  1. I'm also a 1500 ED legacy customer. Different question here. Have you guys safely upgraded through Best Buy lately? I've been out of contract and eligible for upgrade for a year. Saw the Note 5 at Best Buy for $50 today (crazy) and I'm very tempted. But I'm concerned that going through Best Buy will alter my 1500 ED in any way or add unwanted fees. This plan is a gem when you see what's going on out there now a days. The only way I give up this plan is if you pry it out of my dead cold hands :)

You will be fine. I am sure the rep will give you the option of doing a lease with loyalty credit, but Best Buy can still do 2yr upgrades on ED 1500.

  2. We currently have a 7-person Framily so with unlimited everything plus insurance and a $35 lease payment her bill is $88. I priced it out at AT&T and 15 GB is $100 but there is a $40 access fee and then her payment for the phone would be about $25 ... The bill was close to $140!

It would be a $15 access fee + device payment. You only pay $40 if you sign a 2 year contract.

  3. Anyone knows if the Nexus 6 will get native wifi calling on Sprint?

We don't know a definite answer, but the prevailing thought is we will not get it because Sprint is using a different implementation of wifi calling.

  4. I did a speed test yesterday with Sensorly/Signal Check Pro and I had the B41(2). I was getting 30+ down. I thought that little 2 was an indication that I was on CA :/

Either way, I did more tests around town (with my new N6P) and a lot of the towers seem to be much much faster. Some locations had 50+ down! :o

Last time I checked tower speed has been over a year so a lot must have changed in my area!

The 2 only indicates a second carrier is present, not necessarily 2 carriers aggregated.

  5. Tmobile raising the unlimited plan from $80 to $95 starting 11/15 is ridiculous. With music and video streaming as part of Music and Video Freedom, why would people still get the unlimited data plan at $95/mo which does not include the phone payment?

    Old Plans

    1 GB = $50

    3 GB = $60

    5 GB = $70

    Unlimited = $80

    New Plans (effective 11/15)

    2 GB = $50

    6 GB = $65

    10 GB = $70

    Unlimited = $95

I think this is the strategy to eliminate unlimited users. If Tmo kills it as an option, they are the bad guys. Instead, they slowly raise the price so that it is less appealing to new customers. As they add more "freedom" and "binge" options current $80 unlimited customers see less need for unlimited and drop to cheaper plans to save a buck or two. Eventually unlimited reaches a price point where it is just plain stupid and Tmo kills it due to lack of subscribers choosing it. You slowly reach the point where your grandfathered unlimited customers are a very small percentage of subscribers. At that point you pull away benefits (freedom and binge) from unlimited and then they can't stay under the 23GB cap and are encouraged to select one of the other throttled plans that include freedom and binge so that they can continue to use the network like they did previously.

  6. Two questions on the T-Mo femto cell...

    1. Does it still use your "Data Bucket" to use the Femto Cell that's on YOUR OWN internet connection. (Also a secondary though on this: Some internet connections are capped, so basically you're being charged twice...ie. Comcast Data Cap Trials)

    2. Would this work on Fi when on the T-Mobile side? Good question

    Just some thoughts...

    Kris

Yes, it comes out of your bucket.

  7. The only reason the store employee and manager told you to buy on payments and with port in is so they get the commission on a new line and installment billing. Employees and managers make nothing on selling you a device at full price. You can buy from Sprint.com at full price.

  8. With the service credit of $20/mo for two months, that would make the total lease cost $40 more than the price to buy the phone from HTC outright. And a purchase from HTC likely incurs sales tax, making the cost/price difference basically a wash.

    AJ

You still pay the sales tax on the lease. It is added into the monthly payment. They take the tax and divide it by 24 months and add it to the lease payments.

For example, the $20 iPhone lease is actually $21.60 (in Indiana) per month.

  9. So my two cents on Direct2U, since I've actually met the guys who do the driving (was at the Apple store when they drove up with the iPhone 6S), thus have REAL world experience and knowledge, and I can tell you that people here LOVE the service.

The rep told me that he spends most of his day driving around to different customers, sometimes their offices, sometimes their homes, even local Starbucks.

That's spreading company goodwill, that Sprint is looking to add a personal touch to the customer's purchase, something that can't be bought.

How dare you bring experience and knowledge to the discussion. That will have no place on the internet.

  10. Direct to you is a waste of money. If we were in 2009-2010? Great idea. 2015? Everyone and their grandma has a smartphone now. I'd bet most current flipphone owners today don't have long for this earth, aren't gonna be long term customers. Not the market Sprint should be targeting.

Thank you! Someone sees where I'm coming from. Im pretty sure most people have had some type of galaxy or iphone and don't really need to be taught how to use them. Thats what the instruction booklet is for and tech reviews. Not hard to look on up they are all over youtube. Point is I barely hear people say they dont know how to use there phone unless they are old or one of those people that asks questions about everything.

You are giving the average consumer way to much credit for their smartphone knowledge. Anyone that works in mobile retail will strongly disagree. A lot, and I mean a lot, of smartphone users don't even know how to transfer their contacts. A lot of people using Android devices don't even know they have a Google account. A lot of iPhone users say "What is icloud?". You both are making the mistake of assuming that because you know something, every else must also know it. Users of this forum are the exception, not the rule.

  11. They are corporate stores but are not fully stocked. Chat with international chat and say you need a sim cars for a moto x PE and they'll send you a csim 4ff v5 straight away no BS.

Not all Sprint Shacks are corporate.

  12. Then there's the Best Buy crew. I went there to see what's up. All they tried to do was get me to get their $55 or $85 plan, and walk out with a new phone for free. I didn't bite on that.

Any suggestions? I need to speak with the higher ups it seems lol

    Isn't $55 + $25 cheaper than $80 + $10? Over 2 years it saves $240 going with the Best Buy plan.

  13. I've never used the SprintZone App, it was one of the bloatware apps I always did my best to get rid of. What is it's purpose/function?

It is handy for people on shared data plans. You can track usage as a whole, or by individual in near real time. It is also very easy to report network problems in app.
