  1. My dad is still getting working WiMax on his EVO 4G in St. Louis. There is a tower right next to the building he works in.
  2. The one and only milan03 on why BingeOn won't break the network, complete with anecdotal evidence. https://np.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/3unrek/personal_thoughts_on_binge_on_in_dense_urban/ Note this a NP (no participation) link. Commenting and voting is not allowed.
  3. T-Mobile is just upgrading their AIR21 equipment to AIR32 for 4x2MIMO support. AIR21 only supports 2x2MIMO, so AIR32 will enable 4x2MIMO in Ericsson markets. NSN markets have had capable equipment deployed for about a year now. Nobody can launch 4x4MIMO until devices support 4x receive diversity. There are currently no announced devices with that support. Sprint's 8T8R equipment has been ready for that since day one. As soon as there are devices that support it, Sprint can enable it.
  4. Verizon device is the Droid Turbo. Sprint device is a Kyocera Hydro Icon, not the Torque. The Torque has hardware keys.
  5. Maybe a year or two to be substantially complete, but not a year or two for significant deployment. We're already seeing better use of BRS/EBS with the addition of a band 41 carrier. Densification starts Q1 2016, not in a year.
  6. That Sprint, without a doubt. There's a segment of no LTE along I-70 just to the east of Terre Haute IN that's been there for ages and it shows on USCC'S map.
  7. You misunderstand memory. Empty memory is wasted memory. Near 100% use is exactly what you want from memory, because the OS is maximizing its use. My 6hr average is 1.4GB and the phone is just as snappy as it was when I started it.
  8. AWS-3 in the pipeline, along with LTE-LAA (if properly utilized) should provide enough capacity for the near term. They still have PCS spectrum left for refarming as well.
  9. They are not forcing you to give them the last four to turn off bingeon. Please just wait until the feature is actually enabled tomorrow before blaming T-Mobile for making things difficult.
  10. Beamforming is being deployed along with carrier aggregation. When announcements like this are made the technology is typically already deployed.
  11. Fierce leaked the X16 modem specs earlier today. The X16 supports 4xCA. Devices are set to be commercially available this summer, so it's not that far off. http://www.reddit.com/r/sprint/comments/3t5q6q/_/
  12. Existing customers don't get bingeon until Thursday. You'll have to wait till then to opt out.
  13. Running through the "Give me a hint" quotes. Here are some notable ones Lots of references to half and savings. Here's one I found kinda silly
  14. Cheaper plans? https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/666124694009966592 Also Marcelo says they're feeling really good about the new plans. https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/666124999271419904
  15. https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/3syjgm/tmobile_at_morgan_stanley_european_technology/ Great insight into T-Mobile and what they are doing/will be doing moving forward. Most notably, Carter mentions how they are moving away from unlimited (not suprising).
  16. Some people can't see it yet but if you click on the map in a 700MHz area it will be in the popup.
  17. They also added a toggle to view without 700MHz coverage if you click on an area where 700MHz is deployed.
  18. And now Sprint is announcing new plans this week. Wonder what this entails... https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/665635529300439040
  19. Official press release is out http://newsroom.sprint.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=12057
  20. Calls to France are free until further notice https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/665407051229749248
  21. Going from a non-triband S4 to a tri-band S6 would make a huge difference. The main reason the S4 isn't getting LTE is because it's missing Sprint's low frequency band (800MHz). In simplest terms, lower frequency means the signal is useable over a wider area. The S4 only supports a single band on the 1900MHz spectrum, which is not useable over as large of an area compared to 800MHz. Spark (2500MHz) has slightly worse range than 1900MHz, but it also has much more capacity and higher speeds. There's no guarantee that 800MHz will make a difference in your particular area, but it will definitely make a difference market-wide. Sprint has mature 800MHz deployment in the St. Louis market.
