  1. Got the profile and prl update also. It may be completely unrelated, but the band 26 off the tower near my house is now coming in a good chunk stronger. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. Just had an HD voice call with my wife here in Wheaton. It was so noticeable that it was almost distracting lol Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  3. I have but because of increased usage lol.. standby has been solid though. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  4. I've been getting lots of b41 in the Lincoln park area today. I'd say 50% of the times I have checked I've been on it, and I haven't had unreliable data any time I've tried to do something. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. So after doing a profile/prl update my drive home had no disconnects and smooth handoffs between bands. My n5 was on all 3 at various points, and it was rather seemless. At one point signal check was reporting I was on b41, but I am almost certain it was b25 and the info was off for some reason. I did a bit more driving around in a different area and got bumped down to 3g and was unable to get back on LTE until I left the area. I never had issues there before strangely enough. 6. I got band 41 on the way to work, as well as band 26 in a couple of spots that had fringe band 25 before. Unfortunately I did have a couple of hand off issues where my n5 dropped all signal and came back on 3g. I'm doing a profile and prl update and will see how it works on the way home. 7. Coming from .23 radio I'm seeing a minimal dBm drop (3-5) on band 25. I walked into my basement and got switched to band 26, something I never had been able to achieve on .23 before. I know some band 41 spots that my wife's g2 connects to without problems, so I'll give them a try on my way to work tomorrow. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. While on a layover in Zurich about a year ago used something like this in the airport. You used a touch screen to make up a pin, then left your phone in one of about a dozen lockers. It was free and worked without a hitch. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. Yup, Wheaton IL. I'll give it another whirl tonight and see if I can get a similar signal level in my basement. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. Has anyone had a LTE connection that says "unknown" for the band? My dad is visiting me and his g2 picked up a signal in my basement that was significantly stronger than usual, and had unknown under the lte engineering screen. Speed test pulled mid 20s, which I've never come close to indoors in my area on band 25. I haven't been able to reproduce the connection so far (it connects to 25 and pulls normal strength/speed when I tried), but wonder if it might be band 26 here in Wheaton. 11. I'm pleased to report that disabling LTE gets the g2 on the airrave with no problems. Its a bit cumbersome, but my bro can manage it. Thanks for the help! Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
  12. Well that's less than ideal... This may be a long shot, but would switching to cdma only mode via the dialer menu potentially get it to connect to the air rave? It would be annoying to have to do it every time, but janky is better than unreliable. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 4
  13. Anyone tried editing a PRL for a G2? My brother is in a market without 800smr, and his LTE/1x signal is marginal in his house. His G2 refuses to connect to his AirRave consistently, and as a consequence he is missing calls about 50% of the time. Any ideas?
  14. So if I'm understanding this correctly, non-incumbent markets are only the ones with different legacy and nv vendors. Would this list be what would have that info? http://www.s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2120-Listing-of-Legacy-Vendors/Network-Vision-Vendors-by-Market Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks, that helps but also raises more questions for me lol.. So does this mean the g2 doesn't have a live connection to voice service while its on LTE? Does it get signaled for incoming calls over LTE and then switch to cmda or something? My reason for asking is so I can test whether it is connecting to 800 voice or not. Will the g2 not be capable of revealing that until a call is initiated then? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
  16. I got a chance to do a little observing how my wife's g2 performed last night while we were out in Aurora. She had LTE everywhere I did on my EVO, but generally her connection was 10-15db stronger. On speed tests it translated to some dramatically higher speeds. In our house she is consistently getting between 8-9mb, where my phone averages 5-6. I haven't been able to confirm her g2 is on 800 voice yet. Oddly signal check says she isn't connected to anything CDMA, even though she very obviously is, and can make and receive calls. I may try and get her msl and do some more digging later. 17. My wife got her G2 from sprint delivered yesterday. We are in Chicago land and get great 1900 LTE coverage at our house on my evo. The G2 has had no problems connecting so far, but we will see what happens when we go on a trip this evening. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
