  1. I didn't see anything announced Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk 2
  2. http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Camera-comparison-One-X-vs-Galaxy-S-II-vs-Nexus-vs-N8-vs-iPhone-4S_id3006/
  3. Samsung has really won me over the last year, so they would have to have some MAJOR steps backward to lose me. I thought the HTC One camera was getting bad reviews? I would have to compare displays to be sure, but I read that dark colors don't do so well in the HTC display. GNex is all I am familiar with and compared to the E4GT, the GNex display wins, pentile screen and all.
  4. Here is the quote in that article: It is still speculation at this point. I'll hold my disappointment until it is confirmed. Qualcomm needs to stop hogging all the LTE capability...
  5. Was this confirmed? All I have seen is quad core in all the releases.
  6. That's the great thing about developers. They bring the newest software to the older devices. Hopefully the government renews their rule that rooting/jailbreaking is legal. I'd hate to see the development community be stifled in any way.
  7. I figured out the website that I got it from and posted it in the Sansung section http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/896-boot-animations-for-galaxy-nexus/
  8. I finally located the website that I downloaded a few flashable boot animations from long ago. http://gunnermike53.com/Themers/jaekar99/Galaxy-Nexus-403/ there are a ton of them on there.
  9. I think it is the AOSP ROM's GPS drivers not being fully worked out. My HTC Hero had issues with the GPS not working with cyanogenmod. As soon as I unrooted to bring it in to the Sprint store to see about a replacement, it started working again.
  10. I'm not sure what ROM they are using in the video. I have a flashable zip for that boot animation that I can e-mail to you. I have not been able to find the boot animation again after I initially downloaded it... If you want the zip, send me your e-mail in a PM and I will gladly share it. P.S. I'm not sure what the aspect ratio is, it may not look as good on your phone...
  11. If a user knows what they are doing, they can make it nearly impossible to prove that they rooted the phone. You can unroot and flash the stock rom, relock the bootloader and reset the flash count. You would have to work pretty hard to prove that the phone was rooted. Now, if someone walks in to the Sprint store and says "the GPS on my phone heats up the phone, kills the battery in a few minutes and then shuts off the phone" and you pick it up and it is running a custom ROM that doesn't properly have the GPS configured, you have them red-handed. Did that specific user root the phone though?
  12. Every time I went to the sprint store and the employees noticed that my phone was rooted, it was like they elevated me to a higher class of customer. They stopped spewing the corporate monologue as they knew I could understand technical talk. It was rather nice. Recently, I was in the verizon store and the rep asked to see my phone. He did a power cycle and when the splash screen came up with this animation (just the boot animation from this video) he laughed until I saw some tears and showed it to the other store employees. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSfguC021kE
  13. I don't think that it has that much to do with activating another antenna. If the phone is searching for LTE connection, or searching for a stronger connection, it will use battery, regardless of the antenna used. 1x and EV-DO are both on 1900mhz now and even if the phone is connected to 1x, it burns through the battery looking for EV-DO and stronger connections of 1x.
  14. Considering Amazon was said to be losing a couple bucks on the hardware at launch, to sell it for $60 less than reg price with a full warranty, as you said, unbelievable deal! Even if it is "reconditioned," they still stand behind the product and will fix or replace anything wrong with it. As I said earlier, I was having ghosting/screen burn in issues, and after 10 minutes or so on the phone with a rep, there was another Kindle Fire on its way to my house. The replacement works perfect.
  15. This was the second time they had this deal, so keep your eyes open for another deal. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  16. Rooting and romming this is kind of a pain. All my settings were incorrect on my computer. I worked through it, so if anyone has problems with rooting the kf, send me a PM. I'm trying out gedeROM right now. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
