  1. I think both dates are pure speculation and don't agree with the Dec 2014 at all. From stopping at many sites in the metro area, I have personally seen plenty of sites prepped for backhaul. I really only think its a matter of time before they work inwards to the metro area. Look how much area the one single site in town covered - just imagine 10 more of those. I think the only person that really knows other than our speculation is thenight84.
  2. I'm sick of listening to Dora the Explorer. That all.
  3. Hey there There's quite a few of updates in the Buffalo area but none yet LTE. It's only a matter of time before they can be flipped on. Hang in there - it's coming! If you become a sponsor, you can view the map of sites that are in progress in your area.
  4. Just out of curiosity, do you think you'll be notified of the TD-LTE accepted sites like you are of the current LTE sites? Perhaps a totally different system though.
  5. All of the 6000 people there are happy now. Now on to west side!
  6. I agree. Just a matter of time before the crews work towards the metro area. I've seen a lot of sites with backhaul in the metro area.
  7. I looked at the site a few weeks ago. Pretty confident it was fiber (didn't see microwave on Sprints rack).
  8. Basically, backhaul that's not provided by the local phone company (or microwave).
  9. Stopped by the tower on 33 & US42 (on way to Marysville). The RRUs were mounted, new cabinets down and even had Time Warner Business Class box on inside of fence with fiber ran to it. Everything looks good to me but who knows what's inside the cabinets. There was a couple other towers accepted in the Marysville area so maybe just missing something small here. Also, this appears the first sign of AAV backhaul that I'm aware of. TWC does have a fiber ring in the area.
  10. Fun post for Saturday: I stopped and looked at a Sprint site today which is a tall monopole with some other carriers in it. Anyway, today is beautiful outside with blue sky with huge white clouds flying by. Standing near the base of the tower, it made the tower look like it was swaying back and forth. Made it very difficult to even look at the antennas on the tower!
  11. I searched the permits and found one of them at least. It's not an exact science finding the permits for these towers as some are in municipalties that don't have online permit search capability. Add some pics to the In Progress thread to get credit for finding them though! Jan- Grove City WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FACILITY TOWER 3730 HOOVER RD
  12. We had another 3G accepted in the market yesterday - it was inside the loop.
  13. Drove down 71S today (wife wanted to spend money at Jeffersonville outlet mall) and saw at least 2 towers on way down with new cabinets and RRUs. Couldn't snap pics at 70 mph but nice to see some other progress in the overall market.
  14. Not sure if this has been shared before but cool pictures of unique/ugly cell towers in disguise. http://twistedsifter.com/2012/08/examples-of-cell-phone-tower-disguises/
  15. Unfortunately, I didn't even know to pull it up even as I was riding and my phone dinged that an LTE signal was discovered.. Figured someone can remember to do it if they drive by, just thought I'd give a heads up It's likely the only site active on Morse. Someone reported signal from it on 23 & Lazzelle. It has a solid range.
  16. Cozisback reported: 203 South/Southwest 388 East 390 North/Northwest
  17. Doesn't make sense to me either. Must be some backhaul issues in these rural sites IMHO.
  18. Digiblur provided these directions for your Nexus: Galaxy Nexus Open the dialer and dial *#*#DEBUG#*#* Enter 777468 (Sprint) for the lock code Select LTE Engineering Serving Cell is the site and RSRP shown in dBm is your LTE signal strength.
  19. That isn't the way it works nor has it been like that in any market. I do not see that changing now and there really isn't any point to it. That would be going backwards at this point on the rollout. I would assume what he meant was that 3G upgrades would be accepted and implemented in clusters which is true. I agree it doesn't make sense for LTE of course.
  20. Just setup a GPS repeater system. Simple. http://www.gps-repeating.com/ Ok so kidding of course. Who knows how much that would cost. Interesting product however. Not sure of the real world use for this.
  21. It is common knowledge at least on this board that 3G has to be accepted in clusters. I think we are all just excited to hear specific 4G LTE implementation plans. But that being said thank you for any information you can share.
  22. Man that sucks. What's plan B if it never comes through? Flash back to stock and try to warranty swap... Hopefully to another phone, anything with a better lte radio. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4 Beta That's too bad the Evo name was tarnished with that phone (at least on S4GRU). My first Android phone was HTC Hero then on to the Evo 4g. I loved the Evo but decided to try out an iPhone for the first time ever (got an ipad2 for a gift and had to try it in phone version). I still have the Evo 4g in case I lose/drop the iphone. Never understood how people get so worked up on the ios vs android argument. I've had both and liked both. Just happened to have iphone this upgrade - who knows what will happen next. Sorry to digress off Columbus LTE talk. Get a working phone! Good luck.
