  1. I got that same issue the night of the release. It kept asking me to send a text to verify my account. I did it three times in a row and on the fourth try it told me to call or visit the store because of the same reason you saw (very weird). At the point, I gave up and went to bed thinking I wouldn't get the iPhone X until December. The next day, I checked and Sprint still had stock (yay for me, worrisome for Sprint), so I logged back in through Chrome incognito mode and everything went smoothly. Give incognito mode a try. If not, call Sprint sales.
  2. Looks like they finally ran out of their initial stock. Any orders past 5 PM today for both 64GB models will now ship by November 14.
  3. Maybe the slow website put off a lot of people. Combine heavy website traffic with an already slow website full of layers on top of layers and you got a recipe for a disaster. With most of their stock still showing as shipping by Nov 3, I hope they don't get slaughtered by journalists.
  4. Quite interested in knowing this too. RF performance is the most underrated feature of phones today. Being able to hold LTE longer usually translates to a better experience
  5. Either Sprint got a generous stock of iPhones or the iPhone X hype was extremely overblown. If you go to the "My Order" page and scroll to the bottom, the Space Gray and Silver 64 GB + Silver 256 GB are available for shipping on Nov 3. Only the Space Gray 256 GB seems to ship at a later day (Nov 14).
  6. With the website already being slow and the preorder process being buggy as hell, I gave up. I was trying to do a 2 year renewal but the Sprint site wouldn't process my payment. On the bright side, I did get a 4-5 week shipping reservation from Apple since they couldn't verify my information with Sprint. I'll just go to bed and try this again tomorrow.
  7. Flash the Unlocked or Verizon firmware into your Sprint S8+, slip in the correct Verizon SIM, and you should be good to go.
  8. I'm leaning against the merger for the sake of jobs and competition. But if they're allowed to merge, then this should be a condition. If we are going to reduce the number of carriers from four to three in urban areas, then we may as well increase the number of rural carriers from two to three.
  9. Just remember to use responsibly. You may receive a strongly worded letter from Sprint if you use a ton of Data while roaming.
  10. Just remember that data roaming agreements always change. USCC may not be counted today, but could it could be in the future (Western Kansas for example was counted as native, then as pure roaming, then as Extended Network). Keep this in mind before changing plans. 100 MB may not be enough after the next roaming negotiations.
  11. Agreed. These new uploads are quite terrible and very noticeable. They should have waited until they got B25+B41 CA figured out to pull this stunt. I'm getting sub 100 kbps speeds in a lot of places.
  12. Even if they do announce a merger, there are still many hurdles to jump through. I have a funny feeling thay this gets blocked by the justice department. This is a job killer, plain and simple.
  13. Especially since it's not his property. I'm sure Sprint doesn't appreciate this.
  14. Of course it's going to be better. Nexus 6P B41 2CA vs. iPhone 8 B41 3CA & B25 2CA. It's not a fair comparison.
  15. There's no map, but we do know that Sprint doesn't allow AT&T LTE roaming inside most major markets and the counties surrounding them. Sprint handsets just won't connect to AT&T in cities such as New York, Dallas, or LA. With Connecticut being so small, chances are that your county is too close to Hartford. You'll probably have to drive North into Vermont before you see any AT&T.
  16. Just a heads up, there is no data roaming in major metro areas and the counties that form it's MSA. CDMA data roaming on Verizon is just about dead and it's only used for voice now. AT&T LTE works, but once you cross certain county lines, you're SOL. Also, certain services/sites are blocked by Sprint (mostly videos). Sprint should update it's data maps to better reflect the new LTE roaming agreement with At&t.
  17. Ping is too low and upload is too high for this to be on LTE. This has to be a fake.
  18. At&t buying Dish? Not a chance! Now if Dish were to divest their unused spectrum, then that's a different story.
  19. It should be a top priority. Upload is very important as more and more people upload pictures, videos, and host live streams on social media. Those UL speeds reflect this. Too many people uploading junk to the internet. Personally, I don't get the need for people to have their lives displayed 24/7. But I'm sure I'm in the minority...now get off my lawn.
  20. Have you ever been to one of their stores? It's so bloody annoying. The Apple Store is one of the reasons I can't own an Apple phone. Walk in for a purchase, and the blue shirts will swarm you. Walk in for a repair, and they'll avoid you like the plague. And maybe this is just me, but every store I've been to just rubs me off as smug. If you need your phone serviced you have to make an appointment, which at times can take up to a week. Sure, you can always mail it in, but that means being without a phone for over a week and a half. With Google and Fi, they'll just overnight you a replacement for warranty claims. There's no taking time off your day to drive to a crowded shopping center and losing time waiting for them to service your phone.
  21. Google has done the same for their phones (Nexus/Pixels). And they don't have the annoying stores where you are forced to make an appointment and wait for a repair. Google just replaces your phone for even the smallest of issues.
  22. You said the prices have gone up for the last couple of years but this is the first year the base model has seen a price hike. It went up from 649 to 699.
  23. This is absolutely false. The latest iPhone always started at $649 MSRP. This is the first year in which the iPhone started at $699 (while they did bump the storage memory, everyone and their Mamas know memory is cheap)
  24. I also can't figure out how to edit my posts on mobile. I guess my "Tuesday" and other typos will just have to stay up. Gotta love Gesture typing.
