  1. Just found out about the LTE 3G signal thing that's going on with Android phones now. Explains why it says LTE but slow as molasses seriously considering reconnecting my EVO.

I've gotten used to driving a Ferrari but now I'm driving an imposter that doesn't go over 40! I feel cheated!

Load up sensorly.com, and find out where the best signal levels are, LTE deployment is still well underway even in the bronx. I know you mentioned 10-15mb second before on your older phone (im assuming WIMAX) thats all well and great, but most users on LTE will avg that or even more, and FAR superior latency response (80-120 pings vs 30-60pings) with a decent signal.
  2. It may look like there is wide coverage but only dark purple areas are usable 4g area. I think less than 10 towers are active in queens.

You should consider becoming a sponsor member so you can have a much better idea of how many and where the accepted sites are located . Also, not having "dark" purple doesn't necessarily mean bad signal rather the device interpreted that way..
  3. Per our latest completion update, Sprint has only three completed LTE sites below Central Park, and none of those are below 34th Street. So, they are all in Midtown.

Correct me if im wrong, but there seems to be LTE coming from Union Sq area...In and around 14st.
  4. Here is the easy solution to your agita: do not run so many speed tests.

What are you trying to prove? You do realize that you are just wasting capacity. By running speed tests, you are just reducing capacity for others and yourself.

I am addicted to speedtest...should i stop, and actually use data more productively!? LOL!
  5. I pick up LTE inside but it's useless. My data end up switching back to 3g. When outside my bldg I don't pick up LTE. Which is weird. I can't wait til launch day. I must say my 3g speed has improved. 2mbs down and 1mbs up.

exactly what happened to me until yesterday, I had great speed a couple weeks ago, then all of a sudden gone, no more 4G in my apt or my neighborhood. Until yesterday, its back in full force I get about -80dbm indoors and -70dbm around my place. Speeds are excellent indoors 10-20mb down and 3-8up. I am around grand concourse and 177st.

  6. You must constantly be in areas of LTE. Lucky you lol.

The trick for me was sensorly....knowing exactly where the LTE was available made things alot easier..for example 46th street and 6th ave and around where i live i knew i could get excellent LTE signal ..so i would sync all my video podcast and google music for offline use...and alot of tech support with LOGMEIN and TEAMVIEWER..

  7. I can definitely say that i am glad for unlimited data, I work in IT and am constantly on the go, last month I used 18gigs of LTE data, and 1.1gigs of 3G data..and thats with an unfinished network, but LTE was awesome where I am in the bronx, before they started testing again, now im on again off again..for last 2weeks.

  8. I sense some hate from the westerners lol! im sure the dense complexity of NYC is not making it easy for sprint, or any other carrier for that matter! Its not easy even for a cable company to throw wires around commercial buildings let alone other equipment that doesn't necessarily benefit the renters/owners in the location.

  9. 3G Speeds in my house & there pretty consistant, the bottom ones are my wifi speeds lml pretty fast , I have Verizon Fios TV, WIFI, & Phone

  10. Ive had LTE for a while at home in the bronx and it has been decent (5-10mb down 2-4mb up 35-60ping) but something happened a couple days ago..I woke up noticed my podcast downloaded alot faster than usual on LTE, did a speed test, i got 25mb down and 10mb up 25-45ping consistently for about an hour and more importantly my LTE signal strength went from -98 to -105dBm to -84 to -95dBm After that awesome upgrade i can no longer connect to LTE at home consistently, I toggle airplane mode I change roaming settings and when im lucky i will connect to LTE for a few minutes and its gone..Why would this be the case? testing? but why can i randomly be able to connect to it? and if its just too far -84 signal seems pretty strong too not be able to hold onto. Anybody wanna chime in and have ideas why this would be the case

  11. My lowest Tmo HSPA+ pings are 150-200ms. They are most often 200-500ms. Sometimes they are 900-1200ms. I once had a 16Mbps DL on Tmo with a 1000ms ping. That just blows your mind.

For some reason that first step to receive packets on HSPA+ is almost always delayed, once it got going it was fine. Pandora or Netflix streaming was almost instant to start on mine and almost always delayed on his.
