  1. Knowing that this report exists, it seems like that might be a worthwhile investment. Just a few months of improvement could see a complete 180 on Sprint's performance in the top 50 airports, at least. Imagine everyone's shock if Sprint just cleaned house in the next iteration of this report...
  2. I'm in the same boat. Too bad I missed the Lightning deal on Amazon the other day where they were selling the 32GB version for $399 [emoji58]
  3. That's probably the worst combined grammar and logic I've ever seen in a single post. His joke wasn't funny to you. Enough. Let's move past it.
  4. It's not really a fair comparison considering ED 1500 isn't available to new subscribers now, while this deal is.
  5. At least with respect to your statement regarding Sprint, that's totally contingent upon enough spectrum being up for grabs in each market to even activate the reserve. From what I understand, it's not as though the first 30MHz are reserved and whatever's left is unreserved spectrum; in fact it is almost precisely the opposite. How this auction turns out will depend entirely on the current license holders and how much spectrum is made available in each market.
  6. So, essentially, until VoLTE is the standard Sprint's only response is a proverbial tip o' the cap to T-Mobile? i.e. there is no real chance for a like-for-like counter, correct?
  7. I'm loathe to admit it, but that is awesome. Absolute game changer.
  8. I think they're saying that USCC might be angling toward eventually being bought out, but they would have no leverage in any related negotiation if they allow potential suitors full roaming access on a pseudo-native basis.
  9. I think you're right about that. And I agree with your earlier point regarding a WiMAX shutdown. Honestly shouldn't be difficult, and despite this area not being a high priority, it seems like bringing on additional carriers alongside shutting down WiMAX is a nice stopgap at the very least to guarantee quality service in the near to middle term even without significant B41 spectrum holdings.
  10. If I'm not mistaken, aside from the speed benefits of CA, it should also help with edge-of-cell performance (please correct me if I'm wrong), so it might even help you out with those pockets of 3G. [emoji4]
  11. I haven't quite gotten the hang of differentiating Sprint equipment from any other carrier's equipment, but I'll take a look and see what I can find out next time I'm in the area. [emoji1]
  12. I clean flashed the factory image today and it is doing well thus far. Still very snappy. Haven't noticed any real difference in connectivity or battery life (not surprising considering it was a minor update) but it's been really smooth. Always feels good to start fresh ????
  13. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-16-30-rural-lte-roaming-partners-have-now-launched-lte-service/2015-05-20 Not much in the way of new information, but still relevant.
  14. I was just out in Minier the other day and I was roaming on 1x on some USCC tower. Despite being only on 1x, I could still load webpages and the like (which has not been typical of my experience on 1x in the past); this leads me to believe there must be a USCC tower somewhere relatively close to Minier. Any idea where it's at? And if so, what do we think are the chances it gets a full Sprint build in the future? It would be great to see some solid rural LTE coverage come out of the USCC deal, since that seems like the major reason behind it to begin with?
  15. I was just at the Kentucky Derby this weekend and wanted to comment on my experience in Churchill Downs. On both the Friday of the Oaks and the Saturday of the Derby, I had good strong LTE (B25) signal at Churchill Downs, but could not get any internet access at all; the connection consistently timed out. Early in the morning on Saturday, I was able to pull meager speeds of about 1mbps down, but the connection started to time out as more people arrived, which led me to believe that whatever tower(s) is/are responsible for covering that area was/were just overburdened by the sheer number of people in the area. I didn't see any B41, so that certainly didn't help congestion either. I figure with upgraded backhaul for the tower or towers in question and possibly having 1-2 carriers of B41 coverage there next year, the experience might be noticeably different. For the sake of comparison, I had friends on AT&T and Verizon who both had consistent service with no interruptions, so it is obviously possible. No info on T-Mobile in the area.
  16. No I don't work there, but I was there for a two day conference though...that's how I noticed the change over the course of two days [emoji1]
  17. It's been very quick in the deployment too. I was in the Marriott in Normal yesterday and didn't have Band 41, but today I do. And I just noticed it at home yesterday for the first time as well (definitely a different tower). Truly exciting stuff to start seeing what Sprint has to offer once full deployment is reached. Start investing in Sprint stock now, fellas, because it's about to be on the rise [emoji4] [emoji6] [emoji1]
  18. Band 41 has been popping up all over Bloomington Normal over the last week or so. At least 3 or 4 towers already. Really good speeds too: ~30-45 down, ~6-12 up.
