Mine too. Anything odd with the account details with yours or anyone else I should be looking for?

I haven't looked around much. I did check something I had seen on Reddit, where an unlocked phone (not a TMO sold phone) shows as locked even though it isn't really locked. I looked at some of my add-ons, nothing jumped out at me. Kinda wish I had taken some screenshots to compare before and after. I did do a hot sim swap just to confirm it works now.

The website (https://signalcheck.app) has a Known Issues page on the Wiki tab. If you want to report a bug, the Issues tab is a good place to check to see if it's already reported. If not, you can report it there. You can always just post, PM, or email too.. I get to it all eventually.

Sending diagnostic reports when you see an issue is definitely helpful. Feel free to share info even without a report, you can always send it next time you see an issue.

I don't see this one there, though I suppose I could be related to the one about no signal strength in the signal icons. This morning I had two signal icons, both without signal strength, and one apparently stale. I had an LTE and a 5G icon, and when I opened the app from the notification (there were two notifications, one empty and one populated - I've seen that before) it only showed LTE and WiFi. I threw away and reopened the app a couple times with no change, then used exit from the app menu and everything returned to normal when I reopened the app.

I agree with John Saw's take on mmWave.  There are significant costs to purchasing and installing the mmWave antenna and associated equipment.

It is only cost effective to spend the money deploying mmWave if there is going to be more than a certain number of customers very close to the antenna with no blockers between the customers and the antenna and the mid-band i.e. 2500mhz that is already available to that location cannot handle the load.  That is a very limited set of locations.

Yep. And without the right back haul, it doesn't matter how much speed and capacity the airwaves have.

I upgraded to a Pixel 6 several months ago and haven't seen the issue since. I don't know

    I know I said I wouldn't get a Pixel but oh well

I'd upgrade hoping for a better radio, but I hate the bigger size! (And the camera bump if I'm being totally honest)

I'm having issues during a WiFi call where the caller can here me but I can't hear them. There are a few bug trackers on Google, but the problem appears to date back to at least early 2021. Appears to maybe also be a T-Mobile specific issue. I'd guess it's technical issues like this that caused them to discourage bringing the Pixel 5 onto their network. And why they didn't even sell it through T-Mobile in the first place.

Anyone still here with a Pixel 5? Ever see this issue? Anyone with knowledge of the problem or insight?

I'm about to just buy a different phone. Probably won't be a Pixel.

Probably too late to help you, but I've had this problem on my S21, and I'm pretty sure my wife had it happen on her iPhone 12 Pro Max, so I'm thinking it's a TMO issue.

  6. Anyone still using a Pixel 5 on T-Mobile? I picked one up from eBay a few months ago, and everything seemed fine at first just testing it with a prepaid SIM, but started seeing an issue using it on my postpaid line. Whenever I picked my daughter up from work, I noticed data was not working. Sometimes no data showing, and sometimes showing data but with an exclamation point next to the signal bars. That is the place I get all of the crazy fast speeds on my S21. Carrying it for a while, I started seeing it in other places too, so I doubt it had anything to do with the tower. Toggling data or airplane mode generally fixes the issue. Eventually I tried factory reset just to see if that stopped it, but it didn't. When I swapped to a TracFone AT&T sim, initially it wouldn't pick up 5G, but eventually it did, and I've never noticed a data issue with that sim in the phone, so I'm having trouble believing it's just a defective phone.

  7. Is this a phone bug, a SCP big, or a brain bug? I occasionally run a speed test on my S21 when I drop my daughter off for work. There's a tower a few hundred feet away, so results are usually very good. The other day, I got almost 1Gbps (a couple days later I hit 1073Mbps) but SCP claimed I was connected to N71 and LTE B2. I'm quite sure that combination isn't capable of that speed. Later I searched how to open service mode, and when SCP was showing the same thing, service mode appeared to show I was connected to N41 and B2. Screenshots attached so y'all can confirm or educate me if I don't understand. :) Edit: attachment max, will add 2nd post.

  8. I think I was right (or I know less about TNX band preference than I thought). When I disabled everything except B41, I connected to a weak T-Mobile B41 signal from (I assume) a different tower. With all 5G enabled and just LTE B41, I am sitting on N71, which still shows the 5GUC icon for some reason, but at least it's faster than B12. I assume they're going to move that B41 to N41? Hopefully sooner than later.

This is correct, it appears that Samsung is disabling the menu that the app served as a shortcut to. It looks like on TMo models, *#2263# still works for band selection though.

Good to know. This actually looks nothing like the screen I remember. Is there a guide on here somewhere, or "just Google it"? 😁
