  1. Any carrier update is good. It means Sprint tweaked something with the way the phone interacts with the network, albeit band switching, signal/dbm display, or internal features. Sent from my iPhone 6
  2. I thought I was the only one that rolls like that. Makes staring at field test while driving possible, although dangerous if you ever set your phone down and forget to hit the power button (which I've done). Sent from my iPhone 6
  3. AJ, you seem quite bent on this subject, as you also voiced your opinion when Indianapolis had their AWS LTE expanded. What's the problem with it? Who is this going to affect? Believe me, the guy or girl using the 5-year-old gas station Android that was $39 brand new probably isn't a very data-centric user. They'll wake up, notice they're on "E," call T-Mobile to (hopefully) have explained to them what happened, and be offered a market-specific upgrade option for their inconvenience. Whether or not you know everything or nothing about wireless, you need to always understand that technology evolves. Look at Sprint: people still run band 25 only devices and complain. What about when CLWR gets shutdown, and grandma's WiMAX dongle doesn't work anymore. What about the USCC subs in the Midwest that got swallowed up by Sprint, and we're forced to find someone else, or sign with Sprint. CDMA Cricket? MetroPCS? The list goes on, and on. 4. I checked around 11:30, and didn't see it until about 11:50-ish. Maybe it rolled (quickly) through the system. I didn't notice any interruption in service. Here's a speedtest from an unloaded tower next to the Hinsdale oasis along I-294. We shall see how it's different during the day, especially in those crushed areas near Chicago. Look at that upload. 5. Chicago just went wideband, and right on schedule, too. Sent from my iPhone 6
  6. I would love to, but I'm hearing it's on Thursday. Don't they know people work? Sent from my iPhone 6

  8. HAWKS!!! Sent from my iPhone 6
  9. Does the Stylo support CA? It's really cheap, and would make a good test device. Sent from my iPhone 6
  10. Nobody has asked it, so I will: has field test finally been optimized for larger screens/fixed to not be so slow and crappy? [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone 6
  11. In regards to your MSL, you just need to ask the right question: open up a chat support, and tell them you had to do a factory reset, and now it's asking for "some kind of code...MSL code I think?" Just play dumb. You'll often get a rep that thinks you're trying to unlock the device, and will refuse to give it to you. Sent from my iPhone 6
  12. I think I read somewhere that it will work with T-Mobile, but no volte or wifi calling, or something like that. Just wondering if any of our members could confirm. Sent from my iPhone 6
  13. Have any of you guys paid full price for the s6? The question I'm getting at is, is the phone unlocked and able to be used on T-Mobile or AT&T? Sent from my iPhone 6
  14. Yes. I've been on and off different companies since February. I'll be back, though. Sent from my iPhone 6
  15. So, zero talk of other wireless companies and how they operate in the Chicagoland area? Nobody was bashing anyone, and the discussion was/is leading to a constructive discussion. Sent from my iPhone 6
  16. You can definitely tell the difference. Plus, there's usually a brief pause a second or two into the beginning of the call where you hear it switch over. Sent from my iPhone 6
  17. Pretty much exactly. I, too, have been spending a lot (more than I care to think about) on sims and service just to see what's going on around town. I'd probably stay with Cricket because att just works everywhere, and well at that, but 10gb just isn't enough, so T-Mobile it is for a bit. I really am rooting for Sprint, but they're lacking in a few areas for my personal taste. Sent from my iPhone 6
  18. Slow data, texts, and calls were never the problem for me on Sprint, it was the unreliability of LTE service, and maybe that weighed heavily in their testing. LTE drops indoors in your pocket if you're not near a tower, and I'm not being unrealistic with service expectations, but it's in small places next to a window, like a subway restaurant or a small bar, or every time PCS lte gets weak, it just drops to 3G, even outdoors. While driving, I'll occasionally glance over at my wife's sprint iphone 6 while she's using it, and she's on 3G all the time. I'm riding out T-Mobile for awhile, because so far, I'm happy with their service and network. They're not perfect in heavily populated areas, and can get bogged down, but we'll see what happens after the AWS HSPA shutdown next month. Sent from my iPhone 6
  19. My buddy has the sport version, and I tinkered with it for a bit. It does have a cool factor, but it doesn't seem practical to me. It's nice having smaller, quicker versions of some apps (he was ordering uber cars with it lightning fast), and the text/reminder/calendar notifications are nice since some mechanism actually taps your wrist instead of a vibration (I have a problem with missing notifications in louder environments with my phone in my pocket). I also liked some of the watch faces, and how it lights up when you turn your wrist to check the time, then turns off when you turn your wrist back to normal. I'm probably going to skip it because of the cost. The only one that appeals to me is the all black watch with the black metal link band. $1099 is just nuts for a wrist device, and I've only worn a watch like 3 times in my life, so... 20. Did they ever fix HD voice on 8.3? I thought I read that 8.3/carrier 19.1 broke it Sent from my iPhone 6
  21. Not sure why they're waiting so long to make it right. Sprint's new AD campaign here is driving me nuts. It's everywhere, and they're gloating about being 2nd most reliable in Chicago, and plastering that rootmetrics graph all over the place where Verizon is in first. It makes no sense. Sent from my iPhone 6
  22. That doesn't make sense. They tested last in September. Since then, sprint has gone ape sh*t with band 41. So AT&T notched up because they widened B4 to 10x10? Sent from my iPhone 6
  23. Milan, could you please tell me how to enter the service mode on a Samsung? I may get bored this weekend, and find a sprint store in/near our second band 41 carrier cluster and see what happens. Sent from my iPhone 6
