That's because there isn't one. S4GRU accepts any donation, but typically needs $20-25 per sponsor to keep the lights on. But we also know that everyone is in a different financial situation, so you wallet is your guide.
Thanks DK! Always so helpful

Ouch! I wish Sprint speeded it up. TMo is making them look pretty bad... In less than six months they've accomplished more than Sprint has in twice as long

In the sponsors section, there is the map of all the ABQ towers.
how much of a contribution must one make to become a sponsor? I don't see an amount listed anywhere.

Just ran a speed test of my own. Again, this is from inside my building which is adjacent to one of the currently empty US Forestry offices, got a 297 ping and a craptacular .44 Mbps down, .35 Mbps up. Usual rotten performance.
Yeah it only was that good once. I'm back to getting similar results.
-
So for all of you who work right near me... I just got a ping of 168 and download speeds of 1.74 mbps at work. This is by far the fastest speeds I've gotten here at work on 3g.

Thanks DK. Yeah, I spent some time reading through the thread. I'm really looking forward to having this completed and launched!

haha. Good one.
In the sponsors section, there is the map of all the ABQ towers. Since I have an iphone, I can't use awesome apps like signalpro or others. However, based on the map in the sponsors area, i have made the assumption that is most likely the tower that you/I would connect to in the Journal Center.
Gotcha. Well it sounds like you work around the corner from me, so we're probably using the same tower...
If I were to guess, I'd say they are working on my tower today.
-
What tower are you connecting too? I working at Jeffereson and Masthead as well. I have never seen speeds like that. i am on personal time this week. Maybe later I will go check out the tower across I-25 to the east. I assume that is the tower covering that area. Sounds like upgrade problems.
How can you tell what tower you connect to? I'm actually getting some speed now lol about 250-361 pings and .44 mbps so it's back to registering "some" speed.

Maybe we're in the same building. I just ran a speed test, 24.8KBps. The data network here is worthless.
If 4G isn't turned on in December, I'll probably be looking for a new provider.
I just ran a speed test and got a big fat zero as my speed and a -1ms as my ping. Huh...
Once again... good thing I have wifi at work and at home... and that I saw evidence yesterday of a future network that moves lol
But voice-wise my service at work is fine.

I'm just a block from you, off Sun Avenue and San Francisco and barely obtain a Sprint signal in my office, in fact I roam for much of the day when I'm in my building. Pretty pathetic.
I get great voice and text service at my job... .it's just if I'm not on wifi the network is sloooooow

Hmmm...I work off Jefferson, but south of Paseo, I assume @TheCUJuan was at the Safelight or whatever auto glass joint that is on Jefferson just north of Arby's. Isn't there a tower just across the street from there, along the arroyo? I see Sensorly's map is now showing 4G in T or C and Elephant Butte. Who's running that backhaul, is it not Centurylink? Probably not as it's actually taken place.
I also work off Jefferson south of Paseo... by Masthead actually and yes, I was at Safelite. But my network speed where I work (maybe a mile or two south of Safelite) is about half of what I got there yesterday morning! About 600-700 mbps

Boy this thread has gone quiet... So I've been watching this thread for a while as I decided whether or not to switch from AT&T to Sprint. LTE was not a huge factor as AT&T's LTE service in ABQ is almost non existent and I'm usually oh wifi. That said, Sprint's 3G just crawls... I haven't seen anything that slow since I had the original iPhone 6 years ago.
Anyway, I was getting my chipped windshield repaired yesterday on Jefferson and Paseo and was very pleasantly surprised to see speeds around 1.5 mbps. I was able to browse the internet, send emails use apps with no problem at all. Really looking forward to having at least those speeds everywhere in ABQ!
One more thing I would mention is that since Friday when I finally made the plunge, I have been pleasantly surprised to get signal where ATT did not - at the Hyatt downtown, Rio Chama in Santa Fe... for all the talk of poor sprint signal, I've been getting much better voice coverage with Sprint so far!
Everything data plan ending?
in General Topics
Posted
I thought that I had seen in a thread that the Everything data plan was no longer going to be available starting fairly soon. Does anyone know when people will no longer be able to choose this plan?
I ask this b/c my friend and I just signed up for Sprint, with separate accounts. He gets a 23% off discount but when I got my first bill realized that discounts on the Everything my way plan only apply to the data portion of the bill. So after browsing through this website, it seems like the Everything data plan is much cheaper for his two lines, especially considering the discount.
So... does anyone know if he can still sign up for this account, and if so, until when?
