  1. Ok. Quick question. I upgraded my iPhone from the XS Max to a iPhone 12 Pro on Oct. 31st and switched my Sprint sim from Sprint to TNX towards the end of November to beginning of December. At the current moment by the way things are going between Sprint/T-Mobile and me moving back to Bangor Maine area towards the end of August 2021. How well does TMO work in the greater Bangor Me, Dexter, Corinth & Some of the southern and northern parts of Maine?

  2. Belkin MagSafe Pro Car Vent Mount. It does it’s job that’s for sure. For better hold while driving it does a very very excellent job at holding the iPhone 12 Series with the Apple MagSafe Case. I’ve tested it in warm, cold, icy, rainy, snowy conditions. With bumps and pot holes and a slight slide on black ice and holds the iPhone 12 Series excellent. I’m very pleased with it and totally recommend it. This is a review from another customer. Consumer Review

Nice. Yeah f I’ve been reading correctly that both TMO and Shentel have come to an agreement as well on how much TMO will buy out their cellular part of Sprint as well. Seems to be everything pointing to everything being cleared by the end of 2nd Quarter 2021.

  4. Interesting finding in my neck of the woods in Shentel Area. Picked up the new iPhone 12 Pro yesterday. Speeds are pretty decent for the time being. One thing I did notice is that it says Sprint/T-Mobile 5G when doing speed test. If I use my phone as a hotspot and connect my old iPhone XS Max to it and do a speed test it comes up as T-Mobile as the network.

SO what exactly is going on?? do we know??

Now my daughter in southern utah with an I-phone 11 pro (so NOT subject to kicking to tmo) is having issues.. Trying to get her to dl SCP to check her provider/band info  BUT her dorm is having wifi issues as well lol.

So with all the issues.. anyone have a guess whats going on??  and How long possibly??

I am giving CS a call on Mon.. because this is becoming a bigger issue for us on phone calls, and for my business connecting while I am jobs....

Just FYI. SCP isn’t avail on iPhones. Just android devices. She can open the dialer and type in *3001#12345#* and it will bring up the engineering screen for the iPhone and she can find out what band and stuff she is on for both upload and download.

  7. So if anyone is wondering about the TMO and Shentel Deal. I got some what of an update today. Had an interesting day today not long before I went into work and when I was working. Saw a Technician out for Shentel using a Sprint truck looking at a a telephone line. I’m assuming they may be looking at putting up on the pole at some point. But stopped and talked a few minutes and asked what’s going on with the TMO and Shentel negations and alls he knew is that they didn’t take TMO up on the first offer they did for Shentel. And at work one of the Sprint Store workers came in and since the ones here work for Shentel I asked the same question. He said that Shentel had declined the first offer and that they are trying to negotiate a deal. He seemed like they will come to a good deal soon he hopes.

Sprints website no longer exists. Probably best just to wait for a bit unless the phone is hardly working. Even then I’d search some used listings for one before I’d get in the mess of TMobile/Sprint services. Anything you get from a store (unless you’re in a shentel Sprint market) is going to be TMobile based and if their network sucks in your area you’re stuck.

I get redirected too. But a good work around is just go to www.sprint.com/coverage and it will bring up the coverage map and you can select the login tab from their to access the full site.

  10. Just my Two Cents with the pending in T-Mobile and Shentel stuff going on. I have recently have noticed on the www.sprint.com/coverage map that most of Charlottesville/Albemarle County and surrounding areas on the map do have 5G. Along with TMO having 5G in most of the areas in Charlottesville/Albemarle County and surrounding areas to some capacity as well. My guess is since both have 5g in most places that it should hopefully be a good transition from Sprint to TMO. If all things go good. I did have TMO Prepaid the past month on my Unlocked iPhone XS Max and had a really good experience in all the areas I have gone in Charlottesville/Albemarle County and some of the surrounding areas. I am hoping for the best and the transition goes smoothly. I know the few Sprint Stores that I pass between home and work are still branded as Sprint. My guess is due to Shentel and TMO negotiating on TMO trying to buy Shentels Part of Sprint. I did have very good speeds both up and down on TMO and voice coverage as well. I do hope that Shentels area stays the same and gets better after TMO/Shentel stuff is over.

Is that recommended for us in Shentel territory? Would that smoothe the transition?

No it’s not required. My 24 month contract was almost up so paid off the two months I had left and had it unlocked just to do some testing on a few other carriers with the esim. Atm my esim has T-Mobile Prepaid. And getting about the same download speeds of between 100-130 mbps on both Sprint and T-Mobile. Uploads are usually around 5mbps on Sprint and about 9-12 on the prepaid T-Mobile line.

  12. Just a little FYI since I’m in the Shentel Market.
Ended up paying off the last 3 or 4 payments I had left on my iPhone XS Max yesterday (8/4/20). Started a chat with support so I could get it unlocked. Had to go through a few extra hoops to get it unlocked. My guess the extra steps were because of Sprint & T-Mobile  Employees are getting use the merger stuff. But it’s totally unlocked now.
