  1. Q1 of 2014 I believe Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. I'm pretty sure once we get the spark updated (Walmart icon included), everything will be kosher. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  3. Well I think its been said before (and I'm assuming), that its hit and miss on connection to band 41 sites due to the n5 not officially being "spark capable" yet. Seems like your only options are to try a few times or forget it and wait for the update hopefully coming out soonish. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  4. Did you try and profile update followed by a prl update? A few threads ago a few people mentioned that working for them. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. I was a fan of keeping a running note of what I added and when, also the less legit sources many install trying to get the really cool tweaks/apps for free, or just trying to get an app that's been pulled for some reason lead to these issues too. Basically if the caution pops up when adding the repo don't use it, unless you know its ok and are willing to risk a PITA. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. I'm willing to bet its user error, incomparable tweaks/running too many. I've jaikbroken from the original bootrom exploitable 3gs up the 5(then swapped to a nexus because sprint doesn't offer the 5 in store and I couldn't use mine from att). I had over 45 tweaks running on my 5 all at the same time without a signal error or mobile substrate respringing into safemode. You just have to be really careful adding tweaks for a few weeks after it comes out because no one knows how they're going to interact together yet(and cydia still has kinks to be ironed out due to the premature jailbreak release by evad3rs to supposedly "beat" another group to it). 7. You do to load it the way I did(through twrp), I'm not sure about doing it through fastboot commands. If you read the xda thread linked a few times in the past few pages the OP should inform you. Side bar spigen hybrid ultra cases in black are on sale for 9.99 on amazon right now, including a screen protector for free! Other colors cost 11.99, including the new red one for of you wishing you'd waited for the red nexus 5. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. Hmm out in the boonies where I am it gave me a 9dbm improvement on average(and it seems to hold on to LTE better inside buildings, including tin cans like Walmart). Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. This was from inside a building on the .15 radio, a 12 mb increase over .17 radio in the same spot. I dont have the .17 test (I'm assuming it timed out on the upload and didn't save). Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. Its been a few pages but the .15 radio smokes .17 by 5-8 dbm easily. Out in the middle of nowhere last on the lowest story of a three story house, in the middle of a valley surrounded by hills I was able to pull a 105-110 dbm signal on band 25. Previously I had to be by a window to pull a 118-125dbm signal. Sadly I have to stay on .17 while at home due to the towers broadcasting LTE near me aren't ecsfb ready to the best of my knowledge (will connect to unusable LTE or will show no signal but in the engineering screen it shows an LTE connection. 11. Well yeah its possible but super expensive(and I'm the type of person who gets a car with the intent to drive it more than 2500 miles a year). Not only do they not sell them but you can't import them or get them via the "kit car" method...the feds/DOT have a vendetta against Japanese's luxury cars it seems. I'd be all for a bike except I'm in an area where I'd be SOL half the year due to weather and the types of roads around here, all wheel drive is a life saver.
  12. Lucky duck, you can get a skyline. I mean you can get one legally lol .
  13. The way I see it is that you at least need a bachelors nowadays (too many experienced older workers and people with higher level degrees these days taking all the jobs lol).
  14. I assumed my pixilated pictures and videos(all downloaded mind you) was due to being on 3g most of the time. I'll have to check again when I get back on LTE, and possibly open a ticket with Sprint.
  15. Well I have yet to see how much I'll get from any of the comp sci schools, but my favorite one so far is from 15-20k a year depending on the rooming situation, and is actually about the same cost as med school(the schooling after your bachelor's degree), if I get zero scholarships there.
  16. Also for everyone advising real work experience over/in addition to extra schooling, three of the 4 schools I'm currently looking at offer what they call "ways to pay" for school. Essentially you work at campus facilities doing work applicable to the degree you're pursuing and they pay you around 15$ an hour in addition to gaining hands on experience. The examples they give are maintaining the campus network, website, and various computer systems(plus I'm a huge fan of internships, so I figured over the summer I would try to get In a few places. I'm really hoping for the Riot Games office in STL, I have one inside connection).
  17. Thanks for the links Digi, those were interesting reads.
  18. Some of us are oddballs who enjoy looking at computer screens for 12+ hours a day . I personally have pulled a straight week of gaming before (mini fridges stocked with food In room and only the occasional bathroom breaks...man that was one interesting week of being snowed in), it was loads of fun for my friends and I.
  19. I really think I might go ahead and grab a PhD, I have my general college requirments (basic standards all schools require) already. Plus apparently a "full time student" is someone taking 12-13 credit hours a semester -_-(which explains why generations seem dumber as we continue on), where as I'm comfortable with 17-18 credit hours, I've done it before(still have time to game/chill however and spend quality time with the opposite gender ). So pathing things out itd be the same time it'd normally take to get a masters degree maybe less. Plus I don't plan on living in my current area (MO weather is bipolar and super fickle) so having the option to teach for a bit could come in handy. I'm definitely going to do my best to become profectient in 3-5 languages by the end of the summer, I just need to find a few decent books or possibly a something on the interwebs for a guide.
  20. The main ones I'm having trouble giving up are to SLU. They're 46-48 thousand dollars a semester including room and board, I received a few through the school and one based through alumni(for 14k a semester that I only get if I go pre med). I basically would end up paying 6k a year to go there(pretty cheap for them actually). Itd be a very good deal for pre med schooling.
  21. Ah so it just adds another career path, thanks for explaing.
  22. If I may ask, why didn't you/why aren't you ever going to get your PHD? I was planning on going after one myself.
  23. Im really not looking at it for the money(granted the fact that it pays around and into over 100k a year is a bonus ), I was the odd little kid who took apart a computer when he was 7 because he wanted to see how it worked. I love building computers (new to it however due to the cost involved), I'm the person in my family/friend circle who gets asked to look at all things technological before they get taken to a repair store. I really don't know very much in any programming language, just barely enough java to make the odd minecraft modd and a really tiny bit of c++. As for passion/determination, I've always been a techie and I do love a challenge. That was my number one reason I picked med school, I need a challenge because I pick up things easily but school has always been the easiest(I graduated high school two years early with a tiny bit over 80 college credits from an actual college, not dual credit). I've never really felt an inclination one way or another except for technology and video games(but pro gaming isn't really a stable carrier if you're looking to eventually have a family lol).
  24. So many quick responses, I can't Google things fast enough to keep up xD. I really appreciate all of you guys taking the time to respond, I have a lot of new things to become acquainted with!
  25. That's what I'm considering giving up scholarships for, at St Louis University in case anyone was curious(pre med: neuro surgery). The major downsides are Obama care has effectively made private practice unprofitable and is leading to severe pay cuts already at hosptials(I have a cousin whos a general practicioner at a hospital and the new people they've hired have been hired for 140k less a year than she was three years ago). Its basically turned into a game of law suits, either suing to get your money from people without insurance or getting sued sheerly as an attempt to get "free money" by the people you help. It seems a lot less worthwhile to put in 5-6 years (due to having 80 hours worth of college credits at my high school graduation) and have all the debt from med school now (scholarships do not transfer past your 4 year:(...).
