1. Not true.  In fact you can go to their buyback site right now and see they are already matching the T-Mobile prices.  You can even do the transaction there and lock in the pricing if you want.

That's awesome. Can you lock in on a price and then just take your phone in on Friday and give it to the Sprint reps? or should I just wait until Friday and do it all at the store. I'm hoping not to have to mail it in.

2. Question is how many did Sprint get? I got my order conformation with in two hours of going on sale for the 6 plus. Says it will be shipped within three weeks. Is that the standard response? I guess I will know this week. If I get my tracking number this week I guess I was a lucky one.

...and they'll get some! The Corporate store near me is opening up at 5 am on Friday. I"ll get there early, get in line and I'm sure I'll get one :) I want a 64 gig one, doesn't matter if it's the 6 or the 6+

3. The Binghamton market is 100% upgraded! Our little problem site downtown has finally received NV upgrades. Now it's only a matter of time before it, like the other sites here, receives LTE and 1x800 acceptance. Now I know where those ALU guys have been hanging out the past few weeks, maybe they'll get on optimizing the LTE 800 soon. :-)

Coverage down Riverside drive might be a bit better now given the recent update.

If anyone goes by that area, please let me know.
4. Sprint is showing "leniency" or at least flexibility by allowing up to $50/mo in paid data roaming. That should cover the subs who exceed their roaming data quotas once a year on summer vacations. And if those subs complain about the roaming charges while they are in effect saving hundreds of dollars per year on Sprint, they are losing sight of the greater picture.

$50/month???
5. Some of you guys are pie in the sky fools. You want to have your cake and eat it, too. Lower plan prices, maintain "unlimited" data, increase bandwidth deployment, expand native coverage, retain problematic subs. Give me a break. Think about what you are saying. You cannot have everything including the kitchen sink without financially running Sprint into the ground. Lower prices will mean some sacrifices, including some subs who are poor fits for Sprint.

You see. That's the thing you don't get. For the people that abuse I'm all about sprint doing what they have to do. But for people who occasionally go over some leniency just makes sense.
6. Don't agree with that at all. For instance when we went to a non Sprint area this summer, the Sprint line with us didn't think twice about using her phone I have roaming. She pays for the line and expects it to work in the US. You have to think with a regular customer mindset. If she would have been charged for the extra usage for that week I can guarantee you that person will not be a customer any longer. Customer lost for years along with that customer venting to 10 other of her friends, all over a place that person won't go for years.

+1 couldn't agree with You more!! One thing is people who abuse. Another is someone who occasionally travels to a non sprint area.

7. But you can also get a prepaid phone on another carrier for when you visit, or even a mobile broadband device for the trip. They sell prepaid MBB devices on most carriers now.

But that's the thing... I rarely roam. I went there for one week. I'm not an abuser so I just wish they cracked down on abusers, not people who occasionally travel somewhere sprint chooses not to serve anymore.

8. Yes, you do have multiple choices. You can opt not to go to Alaska if wireless service is that important to you. Alternatively, you can go but choose not to use roaming beyond your quota. Or you can now pay for your roaming data overage up to 300 MB total. Finally, you can elect to use a different provider that has native service in Alaska.

No need to be snappy. Most people I know use their phone for business and travel around the country. Anchorage is the biggest city in one of our states. We're not talking about another country.

9. All phones can upgrade with Easypay anytime....   You have to wait 20 months to get a true subsidized upgrade...  In my case of 5 lines, 1 of those lines was way past the 20 month period thus by the rules the whole account could change to the new rate plan at $15..  If all your phones got a subsidized upgrade during the last 20 months, then the only way to kick your account into the new rate plan is to add a line...  BTW,,,, that line can be added using an old phone you have or you can get a cheap older phone...     That's why I had my son-in-law run out yesterday and update his Iphone to a 5S under the wire....

• One phone on your account was purchased on Sprint Easy Pay• One line is no longer under a one or two-year term agreement• One line is upgrade-eligible on your account and  upgrading to a new device on your account.... this got me my change• By adding a new line of service to these plans on your account• Note: The line meeting one of the above conditions must switch to Family Share Pack or $60 Unlimited plan for other lines on the account to be eligible to switch.

The thing I don't get is they told me I can just go and get a new phone and that would make me eligible. That makes no sense. I don't want a new phone at all at this time. When I upgrade I will go and get a phone and do the byop. Pay cash and activate it in sprint.
10. That is only true for the family plan if you have no lines eligible for an upgrade...  don't know the status of your account... Once you buy a phone, you can then move all your lines if none of your lines are eligible...  In my case, I left one and I was good to go...  Pays to read the fine print!!

How do I know? It says I'm eligible to upgrade through easy pay on my account online....

11. Ok, I just called Sprint to check eligibility and they are basically telling me I'd have to get a new phone and pay on installments to get the new plans WTF?!

When Easy Pay came out I got an email encouraging me to upgrade. I did that, but I paid for the phone up front in cash instead of in installments. I thought at that time I switched from getting discounts to getting on easy pay and that's why I was able to get on Framily to begin with. But no, they are saying i'm not eligible for the new plan b/c of that.

While the new plan is not *that* much cheaper than what I have now, this just annoys me. On top of that the cs agents I spoke to sounded like they were brand new.

Is the information they provided me correct?

12. You need to wait until the individual plans are announced if you just have 1 line. If you did 2 lines on these family plans then it would depend on the data. But an example would be

$100 (20gb) - $20(nvp discount) +$15+$15(unl talk/text)= $110 + phones

Also if you want to keep/do 1 year upgrades it will be $5 for any lines that you want that on.

I know, I'm hoping the new individual plan will be better than the one I have now, but I'm intrigued by the new plans should I end up with more lines. Would I have to pay the 15 dollars if those lines are new to sprint and ported from att?

What happens if you don't do the 5/month? When can you upgrade?

13. Whoa, I never looked at it that closely before. That's terrible!

But, I don't think these maps have been updated for Binghamton ever since NV happened, they don't even show LTE yet and the whole area is launched. Once the maps update, I'm assuming that won't say roaming anymore since we have NV gear everywhere and 1x800, so maybe they'd have luck getting an Airave then.

I may try getting them an airave here in ABQ when they come visit in a couple of weeks. May have better luck by then and with the ABQ CS folks.

14.

Sprint was wrong saying there is no service though, I don't think there are any "dead" zones at all, especially not on their coverage map. It's just that indoor service is probably very bad around that area if I had to guess, with really bad 3G speeds due to this one site.

Also, a few months ago, 1x800 wasn't turned on in this area, and it is now. Your parents might actually have usable 1x800 inside their home now - I believe it just got optimized. Then, once downtown is upgraded, 3G and LTE will be usable from their area.

The coverage map actually does show that little sliver as roaming. Check it out, it's kinda  unreal. It's one block north of Riverside Dr by Matthews and Leroy. Still showing as roaming only service according to the sprint coverage map.
