  1. That's also sort of because there are literally hundreds of towers in such a small area that it is hard to just do cover a large area with LTE in a short time.

One thing I can tell you is, that there are only a few towers in the bronx area, and it does a pretty good job of covering a wide area,(most likely due to less obstruction in the bronx) so I dont see it being a huuuge complication in the outer boroughs to get by with less towers that cover longer distances. If you notice in Midtown (massive high rises other objects and many antennas) the coverage is very weak vs the coverage of the bronx..
  2. For those who have yet to experience the LTE goodness, and cant find a reason to come to the bronx (I know its not exactly the most reputable borough) can just make a trip to either the bronx zoo or the bronx botanical garden, and enjoy what the BX has to offer plus some LTE fun! LOL.

  3. You can be connected to a different voice, 3G and LTE site all at the same time. There are no apps out there at all that will show you LTE site connection locations, unfortunately. The best you can tell is triangulating LTE signal strength. http://s4gru.com/ind...ignal-strength/

Good to know, its bizarre how much lack of data we get back about data sites from our devices, is that also one of the reasons that the signal strength is unrelated to "4G signal" ?..kinda annoying.

    thanks again Robert

  4. NetMonitor never shows LTE or EVDO site locations, only 1x voice site locations. And its accuracy even with 1x varies by market and how the vendor equipment is configured in that market.

Well that explains why it keeps the 4G connection even when switching between different locations (assuming those sites dont also have LTE) also does that mean that when your connected to one location for voice doesn't necessarily mean your connected to the same site on the data side of things? any recommendations for apps?
  5. That's great news. I tested LTE not too far from my house at 170th and Jerome. I had a decent LTE signal, which means its probably coming from closer to your area. Good news either way.

You can install Netmonitor and find out exactly what site your connecting too, seems like its coming from harisson ave, right off tremont ave
  6. It's not fair Sprint. We need LTE in Brooklyn. I need LTE in Brooklyn! :(

I feel you bro...but their have been a lot of reports of increased speeds coming out of BK..So Im Pretty sure its right around the corner. One thing is certain, that it definitely has transformed the way I use my phone around my place.

  7. Nice, If anyone gets the chance to do so, please map on Sensorly.

I already Sensorly this section on the map..Ive been meaning to go by 178st uptown Manhattan, also showing some spots on Sensorly with LTE, but the weather has made it extremely difficult to drive (mostly due to the gas shortage) Also got some 4G signal very very close to my home on 175st and the grand concourse. I could not point out where exactly it came from because it was very momentary and netmonitor was not running. But regardless, Im hopeful i will have more luck in the coming days since its been poping in and out of areas in the Bronx untouched by Sensorly
  8. No flaming necessary, we are all on the same boat here...and the general consensus here and in most other places is that customer service timelines are usually unformed ones..and the fact that you are consistently getting eHRPD is no indication of better signal or any particular "work" in your general area. One thing that most of us here also agree on is that most areas have been improving as of late, is there still work to be done? ABSOLUTELY! and as I mentioned before, having access to the completed NV maps on the sponsorship page really starts clearing things up in terms of overall progress reports.. you also mention "network tester" without mentioning any particular hardware or software, a bit more detail, maybe Robert might be better suited to answer this..

  9. I was told by a Sprint CS agent that October 29th would be the last day that I have crappy service in my area the BX. Service has been sporadfic for quite some time

Where in the BX are you located? My service has steadily improved in the last 3 months..all over NYC, and dont believe anything Customer Service mentions to you, your much better off donating for sponsorship on this site and get real info on whats going on behind the scenes.

  10. Another quick note, ATT has been at the 4G deployment for a looong time, and as far as I can see on Sensorly, there coverage around the country isnt as strong as one would think, Sprint seems to be catching up fairly quickly, so for all those that are having a hard time waiting, really should think twice before leaving to an inferior network(within a year or less) with a higher price.
