Could you please share. I live on the border of West Virginia and Maryland. About an hour from Baltimore. Is my area purple?
S4GRU and staff work very hard to make this site to be a great resource for insider information, troubleshooting, upcoming devices, network visions, etc. What little donates they receive is what enables them to keep this site up and running. That being said, I am not pushing you to donate but it definitely has its perks. Personally, I plan on becoming a Premier Sponsor as soon as I can. Not that I do not want to help you out, some information has been deemed confidential to sponsors only.

Can someone please Link me to this map where I can attempt to locate this ''purple area''
Please and Thanks.
I started a thread here a few days ago. : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515200
I have tried everything.. Called them so many times. I can not get LTE and talk/sms
Gotta be a sponsor to have access to it.

Launching devices that won't work properly in many large markets was a mistake, but that's nothing new for Sprint at this point.

Just puts a bigger black eye on a company trying to pull the nose up. Not good at all. Not good at all.
Probably didn't anticipate a lot of people purchasing the device. I remember when I was working there when the Galaxy Nexus launched not a lot of people bought it. Plus, I feel like Sprint still is not too excited about the idea of activating unlocked devices. Isn't the nexus 5's they carry not having any issues?

Lets get this triband issue SOLVED!

If your area has lots of purple on the map you are in trouble.
According to the NV Sites Complete map here at S4GRU, my area has ZERO purple sites, does that mean I am in the clear? (Not to rub it in anyone's face if they are in a bad spot)

Has anyone gotten a Nexus 5 32gb from Google and in the OC market?
Any issues?

I have no idea what even cosplay is. I can he pretty naive. I asked my son, and he didn't even know. But he was raised by me. So there you go.

It is basically when people dress up as their favorite characters from fiction anime, video games, movies, etc. Girls tend to make modifications to make the costume a lot more sexy than the original. Hence the name cosplay costume play.

thanks guys got it
I did a scan inside and out and got no sprint signal at all, but did get att verizon and tmo
sensorly shows sprint 4g for my home for sure
maybe i have to have the sprint sim in ? or phone activated for 'sprint'
dunno
You need at least the sprint sim to detect it, but you might lock the sim since it won't register to your meid.

I am just curious. If say someone walked in to Sprint with a N5 from GooglePlay and wanted to start new service, would their pay 80 or 65 a month? If I am not mistaken, you only pay 65+monthly handset costs if you sign up for One UP.
-
hmmm interesting
sensorly shows NO sprint wimax for my area but 4g is low to medium
sorry be noob-like but is sprint wimax=lte ?
and their 4g is different somehow ?
also I only see the options on N5 to switch between LTE, 3g and 2g
No, by 2015 wimax should be gone. Look up Sprint 4g. Wimax and LTE are different. Back in 2010 or so Sprint went with WiMax to be the first to deliver "4g" while the other carriers opted for LTE which wasn't ready for consumer roll out. Later as Verizon and ATT rolled it out it showed signed of being better of the two. Sprint had to ditch WiMax and play catch up with LTE, hence why they are behind, also pissed a lot of people off who never got WiMax in their area because Sprint stopped the roll out. Long story short of course.

I just compared Sprints advertised coverage vs what Sensorly reports and wow. Talk about being overly generous about what you cover...I feel like at this point there is no point to complain because it is a known fact they market isn't "complete".
-
I'm thinking about checking my local best buy tommorow to check and see if they can match google play store,if they do I will cancel my order from google
I ordered the 32gb so I have to wait. I put movies and carry large school files on my phone, plus the average size of apps keeps getting larger and larger.
-
hmmmm so maybe sprint lte is not even available at my home ??
their map says otherwise
gotta be a setting or need of sim in
Check overage using either the Sensorly app or website. If you aren't familiar with sensorly, it shows reported areas covered by people who have gotten signal at that location. The maps that carriers provide are too generous with coverage and show theoretical coverage vs actual.

I am jealous of you wall!
Google finally displays a ship date of 11/26...that is Thanksgiving week! Might not get it until the following week

I ordered mine on the 5th.

I'm not using my upgrade until 2034. That is when the super spark part 4 is completed, 1 Tbps should be available by then.
I'm going to use the upgrade to buy an iPhone 21 with 1024G Quads of flash memory with cloaking technology and sell it on Swappa.
Jokes on you!, Android will have the teleportation app by then! Apple will need the Google teleport app so people don't get teleported off a cliff or in the middle of a lake

Maybe Sprint has some that have boxes branded for Sprint and include a Sprint SIM Card.
Good point about the Sim haha

I am glad to have found this thread/website. A LOT of good info and peoples here
I received my shipping email from Sprint at 1:10am 'today' for my Black 16g N5 ordered on Nov. 3
It shows as UPS 2nd Day Air® and had a Scheduled Delivery: Monday, 11/11/2013, By End of Day at 6am this morning when I checked again
Now it shows Scheduled Delivery: Friday, 11/08/2013, By End of Day !!
w00t!!
Nothing like being able to play with a new phone over the weekend.
I will be comparing it to my Droid Razr Maxx HD on Verizon LTE
I happen to live in an area where both Verizon and Sprint show a low to medium, 2 to 3 bar coverage for LTE
I will be deciding on many factors on which phone and service to keep
The Maxx has done very well for me in all areas except screen size is a tad small and tapping and touching is hit or miss sometimes
Call quality, speed, build, wifi, 4g, camera, 32gig on board and 64gig sdcard, and of course battery life are all amazing.
BUT the desire to have a much 'nicer' phone, bigger screen and whatnot just may negate the 'shortcomings' of the same: 16gig on board, no sdcard, charging once a day vs every 4 or 5 days, paying Verizon $40 a month for service on our family plan, or switching myself to sprint for $90 a month. In some ways it seems like a no brainer but it is actually going to be a tough decision :-/
btw.....does anyone know if I can slap a Tmobile sim in at anytime and it will just work ? 4g too ?
or do settings need to be tweaked ?
and do I need to activate the phone thru sprint first or will a Tmo sim work right outta the box ?
Thanks in advance
First off, There is a lot of good people here with a lot of knowledge providing a lot info ALL for nonprofit.
(*hint *hint *donate* hint* hint*) -get access to more forum sections with additional info and progress of Network Vision and coverage maps.
To activate on Sprint you will need a Sprint sim and call/chat/in-store to get the phone active similar to Verizon. On T-Mobile all you have to do is pop in your active T-Mobile sim and you should be good to go.

I have Sprint Nexus 5s sitting in my cabinet at my Best Buy.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Shouldn't you be saying "I have Nexus 5s..." instead since the phone shouldn't be branded in any way?
Is it me or the phone just love's to hang on to LTE without switching to the strongest signal...i.e. 3g. With 3g I have to set it manually, and I get 92dbm inside the house, which is stronger than the LTE 0- -115dbm. While on LTE with it set to Global it never switched to the stronger 3g signal, and people said that I was fading in and out during the call. When I manually set it to 3g people seemed to hear me more clearly.
It is just you! I don't have my nexus 5 yet....

Anyone else order a black nexus 32 and sims sprint on Tuesday (11/5) or earlier and haven't gotten any info on shipping?

Sorry, I'm new to the site and am not familiar enough with which users are very knowledgeable. Anyway, I have seen some posts that state that tri-band phones will not be capable of simultaneous voice & data. Is this a known fact that is a side effect of the way that tri-band works? Or was it a design decision where you have engineering limitations that result in having to give up SVDO and/or SVLTE.
I've got an S3 and I'm pretty sure it supports SVDO. I've just been reading up and it sounds as if the S4 dropped SVDO and instead supports SVLTE. Of course who knows what the re-released S4 will support. In my case, simultaneous voice & data is a make or break feature.
It appears the knowledgeable people saw your post and replied haha. I was going to redirect you to them
