So one more iphone to android question... Is there anything on this phone that is similar to visual voicemail?
-
So I picked up a nexus 5 today at a corporate sprint store. So far I'm really liking it. Is there anything I need to do or are the network settings automatically brought to the phone? This is the first android phone I've purchased so I'll be having to navigate through the changes from iphone to android.

The N5 is superior in terms of RF performance. Best there is at the moment. A few of the members on the G2 thread have also used the Nexus so you could probably get a more detailed answer from one of them.
And it's fully spark compatible despite it not getting the ota upgrade?
-
Has anyone used the n5 before the g2? How do the rf performances compare? Is the n5 fully spark compatible? (Despite not getting the spark ota update that the g2 is getting?)
-
How does it compare with the lg g2?
If I didn't experience the wireless nightmare that was the Citrus Bowl I'd be completely agreeing with you about the update lol. The RF performance is amazing though. I pulled a poor, but very usable, LTE signal inside some of the restaurants in the St. Augustine square the other week. The Dave usually comments on how that area is extremely poor for Sprint with no LTE in sight because the closest tower is legacy. This phone is phenomenal.

It could be based on where your account is based at too.I just got it today out in Window Rock, AZ which has one tower and it is not upgraded at all.
I believe we know that this is to keep people. I already know of 6 people in my family that have left sprint to t-mo. I am sure this is the case at other providers as well though.

I got the next month text while at the cerrillos stop of the rail runner.
-
Just got the text. Not sure what to think of it. Hoping it's a push of LTE coming. CJSent from my iPhone 5
Did yours say over the next months or month?
-
has anyone in the ABQNE area gotten the text? I haven't, but I've been going to SF these past couple of days

I'm using an iphone 5S But i didn´t have that problem before, so I think that issue is due to whatever updates they are doing for NV on the Sandia Pueblo? What device are you using? The very bottom of La Bajada for about 1/2 mile and the very bottom of San Felipe Pueblo for about 1/2 mile was all I ever had as a dead zone. I've never lost a signal between Sandia and Bernalillo.
However, the Sprint 3G speeds between Santa Fe and Bernalillo are great. Often over 2Mbps. On Tmo, you will be 100kbps EDGE from 3 miles north of US 550 until the La Cienega exit.
Tmo is completely unusable for about 3 miles around San Felipe Pueblo. But it does not drop at La Bajada, as they have a little witty bitty EDGE tower on the canyon rim just to the NE of the freeway. If you look for it when north bound, you'll see it. Cute little thing.

Tmo is god awful between ABQ and Santa Fe too. Also, indoor coverage can be pretty crappy in ABQ. Where Tmo has zero bars, Sprint usually at least has one or two. But where Tmo is good, it's very good.

Well I've been driving to Santa Fe the last two days and let me tell you... service is pretty darn crappy on Sprint too. There are about three dead zones. One is around la bajada, the other one is by the san felipe casino and the third is in between sandia pueblo and bernalillo. I'm hoping this is just a problem of those towers getting upgraded.

At least in the heights, I haven't physically seen/noticed any activity within the last twoweeks.CJSent from my iPhone 5
Just my reception going to hell

Sure. You want cheap roaming on SoftBank in Japan? Okay, that can be done. And that is about it. SoftBank does not own pieces of mobile networks in numerous countries like Deutsche Telekom does. AJ
I just looked up japan roaming and it doesn't look very cheap either!

Has anyone heard anything about Sprint introducing "something" to compete with T-Mobile's unlimited data abroad offering?
-
So does anyone know for sure if backhaul has been laid? Has anyone seen cl near sprint towers?
-
Were you on wifi? (Look at your pic)I don't know how this happened, but it did. This was at Juan Tabo and Lomas. I have never had the best speeds or ping ever here, and could never hold a call more then 5 minutes. Seems like a pretty high speed for that ping... But I wouldn't know that well.

I pray that they are off tomorrow. No one needs to work on Christmas.
-
I'm back to one or two bars.... The pings btw were around 100 but never below. Around 108. I'm by San Antonio and Louisiana. I'm almost sure my tower is the one by Wyoming and San Antonio. I don't know how to post pics?

So I'm getting 3 and 4 bars at my house when before today I got two and three and I'm getting pings around 100 and download speeds of about 1 Mbps where as before I was getting about 120 k...
-
that's what I thought too. I did a few tests and got around the same results so I figured the same thing too.
They could, however, be starting to do the updates....
I'm encouraged by the positive "sightings" people are reporting.

I was up by the fidelity call center and seen a centurylink truck and trailer at the tower just to the east of university by the pavilion

I have seen about three Centurylink trucks near a sprint 3G tower, they were running cables underground.
Take pics!
-
Yeah and that's online only so you would have gotten your phone around Christmas.
It's not online only. I got $100 off at the store and my friend got the 5c for free b/c of the credit.

So I just talked to a CL guy that was at my house for repairing my internet, asked him if he knew anything about installing Fiber/backhaul and he only said that the delay might be due to the employee's going on stike and that some new contracts for the employee's should be done Friday. He didn't know much though.
I hope that's true. I'm at ord and wow, just wow. Love the lte here and how reliable it is! Looking forward to this at Abq.
