  1. Same here. So, if I want a GS6 for example, it would be my regular contract plan price ($80) plus the lease payment for a GS6 ($18).

Now, if I could lease it for free, I'd jump on that!

You would get a $15 service credit as long as you stayed on your legacy plan. Making the phone $3 per month.

  2. Argh, guess that means Sprint store and all the nonsense that entails. Or shaving down the SIM—which I'd really like to avoid.

Shaving down it probably not the best idea. Sprint uses a few different type of SIM cards. Just because it will fit, does not mean it will work.

  3. Interesting this is being discussed at this current moment because I was wondering the same thing myself.

I just changed over our plan from ED 1500 to the 40GB Family Share Pack ($20 /mo cheaper!) . I had put tethering on my phone for $20 /mo on my old plan but they made me take it off when I switched.

Does tethering just take the data out of my bucket as if I was using it on my device? Or is it a lower allotment? I wasn't able to find anything on this specifically when I was looking online. (Or I just wasn't looking hard enough lol)

Tethering is a really nice option for me to have especially when my internet goes out and I'm working remotely, or decide to go down to the park and work from there. I really hope I still have a decent tethering allotment with this new plan.

It just comes out of your allotment.

  4. I have an iPhone 6+, it definitely was compatible.

    Nope, not on Sprint

the iPhone 6+ isn't CA compatible. CA was introduced with the 6s and 6s plus which releases tomorrow.

  5. I downloaded it and the phone works well. However, it looks like carrier aggregation got turned off. I was pulling about 40-50mbps down on carrier aggregation towers and suddenly it's back down to 6-7mbps.

    You phone doesn't support CA

  6. So I went into the store and they had no idea what the plan is. AS expected because its not even out yet. They said I would have to come in tomorrow and see if they can cancel the lease buy taking back both phones and restart it right again with the same device. I then proceeded to call support right then and there, and he confirmed that what they said was true and that we "should" be able to return the 6, and 6s in the unopened box and then restart the lease on the newer pricing

They should make this easier and just let the damn promotion be adjustable.

Correct, you can cancel an existing lease within the 14 day window and resell the same handset to the same customer under the current promotion.

Since the Moto X SIM is a CSIM, once it has been registered to your account, you should be able to hot swap in the future with other CSIM compatible devices that are in the Sprint database.

I thought that CSIM swapping was something that still needed updating on Sprint's backend. Is that feature live? I thought that I read in one of the threads that Sprint needed to add the feature network side.

I don't get the surprise of not being able to put the unactivated Sprint SIM in the device and get it to work automatically. His Tmo, AT&T and VZW SIMs are already activated on accounts. Of course they can just be inserted right in. My unactivated AT&T SIMs do not boot up either until activated and linked.

I have to call in on AT&T too to activate a new SIM card. That always has to be done, because the SIM card won't know which account to connect to. This is a never been used Sprint SIM card. Needs to be linked to an account.

  8. Looking forward to the user thread from users who have trouble activating a phone they bought on Kickstarter on their Sprint account. 5 pages of SIM card skus with screenshots of their conversation with Sprint International.

If Moto/Sprint had trouble getting the Pure going on the first week, I can only imagine how a Kickstarter phone will go.

  9. any Best Buy. mobile dept folks here?

just curious about that new $200 trade in offer AND $200 port in gift card offer. I don't have devices to trade in - but like the $200 port in GC. And can you still get Sprint to pay off your equipment if bought via Sprint?

Yes, you get a $200 Best Buy gift card if you open a new line of service on Sprint (on a lease).

Sprint will pay of any device payments due if the number is ported from another carrier (can't be a Sprint Prepaid brand) and you you register at sprint.com/join2015 you have to turn in your current device for your previous carrier. You will receive the American Express gift card within 15 days of registration.

The Best Buy trade in offer is separate from the Sprint device payoff. You can't do both. If you want Sprint to pay off a device payment or contract you have to send the phone to them. Also, the Best Buy trade in offer is "up to $200", not a guaranteed $200.

  10. Despite what you think (and I WANT to agree with you) the Moto X is very much a niche device. You, my friend are at the cutting edge of non-subsidized handsets. How many Moto X Pure Editions are activated per Galaxy/ IPhone? I'd wager it's 50-1.

Make no mistake, I completely agree with you, we are solidly in the extreme minority. I hope that changes with time. I have my doubts.

Way more than 50-1. I work in mobile sales, and have several friends that work for carriers. I sent out a few quick texts this morning to 3 people that work for carriers. 2 for Sprint and one for VZW. No one has had a customer even ask about the Moto X Pure. I know this is a very tiny sample size and that most Pure customers will try to avoid carrier stores, but the silence on the device is pretty clear. The general public is very uninformed about all things mobile. They buy what they see commercials for, what they have used, or what the sales person tells them to get. The Moto X Pure is a fringe device for the general public. Unlocked devices are going to be a bigger deal in the future, but it is exactly that, the future.
