  1. God I wish I could. That looks incredibly fun. I wonder how they managed to close down all those streets to film that.

That meant even blocking off the Bay Bridge, to a degree. While it looks in the video like the bridge is completely empty of traffic, the California Highway Patrol simply slowed down cars for a short while, leaving a broad expanse for the production crew to shoot their scenes in front of them. It was all done in just a couple of takes.

“Usually when you do a shot like that, (you) take a lot of time to set up the camera and get the camera moving perfectly,” said Block. “Because we had such a short amount of time out on the bridge, it was done very rushed.

“I don’t think we interrupted traffic too much that Saturday morning,” said Block. “But I thank the citizens of San Francisco for putting up with us. And let me make a few tire marks on the bridge.”

As for those tread marks on the bridge and on city streets? “Well, you shouldn’t be able to see those anymore,” said Susannah Greason Robbins with the citys Film Commission. “Production is required to hire the city to come and clean up those marks.”

Filming took four days of off-hours shooting. There were no Muni disruptions, no commute traffic was blocked.

The city’s take: one million dollars for what is essentially a 10-minute commercial for skateboard shoes, which are seen for about 20 seconds.

  2. I live in Daly City. 4g has been there for maybe 4 months at least. And I get the same results as you still.

Where is Daly City are you? Cause 4g is fine in most parts for me. But Westlake is always borked for some reason. I get weaker 4g signal in some parts of Daly City that work fine. Something is up at Westlake.

  3. Anyone live near Westlake in Daly City? Every time I go there for the last 2 weeks the 4g signal is very strong but completely unusable. Can't download anything. I have to go into a store to force it onto 3g in order to do anything. I know it may be in progress. But it's been 2 weeks now if not more.

Can anyone check if they have the same problems near there.

  4. I'm visiting SF this weekend and am impressed by both the coverage if the 4g here and the speed. In OC, 4g is much less widespread.

  5. Sorry it's taken me this long to reply, I never got an email notification. I got the standard free Sprint shipping online, which apparently is UPS Next Day Air Saver. I from the look of things got lucky and my device shipped right away, because of the holiday and long weekend it'll be here on Tuesday. I can't wait till I have it, now I just need NV to come to my area and I'll finally be good!

What's your market? Damn i wanted to see how q10 performed in lte areas.

  6. I just noticed I'm getting an 800mhz SMR signal in my house. Its not very strong, and what's weird is signal check pro located the tower all the way over in sausalito!

If that's true, the distance that signal is traveling is impressive!

What site do you normally connect to? Since there is none on Treasure Island. East bay, sf or north bay? or some combo of all 3. Im surprised there is no site on TI

  7. I got mine, but unfortunately the $99 is only for new customers with the $100 "Bring your # bonus." It's $199.99 for anyone else, kinda sad with how late they've gotten it compared to other carriers.

How long is delivery supposed to take?

  8. @DBSynergy over in the SF Bay thread posted the reported coordinates of a 1x 800 tower he connected to, and I checked it with the site map - it corresponds almost exactly to a Sprint cell site. It's looking more and more like Samsung markets, or at least the SF Bay Area and South Bay, have 1x 800 towers reporting the correct position pretty much exactly. That's nice to know, and can be confirmed as more 1x 800 towers come online.

I got a similar result with my 800 signal in the bay area too. I posted my pic there. Address lines up exactly with a sprint site. Is this the same in every samsung market? Does that mean Robert can start marking user reported samsung sites as accepted for 800? :D at least just sf market!

But now is there a marker color for 3G/800 but no 4G?
