. You're a Nexus owner now, time to beef up your computer skillz.
Yeah, first line of defense is ALWAYS wipe cache partition in recovery. On any Android phone. Then factory reset, then reflash (especially on a Nexus).
Sent from my Sprint Note5
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't the Volume Down + Power method do all that?
-
Tried a factory reset and it still is rebooting.
Did you use the "factory reset" in the settings or the volume down + power? Personally, I'm a fan of the volume down + power method.

I was scrolling back in this thread for about 5 pages before giving up, and it didn't occur to me to look at the 5x forum.
Anyway, can we pin the activation thread to the Huawai forum? I'm disappointed with Sprint that I couldn't just walk into a sprint store to get it activated. Nano-SIM is about as small of an item to stock as you get.
AJ posted sim specifics on the first page of the 5X thread.

Some Sprint stores either have them in stock and don't realize or understand and I have them. You can pay 10 bucks for the correct sim at Best Buy or chat/call with Sprint International to order the correct one.

I remember as a kid having a dial TV that broke! To change the channel we had to get a pair of pliers. We stayed there until something good to watch was found. HAHAHA

Despite the fact I'm way younger than you AJ, I personally love phone calls with my girlfriend and friends. Way more intimate, faster, clearer... Plus I get to save battery! It's a jackpot for me.
I am unsure if that is a caveat or an insult. I am not all that old. But, yes, I was already in college when you were conceived. You just missed a lot of interesting life -- the first Gulf War, Grunge rock, both Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64, "Pulp Fiction," Netscape, etc. And that was only the 1990s, when you were a twinkle in your father's eye or a drooling infant. You really were not cognizant until the 2010s.
In the grand scheme, you are still a baby...
AJ
AJ, I jumped on your less at Super Nintendo! (Super Baseball 2020) haha =D
Remember when the internet consisted of having to make sure no one in the house was expecting an important phone call before connecting? Kids these days don't even know the struggle...or having to clean the games on older gaming consoles...
OR OR OR I have another. Before mobile phones and gaming devices were invented. Or when they got color screens!

I wish Google gave some recognition for this site like Sprint and other sites have. There are so many people who come to this site for new information and solutions when interested in new devices. This community basically provides free troubleshooting for Sprint (in some cases other carriers) and device manufactures. Not to mention I would pick here for troubleshooting questions before calling carriers and manufacturers.
Sorry, went on little bit of a rant...

Phones should be able to be dropped and still work.
Why not contact google support, tell them exactly what happened (you dropped it but no crack, etc) and see if they'll replace under warranty?
Hopefully they will help replace it. Even if they say buy the $89 insurance and they will replace it is better than nothing...
-
Seems easy enough thanks!
Whether you call or chat, the rep should guide you through the process and guide you. Basically, leave the phone off with the sim in it until the device ID and sim ID are both registered to your phone number. The rep will let you know when to power on the device and it should auto activate. If it doesn't, the rep will guide you through it. If you go into a store, the rep will most likely just take care of it.

Wow, looks like y'all want to be careful with the 6p

Seems to scratch pretty easily, especially the Graphite color. The 'bending' was already debunked however, to paraphrase the post I'll link below, he pre-broke the glass which made bending the aluminum body of the phone quite a bit easier. https://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus6P/comments/3qtuaj/nexus_6p_does_not_bend/
edit: Further down someone points out discrepancies between the phone he used and retail phones. It's suspected he's using pre-production phone and also apparently goes through the effort to structurally weaken them beforehand. Other than the obvious 'it's aluminum, it's going to scratch' you guys can pretty much ignore that and move on to comparing the RF of the phone .
Some who pretty much backs up your claim.
What about the initial crack before the fire test? The crack from the scratch test?

Google Nexus 5X by LG User Thread (LG H790)

I got that from the Google Play device specs.
So for Sprint specifically, it's B41-B41.
