  1. I know I did not see it the last couple of times I went through the customization process, but the last time was a few days ago, at least. I'm still on the fence about this phone. I keep thinking, if I'm going to get it, I should get the 64GB one and get a wooden back, like I want, but that pushes the price up $125. So, I am waffling. One (ok, two) question(s) those of you who have it may be able to answer, though: Does the bumper case that comes with it make enough of a lip on the front and back that, when placed either face up or face down on a flat surface, only the bumper touches, and is the bumper made of TPU?

The bumper is made of hard plastic and does not seem to be liked by anyone.

    #5 addresses the bumper.

  2. Idk if anyone else has gotten theirs like mine that says Boost Virgin and Sprint. I'm guessing this is the type of Sim used on those phones from Boost n Virgin brought over to Sprint (unlocked phones).

Most Sprint SIM cards are branded for their 3 major wireless brands.

  3. Good job. The Best Buy Mobile suggestion is useful. I am not averse to paying $10 for a new UICC/SIM. For comparison, T-Mobile charges $15.

Now that you have the 2015 Moto X activated on Sprint, we need you to check a few things. Access to engineering screens is somewhat in doubt. Start by trying the classic Sprint dialer code ##DEBUG#, then report back.

The pricing for SIMs at BB are all over the place. For Sprint they carry 6 or 7 different SKUs ranging from $2.99 to $29.99. They are not customer facing merchandise. You will need to ask an employee to sell you one. I usually will "Price Match" it down to $9.99 if it rings up at the higher price. Since Sprint does not list the SIM price on their website you may have a little difficulty getting the price marked down.

  4. Got my phone, in the sprint store trying to get a Sim, taking forever

You need the right SIM card and call or take to a store to activate. If they cannot activate, tell them to look in the Playbook on 9/2/2015. There it will tell them what to do to get activated. They are allowed to whitelist the device, if necessary. But they may need to call up the chain to get it done. Don't take no for an answer. Be polite and persistent.

It would be great for the rest of us if you could detail any hiccups and how you resolved them here.

    Thanks!

Unfortunately this will be like all the other phone launches like this (Nexus 5, Nexus 6, unlocked iPhones) and there will be employees that know what they are doing, and others that don't. I keep hoping that eventually it will be more commonplace and it won't be a big deal, but with the high turnover rate that retail has it will continue to be a problem until unlocked phones are the default configuration. We keep getting closer to that being a reality every year.

  5. Will the iPhone 6s utilize sprints spark network? Also do iPhones work as good as Android phones on Sprint's network or do Android phones perform better?

    Yes on Spark.

As far as network performance. All handsets are different. There is no correct answer to your question.

  6. Just to gauge interest, if we had a new iPhone 6s raffle like we are having for the new Moto X Pure Edition, would you participate? Would you buy into the raffle?

I'm a little apprehensive to try it as the iPhone costs considerably more and it may take a lot of resources to manage without much payoff to S4GRU. Heck, we may not even collect enough to buy one and we would have to refund.

However, I know you iPhoniacs are a little more loyal and dedicated crowd. Maybe I'm underestimating you guys (and gals). Sound off and let me know if you'd participate. Thanks!

I plan on donating to every flagship device raffle that is held here. It is a fun easy way to contribute to the site with the added bonus of maybe getting a new handset. It is a can't lose situation.

  7. Does the $10 come off the $15 trade-in price for say an iPhone 6 16GB? Making it $5 a month? And then turn right around when the iPhone 6S comes out I can turn in the iPhone 6 and get the new one for $5 a month again?

The 6 Plus 16 GB shows as being $20 a month for iPhone for life with trade in. So I'm guessing that would end up costing $10 a month after the loyalty discount.

IPhone Forever http://goo.gl/U2JEBa is the new iPhone every year at $15 per month ($5 after $10 credit) with trade in.

IPhone for Life http://goo.gl/YD0j0T is just the regular 24 month lease. That one is $20 ($5 after the $15 loyalty credit), and does not require a trade in.
