  1. I would greatly enjoy that freedom, but as far as general practice, how much would Sprint benefit? Sure a relatively small portion of their client base would be knowledgeable enough (or at least have access to a knowledge base like this great forum) to know what they might be getting into and which phones would be compatible and to what extents. But how many complaints might they then have to deal with from individuals who activated phones not fully compatible without doing the proper fact checking beforehand? Seems like they might be in danger of getting some bad customer service rep from that type of scenario... For myself though...I'd be ecstatic to see that come down the pipe.
  2. I'm intrigued to hear what happens with this. Hopefully we can get it fully funded.
  3. So this phone is effectively a Sprint Moto X? Will Sprint whitelist the IMEI and activate it?
  4. After reading the install info, I'm a bit lost. Do I need to upgrade firmware? I was on 4.4.2 before I even rooted, so I'm assuming my firmware and radios, etc are all fine. Can I just go straight for the flash? First time I've really seen this intensive of a process for flashing a new ROM, but then again I am new to this. Thanks for any help.
  5. Anyone on here who is rooted...what's currently your favorite ROM? I'm looking for some suggestions of new ones to try out, so I figured there might be some ideas on here. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  6. So we really ha e zero idea of a timeline on any site waiting for CL? Could be tomorrow, could be a year from now?
  7. Haha maybe once I'm no longer a broke college student, I'll be able to find out
  8. Does CenturyLink have some substantive issues with deployment or are they just dragging their feet for the sake of doing so?
  9. I heard from someone that some the sites in central Illinois that have seen essentially no movement (e.g. Bloomington, Springfield, C-U) are designated as "problem areas" by Sprint. Regardless of the accuracy of this claim, is there any reason that upgrades in these areas are taking so long? Obviously, I get that it is all about the backhaul and not Sprint's fault exactly, I just still fail to see why these areas are posing such a problem. And I get that places off highways and near existing fiber are easier to upgrade, but why is the backhaul upgrade so hard for Bloomington, but other metro areas have seen plenty of upgrades in the time it has taken for Bloomington to see exactly zero LTE active sites? Makes zero sense to me.
  10. Is there theoretically anything you could do to improve the radio function with root and s-off? I.e. are we talking a software issue or is this hardware dependent?
  11. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain Google has said they are moving to HTML5 instead of Flash so that isn't unexpected.
  12. We feel your pain here in Bloomington/Normal. LTE is all around here, just taunting us with its glory.
  13. You wouldn't happen to have a link where I can download it, would you?
  14. There's no way to keep track of which sites still need trenching is there? I.e there's no centralized list or anything of that nature?
  15. I'm just curious how much inclement weather might affect getting in new backhaul? I'm assuming it's more difficult to trench in fiber when it's exceptionally cold, but does that put everything at essentially a standstill until spring in colder climes? (specifically Bloomington/Normal, but seems a valid general question for the areas discussed in this thread) Put another way, are we likely to see much movement in the next month or so? Or will it more likely be a waiting game followed by a flurry of activity once we start getting a good thaw?
  16. This is more of a general question (sorry if there's a more appropriate page on which to post this.) I know a lot of sites are waiting on backhaul for LTE to become active. My question is will there be a noticeable improvement in data speed over 3G once new fiber is in place or will it only affect LTE?
  17. Haha I was afraid that's what you were going to say. Thanks for the info, regardless.
