In case anybody missed it:
More of the same:
I have heard reports of Sprint SIMs that stopped working after reboot this morning.

Looks like Verizon is doing another round of Marco expansions around Louisville. Found another new site this morning which makes 5 new sites in the past few months. The one I found this morning is badly needed in that area for coverage, I usually can only get b13 in that area currently. They must really be feeling the pressure from T-Mobile around here.
Their plan is to go back through and do the suburban / fringe areas with n77. Especially once more of their n77 licences open up later in the year iirc.

I dunno what Tmobile is doing but I've seen 3 different types of 5g today...
Not all phones can display 5g correctly, especially NSA. Levels of CA is also another issue. Note Cellmapper is better at this, but then stale data is an issue. Best way with Samsung is *#0011#. 5g SA is much more straight forward, but NSA will likely be with us for a while.

Personally preferred the Samsung equipment over Ericson in terms of performance in the Sprint days.

My A52 is actually sitting on the April 1, 2022 update version and I did a lot of my tinkering on the March version. So that doesn't really explain the issues.

For me the phone is also a big factor. My a32 5gs work perfectly, but extremely difficult/impossible to find more matching requirements. My s21 Ultras work great, but NSA reporting is non existent for unrooted phones (SCP and cellmapper). The T-Mobile network also wants a phone to be able to do SA CA to let you select a SA band for more than a second. The actual reporting on what bands a phone supports is also absimal, especially when they first come out, which is often when they have the most features we want for our hobby.

Well, chamb e-mailed me to suggest looking for a specific option in the *#2263# menu, and while it didn't work (actually, I didn't understand what he was saying at first), it did give me an idea. I used *#73#, made my way to the band selection menu, then backed out and got to NAS Configuration, and then backed out again and that landed me on the UE Setting screen, which allowed me to do the steps in the guide. Bizarre, but I'm glad.
Bad news is that while it allowed me access to add additional bands, it only added them in NSA, not in SA (still only n71-SA is available). I tried redoing several different steps in the guide to get SA enabled for other bands without success. I also tried changing the CSC back to XAA and that didn't help either. Also, it seems that n71 SA only actually works with the TMB CSC set; in XAA, I get a "no connection" instead. So I've switched it back to TMB.
Next I tried "Method 2" in the guide. I believe this is what chamb meant for me to do. This worked! I now had access to SA for all the NR bands the phone supports. Unfortunately, actually locking any SA band now results in no service. I'm still fidgeting with it in the hope that I can figure out what I need to do to make SA work properly.

So the firmware deadline dates are April 1, 2022 or a bit later and then Dec 31, 2022 for the various published Samsung tricks. Wish Samsung would leave the factory unlocked able to band lock. One Plus is also getting hinky since their purchase by Oppo. Like Moto. NSG works best with Qualcomm modems iirc

I ordered an A23 online and it came with the AT&T sim (not the rainbow sim as expected) So I have RMAed it.

They've really got the new n71 unbalanced for my area. DL topping around 400mbps, and uploads around 10mbps. I'm not sure what the ideal U/L should be, but I would rather it be balanced more.. but I guess in time it'll be balanced out.
400mbps for n71 strikes me as high. Are you sure it is not CA with another band?

Concerns on costs of T-Mobile and AT&T Roaming. Note that he is planning on being a competitor.

Sent diag for esim echo when psim turned off. *#0011# shows psim as not ready. Of course just removing Sim fixes it (hassle), but leave decision to you. Cellmapper shows both then removes second after a few seconds..
Sent diag for AT&T n77 on esim on s21 ultra. https://imgur.com/a/ItA2r8Y
Can easily replicate in early morning hours if needed.
Verizon n77 works fine on s21 ultra.

I'm curious to know if the A23 can be band-locked. I'm considering buying it through them with the $100/year service, if at all possible, in order to record Dish. I mean, once it's possible to get a Rainbow SIM.
- Trip
I mapped out the various phone choices to Dish's NR bands. Used trade press for many of the phones, which can be unreliable. Just starting with N71, you are down to three phones: Moto G Stylus 5G 2022, Moto Edge+ (2022), Celero 5G+. Add in the less frequent n66 and you are down to: Moto G Stylus 5G 2022, Moto Edge+ (2022). The Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 then walks away with the rest of the bands.
A negative is even if you pay cash, the phone is carrier locked for a year.
-
A bit if confusion, but rhe rainbow Sim is expected to be on sale in Columbus OH tomorrow. If you buy the phone outright, unlocking still takes a year.

Kinda, the exact wording is Mikes but the 312-250 PLMN which triggers it typically indicates a Sprint site that T-Mobile intends to keep.
I have seen various T-Mobile people use it. Including Neville iirc.
Edit: it should be noted that keep site status is not a guarantee, nor is it exclusive. There have been keep sites shutdown and non keep sites converted. Keep site status rather should just be considered a high probability of conversion.

Are Dish's issues really just a marketing issue? If this guy succeeds, he could be the next John Legere.

The end of this article basically supports Dish's strategy: https://www.telecompetitor.com/financial-analysts-cable-is-a-bigger-threat-to-wireless-than-wireless-is-to-cable/
Of course execution and timing may even be more important.

Predicts a dramatic increase in Dish's Boost Mobile churn: https://www.lightreading.com/security/dish-hack-expected-to-cut-into-q1-subscriber-tally/d/d-id/783926? Would not surprise me if this end up being one of the most expensive hacks ever. This article makes mention of up to $1.5 Billion.

I have had several problems with the MobileX app processing payments (several errors). They just credited me for the first month, which I will verify tomorrow.
Lately support has been more communicative about various errors I have run into.

Despite Dish's claims, I am not certain they are back to normal:
