  1. This is where I actually got it from originally. It should work.
  2. I downloaded the apk from a third party. It installed and then the phone reboot with the new notification drawer. It worked fine and it even got rid of the annoying Sprint name that was added on the upper left corner. Let me know if you need me to upload the copy I used.
  3. Install Good Lock. It brings some refreshing changes to the notifications and app manager drawer.
  4. Just when this phone finally gets a breath of fresh air with the update, I'm forced to part ways with it. I began a claim to fix a microphone issue that has been erratic for some time now. Insurance tells me that since they have no replacements available, they are going to send me a check for the value of the phone. It's a bitter sweet moment. This phone may have been the best, worst phone I have ever owned. It has an endless amount of features, but was plagued by random memory issues for most of its lifetime. Now with OS 6.0.1, the phone is a joy to use once again. After installing the Good Lock app (which I highly recommend to everyone with an S5) the Galaxy S5 looks and feels as good as any other new phone out there today. I'm happy I get to move on, but saddened that I have to leave a phone behind that Samsung has finally figured out. After the update, the Galaxy S5 just feels right. Unfortunately, I will only live with the bad memories. Pour one for out for my GS5...Cue the ghetto gif...
  5. That blows. Samsung ads SD Card slot again...one step forward. Samsung locks down phone w/ Knox...two steps back.
  6. For me, most ad block apps would cause my phone to act as if it didn't have access to Internet at times. It would also mess with the Facebook app as well. A quick trip to airplane mode and back resolved the issue, but still...it got annoying. I do enjoy the features of rooting, but I don't enjoy the fact that I have to root to gain some features and lose warranty.
  7. Adblock is a really nice feature. I used to customize my ROM alot, but I would usually mess around with Xposed a bit too much and end up soft bricking my phone. Im currently rooted, but I only use it for SCP at the moment. Adblock seems to make my internet browser time out a lot.
  8. Sure is. I'm a bit of a boyscout. The router is still technically property of Sprint so I'm not messing with it until the full year is up.
  9. I'm sure they do, but to be honest wifi calling has been a slight hit and miss. It works most of the time, but on rare occasions there is a slight delay that grows as the call session goes on. I have the Sprint router paired with Time Warner Cable internet (sub 30 Ms ping to a server 50 miles away). To top it off, I also experience missed calls every blue moon when my phone switches back and forth from wifi to the Sprint Network. Unless you really need it (for example, if 1x800 doesn't cut it), then I would just avoid it. But if a free router is what you have in mind, then by all means go for it. It's a pretty decent dual band router that gets the job done. Coverage is way better than the old Linksys that I had since mid 2006.
  10. Don't forget to add that there simply isn't enough spectrum...or usable spectrum.
  11. Your limit is still 300 MB, or 0.3 GB.
  12. So if we throw formalities to the side, all Sprint is doing is getting a loan to pay off another loan??? Maybe a merger between #3 and #4 is the end game here.
  13. Just a heads up. If you root and then you do a self activation (##72786#), your phone will fail and get stuck attempting to activate over and over again. Of course, your phone is already activated but that means you'll have to deal with the constant notification and random 'Self Activation' screen at the most random times. So do not attempt to dial ##72786# into the dialer.
  14. Fremont Casinos are not Sprint friendly at all...but then again their blackjack tables are not gambling friendly either. I think I only saw a very weak 1x every time I was inside a casino at Fremont. The strip on the other hand has working 3G at the very minimum almost everywhere (except the hotel rooms...those hit every carrier equally bad.)
  15. It's good moderating because the conversation was getting off topic. Other than that, there wasn't anything wrong with the discussions.
  16. Bullying? I can't say I've seen it. I've seen disagreements in which egos get in the way of open discussions, but not bullying on this board.
  17. To be fair, Sprint has been in debt for the longest. So I'm sure that's not the reason why they won't expand considering they are moving forward with densifying the network.
  18. I think you're reading too much into the ad. I honestly don't know why you would bring up 'white people'. You're looking for something that simply isn't there. Socioeconomically insensitive? You could make an argument. But a race issue? Nope. I will say that while I didn't find anything wrong with the ad, I do find it highly ineffective as an attack ad. Give me results, not perceptions!
  19. I honestly didn't see anything wrong with that ad...and I grew up in the ghetto, so the PC crowd needs to chill.
  20. When he says clusters, he means neighborhoods or areas. For example, you may see band 12 pop up West of the Franklin Mountains, followed by downtown/UTEP, then Fort Bliss/Airport, etc. Of course, this is just an example. Who knows where T-Mobile will start.
  21. I've tried turning on LTE roaming, but it won't stay on after a reset. The CA option turns on, but it just says 'not configured' on the connections display.
  22. I just want root access. I don't plan on changing anything cosmetically now that I know Samsung Good Lock app can be installed on our phones. It actually shows when your phone is sending/receiving data and "4G, 3G or 1x". I just want root access to delete bloatware. Thanks for the link though!
  23. What about the licenses that were C-Spire bound? If they didn't get withdrawn, then Sprint probably has something else up their sleeves in the deep south.
  24. Anyone try to root yet? If so, anyone have a quick guide on how? I can't a guide anywhere.
