WiMAX in Visalia was always hit or miss for me. I hope they add some new towers when they start doing their broader band 41 deployment.

Yeah, I'm impressed that the signal reaches as far as downtown. It probably fades out pretty quickly once you start getting some buildings in the way.

I'm kinda fearful that Clovis wont 3G launch until Fresno is closer to 3G launch. Then again, Sacramento hasn't launched but the surrounding communities have. Just freaking do it already. Knock down the Rodeo site if you have to.

Madera needs some new towers on the west side of town, I must say.

Fresno may be having a contractor problem as well. There's still only one city site that is done, and that was done back in September or October. Speaking of October, the permit for the Clovis rodeo grounds site has been issued for about that long. Have they done anything to the site yet? Nooooooo, of course not. Why would you bother working on the site that would be right in the middle of a nice 3G cluster launch? I'm wondering if it will be one of those "accepted" sites like the one south of Fowler, the one off akers/198 in Visalia, and the one west of Farmersville; 3G accepted, but no new panels. What sucks about the rodeo site is that I would have to go into full blown lurk mode in order to get a peek at the base station. Given that there's a middle school and a neighborhood playground right beneath the site and the police station just down the street, I would probably end up being noticeably absent from S4GRU for a period of time to be determined by a judge.

Fresno/Clovis and Sacramento are the only sizable launches that are left in the civilized part of CA... Even the funkytown that is Madera is 3G accepted. I don't know where Sac town stands but Clovis is probably next. Fresno... Fresno is mystifying.

Hopefully there wont be too many backhaul issues. I would hope not, given how long it has taken for the 3G launch to occur.

Granted, there are only two large scale deployments left in the LCV for NV (3G, at least), those being Fresno and Bakersfield. BK will go first, no question.
