  1. Ntelos was on one of Son's slides in his keynote presentation, which is posted on the Sprint news page. sent by tapatalk from my LS-980 (G2) edit: Here is the video link:
  2. I also got one. For some its generic, but for us in Columbus it is very likely quite accurate. There are lots of tower sites with new better equipment that might be turned on any day, a process which will cause some disruption. sent by tapatalk from my LS-980 (G2)
  3. I have noticed on the Sprint shopping pages that they do not consider this phone to be "professional grade". I am curious as to whether this phone fully supports vpn and what "professional grade" features it might be missing. Note that the Samsung S4 was considered "professional grade". http://shop.sprint.com/global/pdf/business/eflyer_professional_grade_devices.pdf?INTCID=PRD:Tier4:ProGrade:042512
  4. And any other carriers in North America. The rest of the world has d821. Google will likely want both models to have the same or almost identical software.
  5. Officially we are not a launched market. Regular band 25 LTE 1900 is openly available in most of our Market with the middle band of Columbus being the biggest exception. As a sponsor, you can see that confidential map here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4742-columbus-market-mapspreadsheet/ The new LTE bands are discussed in the premier section where we also have detailed site-by-site maps. Compared to band 25 LTE 1900, band 41 is smaller in area but has speeds up to 60Mbps here in Columbus at 45 or more sites (G2 currently required, otherwise triband phone), Band 25 LTE is in Ohio, and is generally slightly slower, but penetrates buildings, goes over hills far easier, and has up to 60% longer range (use any triband phone or iPhone 5s or 5c). You can randomly hunt for them using the details in my signature, or you can step up to Premier and have the details of our shared labors. After the many crews that are working in Columbus now are completed with their work, we will be officially launched, and at that time Columbus should officially be a Spark city!!
  6. New NV bids only: NID BID LAT LON HEX 204 59234 39.500000 -83.329097 e762 This was from a considerable distance. All others we already have.
  7. Tonight's batch, added to spreadsheet: http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/25/by6e4aqe.jpg Go 204!! sent by tapatalk from my LS-980 (G2)
  8. http://www.phonedog.com/2014/03/19/boost-mobile-virgin-mobile-to-slow-throttled-data-speeds-further-in-may/ http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprints-boost-virgin-throttle-heavy-data-users-slower-speeds-starting-may/2014-03-20 http://www.wirelessweek.com/news/2014/03/confirmed-virgin-boost-intro-new-slower-speed-throttling-policies http://www.phonenews.com/virgin-and-boost-mobile-to-enact-stricter-throttling-on-may-6th-26679/ It was 256kb. 128kb is ISDN speeds, 1 step above dial-up. Still better than some legacy 3g, but a bit cheap. These users are already lower priority on the Sprint network. Users will get a message and be allowed to restart their plans with a new payment. Would have thought it better to have reduced the cap to 2Gb and left the throttle speed at 256kb from a marketing perspective.
  9. better explained at myce.com. The fact that google does not intend to fix this bug tells me they are close.
  10. For Sprint to go national on LTE at this point would be a mistake. However they could go into each NV completed market, especially spark markets. But that would also leak to uncompleted markets. Sprint will be in a much stronger position once b26 LTE is more prevalent, as users complaints will dramatically decrease because of better coverage.

  12. In West Virginia the PCI sectors remain constant, ie the same PCI for both bands for 00 & 0f, etc.
  13. Hits the mainstream press: http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20140317-906067.html Note that Provo UT and Trenton, NJ are also a spark cities and have or will soon get HD voice.
  14. Press Release issued: http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/4glte-launchedmarkets.htm
  15. Hopefully Sprint also keeps the "microSD slot up to 128GB". Would really like a data centric mode as well, plus GCI (if not already offered).
  16. Mike, just wanted to make certain that you noticed these threads which confirms band 26 GCI sectors of 0F, 10, 11 in the Sprint West Virginia market. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4825-columbus-market-mapspreadsheet-premier-edition/page-14, http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5107-lte-800-band-26-sites-accepted-discussion/page-45&do=findComment&comment=294062. Tried to get band 26 GCI confirmation from Pittsburgh, but no luck so far. I will likely be there in a month or so, and will try personally if no results from other members.
  17. If this merger were to happen, I could see Sprint being far more aggressive with advanced LTE. Merging would make expansion into new territories far easier to cost justify. As far as competing with ISPs (per recent presentation to the Chamber of Commerce), the fact that many of these same firms supply backhaul to Sprint sites might present an issue. Additional factors in merging the physical networks would be the shape of the actual deal. If approved, FCC and Justice department could make it a smaller deal from a market or frequency perspective. The pressure on Sprint to perform (increase market share, more profits) would increase. Would expect that Sprint be required to promise support for GSM users for several years.
  18. Those in emerging markets should check their coverage maps. Zanesville in the Columbus market is now shown to officially have LTE. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1904-network-visionlte-columbus-market/page-210&do=findComment&comment=294429 Add your areas below if they just appeared on the data map with LTE. Soon Sprint will list these areas as launched in a press release.
  19. I did some cleanup a couple of weeks ago, coverage is quite good north of I-70. Some weak spots south of I-70, which would be fixed if the last site goes 4g. Just to the south, Roseville and Crooksville may get left in the dust for a while
  20. Zanesville is now shown as being launched on Sprint LTE data coverage maps. This starts after Linville in the west, 1/2 of New Concord in the east, and Dresden in the north, South Zanesville in the south. http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?INTNAV=SJS:HE:Cov The also now include half of Bellefontaine and further west. This surprises me as Bellefontaine has only had LTE for a week or two. I would have expected London instead.
  21. Nelsonville should be the one just across the river from downtown sent by tapatalk from my LS-980 (G2)
