  1. It does band 12 for Tmobile so I will probably get one. Does anyone know if it will have an external antenna port?
  2. I took a drive around the Uncanoonuc mountain again today. It seems that I wasn't able to get the 1x800 signal there like last time. Looking up some older data shows that Sprint or Nextel had permits for up there. They need to light up a tower there with 800mhz. Tmobile has most bands up there and the signal stomps on the surrounding area very well. Band 12 travels a good 12 miles west of there. Does anyone know the history of Sprint having towers online up there or if they are able to turn anything back on? I can upload some pictures if anyone can identify some of these old offline towers.
  3. I see Cricket's CDMA network is being shut down tomorrow. Is Sprint going to acquire any towers from this? Some of them have to be redundant with AT&T's network. Also did Sprint get anything from the MetroPCS CDMA shutdown? It seems like AT&T and Verizon are gobbling up everything.
  4. It looks like there is no Roaming + enhancements in the Northeast.
  5. I have a couple of PRL questions. One of my phones allows me to update PRL VIA wifi. Another phone does not. Does you location affect the PRL update you get? For instance, if I update the PRL near a certain tower does that become my base? So would it be best to update the PRL in each area you are in. I do a lot of travelling.
  6. Has anyone drove around Lake Tahoe to see where there is LTE? North Shore is my old stomping ground and I had Sprint when I left in 2003 which worked well in Incline Village. I see some talk about South Lake but nothing else. I see Elko, Wendover and Eureka mentioned here. Maybe a Great Basin Market would be fitting for any activity in the Great Basin (IE 90% of Nevada and about half of Utah.
  7. I have found 1x800 in a few places in NH so far. First, in the Goffstown to Manchester area. I think the tower on the Uncanoonuc mountain is transmitting it. Also, up in Lebanon there is a stout 1x800 signal that travels pretty far. Last night I was actually able to browse with a 1x800 signal and download an app in Rindge NH. I am still learning how to id towers so I am not sure what kind of range there is.
  8. Just took a trip down through Peterborough to Rindge. I had a steady 1x800 signal on the main drag and it was usable inside Hannaford with about 30-60k per second downloads. I am new to cell ids but it had the same number as the 1x800 signal I had in Lebanon on Monday. I am not sure if it is the same tower or not. Regardless, I also picked up a weak band 26 in Hannaford parking lot there tonight. I am able to say that the signal down there just edges out Verizon.
  9. I was in Lebanon nh today and there is a big 1x800 signal all throughout the town and a ways south. Also in the Goffstown Manchester area.
  10. Thanks for the quick answer. So there is no special file or anything that will make the performance better? I suppose I will have to toggle airplane mode.
  11. My nexus 5 doesn't seem to switch to LTE from 3g when coming into service. Does anyone know why the phone would do this? Most times I have to reboot it or switch airplane mode on and off to get it to connect.
  12. I went to the cell sites at South Uncanoonuc mountain today. I mapped it on Cellmapper. There doesn't seem to be anything from Sprint on the site besides maybe 1x800. I get a fairly strong 1x800 signal there. This is probably the same signal I get down in Goffstown. There are a couple of abandoned sites there. I took some pictures of a smaller tower that doesn't have anything on it now. Hopefully Sprint can setup something here because pretty much anywhere west of Manchester has next to nothing.
  13. I travel past the Uncanoonuc mountains near Goffstown daily where there are a lot of transmitters. Sprint's signal is almost non existent towards Goffstown. I don't think they are using a tower at the top of those mountains. I am going to take a trip up there within the next few weeks and see if there is a signal. It seems there is an old Nextel tower at the top of one of the mountains that is not being used. I wish they would utilize any towers they may have there. Looking on Sprint's upgrade site doesn't show any activity there but if you look up the licenses, Sprint's name is mentioned. I will report back with any findings.
  14. Ive had pretty good luck with Sprint in the back of stores with 3g. It gets me enough data to browse the web efficiently and make calls. However since getting my Nexus 5 I have much greater coverage with the band 26 LTE.
  15. I tracked the signal this morning from Goffstown to Manchester and my nexus 5 has a strong 1x800 signal the whole way. I am unable to really get any data from it however. For some reason this phone won't stay on LTE for long and it reverts to a lesser signal. Is 1x800 supposed to have data?
  16. Areas west of Manchester are pretty spotty. No LTE once you get outside of Manchester. I believe Sprint has a tower atop Pat's Peak ski resort as there is fair coverage in that vicinity. (3g) Other than that there is really nothing. Most of the highways have no signal or maybe 0-1 bars of 1xrtt. I noticed 1x800 around Goffstown but I wasn't able to do any type of speedtest on it. Is Sprint doing any upgrades outside of the cities in NH? They really need to put up a couple of towers so there is at least basic coverage along the highways.
  17. Thanks lilo, however GMO is not in the site's glossary.
  18. Dk I am using FreedomPop. I don't get the little spinning logo at the top of the screen. I'm not sure if spark functions using their service. I've had the phone for a week.
  19. what is a GMO site? Are you up near the border? Presque Isle?
  20. Not sure if this is old news but I was able to connect to all 3 LTE bands in Hazleton this evening. I have a Nexus 5. It doesn't have the spark option but I am able to get data on each band. I was near Kmart and I was on band 25 and 26 for awhile. When leaving Kmart it briefly showed me connected to band 41. I wasn't able to test band 41 but my LTE discovery app showed it. I don't see any spark capability on the Sprint map but at least the whole area is covered with LTE.
  21. Does anyone have information on what Sprint will be doing with the Wimax protection sites that are out in rural areas? Will they be converted to Sprint LTE or 3g or will they be abandoned or could other carriers be picking them up? There are a few areas that have Wimax and no LTE anywhere near there so I would like to know if these sites will lose. Please bear with me as I do not understand the backhaul requirements for these sites that are in the middle of nowhere. Are the sites connected via microwave or possibly some type of cable?
  22. Why are the signals measured in -dbm. It is confusing because of the - sign. why isn't it +dbm or just dbm
  23. Is there a way to map out 800mhz lte as opposed to 1900? I am looking to see what expanded coverage I would get with 800mhz lte in New Hampshire. I have been mapping on Sensorly.
  24. I noticed a lot of rural 2g sprint coverage on the sensorly map but when I drive through those areas I am not getting a signal in a lot of those places. Does Sprint's roaming partners signal show up on the sensorly maps for Sprint?
