  1. I know the Note 3 doesn't support LTE on 800 or 2600. Yet I found this on a Note 3 inside a Best Buy. Kinda odd. Software issue on the touchwiz rom?

Yeah we discussed it back on release day. Most likely those are just leftovers from when Samsung was testing triband functionality on prototypes. If you grab your msl code and enable them, they won't stay on. The hardware isn't likely there.

The best evidence for the lack of hardware support is the perfectly functioning SVLTE. All other triband devices lack SVLTE.

  2. Looks like this device may eventually support direct connect.

Gives option for SDC Registation and LTE Specific Paramaters

Downloaded the SDC app but the current version is unsupported.

The Galaxy Note 3 has this option as well.

  3. I've tried, but I cannot replicate the call quality problems. I've put in 2,000 minutes on my note 3 so far, but all calls have been crystal clear. All my calls originate from the KC area and have landed to all other carriers in various places in the U.S.

  4. My friend sent in his rooted and heavily modded gs4 that was having screen problems, and Samsung didn't say a thing. I don't know if the are going to be jerks about it and deny everyone, or just have it in case they think the damage was done from custom firmware.

  5. Interesting... had never heard of that plan. But it looks like you can't get this plan if you are already a Sprint customer...  You also can't combine with a corporate discount.

Right, sorry I read your post wrong and didn't realize you already had an account. I would just try calling up Sprint tomorrow and see if they will put you on the everything data rate plan.

  6. If this knox thing isn't squared away in the next week, mine goes back. I don't know how that's gonna work considering I gave sprint my GS3 for one up.

What problems are you having with knox? Or are you referring to losing your warranty? I have my Note 3 rooted and everything is working swell for me.

  7. http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/9/4821692/t-mobile-announces-unlimited-global-data-roaming-at-no-extra-charge

T-Mobile just announced global unlimited data roaming at no extra cost.

Big moves out of T-Mobile these days

So T-Mobile users now have unlimited data roaming almost anywhere in the world... except in America, where you're stuck with a 50mb roaming limit with no option to pay for more...

...But even worse- you are extremely limited on where you can actually roam, and most of the time you will only have "emergency calls only" :P

  8. I think this is an actual issue. I didn't notice it because I RARELY make phone calls but my phone is suffering from this, as is the other Note 3 on my account.

Neither one of us noticed because we mainly just text and use other messaging apps. We proceeded to call other people on different networks to try to find out where the issue was. It was especially noticeable when we called each other as we're both using note 3s on sprint.

Is this something that could be network related or hardware? Interestingly, when I make calls at home via the airvana there are no popping or crackling sounds.

I'm really hoping it's something that can be fixed with an update as I'd hate to take this phone back.

I just had a 2 hour phone call to another Sprint user in Orlando on a GS4, and I listened very carefully the entire time and I couldn't hear any distortions at all. It sounded like HD voice to me. I wonder if this location dependent, kind of like the Note 2 800mhz issues in Shentel territory.

  9. Poor Sprint. T-Mobile just leap frogged them again in LTE coverage. 200 million covered and 233 metro cities vs Sprints like 173 cities and numbers that Sprint won't even release because its probably not that much coverage compared to the competition. T-Mobile also anncouned 20/20 mhz LTE scheduled for next year and no roaming in 100 countries. Combine that with the fact that the G2 will be released almost 2 months later than the other carriers and no One Up in DC/Florida makes me very sad for Sprint this year :(

Cue Sprint this weekend announcing 200 million pops covered, whether they are or not.  :P

  10. the only thing i notice thats an issue with this phone seems to be that if im in a weak signal area and i drop to 1x it tells me there are no mobile signal... and wont even try to open a webpage just says nope... so unless im actually on evdo or lte it wont try... which has been a little annoying...  but thats more a problem with my location than it is of the phone with the exception most other phones would still download on 1x albeit slowly...

I was roaming on Verizon 1x without any problems out in the middle of nowhere today. 0.12 down, 0.15 up.

  11. Sprint users experiencing terrible call quality on the Note 3? http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/10/09/sprint-galaxy-note-3-owners-complain-of-garbling-morphing-popping-and-just-all-around-terrible-call-quality/ Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4

I've made a few hour long calls and just dialed my voicemail again to test. Crystal clear. I think this might be the case where 1 or 2 people had an actual problem, and then every other Note 3 user in poor Sprint coverage thought it was a great idea to start complaining with everyone else.

Richmc, have you had any issues?

  12. I hope your Samsung rep is better than ours. Ours showed me a "secret" photo of the Gear about a month before it was announced. It was not a picture of the Gear. It was one of the Internet "leaks" that was debunked. I didn't have the heart to tell him his picture had been debunked several days before.
