  1. This phone drives me absolutely nuts. Received my replacement n5 yesterday at work. Activated it after I got off last night....same f-ing problems. I want to hurt someone at LG!!!!!

    What problem is that?

  2. OEMs do not have to wait for Google to update the Nexus to address these issues. They are perfectly capable of fixing code themselves (and they usually do).

    *edit*

Also, most of those bugs are Nexus specific.

That be be true with non nexus devices, but it's my understanding that Google has final say on what gets pushed to nexus devices.

  3. So I think I'm in the camp that Google is waiting for the next release of android to give us spark. To me, it would be foolish to mess around with 4.4.x this close to the speculated next release.

  4. I have a question for those of you that have one of the custom PRLs on this device.

Have any of you backed up your EFS settings in TWRP? If so, can you get the custom PRL back onto your phone again by just restoring the backup?

I am just looking for a quicker way in the future to get back to the PRL if I am away from a computer and Sprint forces a PRL update.

yes you can restore efs. I've done it a number of times.

  5. Google is just a company full of idiots apparently since they've had over 5 months to figure this Spark thing out.

We don't know that spark is the reason for the hold up. I would bet that it isn't and that some other bug is holding up the update, the planned delivery method for spark.

Now where would Ting get information than Sprint has?  I'm not disagreeing with you it just seems strange that Sprint would post incorrect information, or if it was correct but Google pulled the update, that Ting would have this new information so quickly.

  7. This is very frustrating to hear. Do you think you could pm me and get me in contact with this person? I'd like to discuss this further and explore my options. I don't think anyone at sprint will understand what the true problem is as their front line force is vastly unaware. They'll think I'm nuts lol.

I'm not sure if you said this before, did you buy the phone from google or through sprint?

  8. To be clear...will this update squash the LTE connectivity issues as well? I'm in a market that is nearly totally 3G NV and LTE 1900 complete so I don't get my phone's inability to maintain an LTE connection. I'm extremely frustrated and am hoping the Spark update ends all this.

I think it's too early to know if that will happen. As you may know, there have been a few radio variants for the n5. Each seems to perform differently with holding into an lte connection. Let's hope the new radio will work well across the board.
