just tried that on my S20 FE.  I forced NR B71 in my house, but the speed was about 1/2 of what I normally get on B2.  NR B41 did not find anything. Interesting.

Does your phone allow SA NR? The n71 channel is likely smaller than the B2 channel, and if it's used much at all likely produces slower speeds. n41 may not support SA NR just yet in your area, it's still most useful when it has an anchor LTE band.

Thanks - Galaxy S9 I tried it, but that app only gives me the setting I already am using.  Yes several choices in the app. but all roads lead to what I manually have done.  The band selector fails.

When you open the app, select "Launch Band Selection." That will open a menu that likely looks familar. Now, swipe from the left, or tap the menu bar at the top. Select "Band Selection" again. This will show you all of LTE and NR bands your phone is capable of receiving. Select the band(s) you want, then toggle "Selection" on the top right. Apologies if you already tried that, but it sounded like you only got to the first menu.

Looks like I've picked up ~40 keep sites in just this area so far, and not a ton of different routes taken.

Yeah we've identified a ton of keep sites either via PLMN or via actual work permits that T-Mobile has applied for. They're all mapped out in another thread. I appreciate the data you've shared! Service is already pretty good on T-Mobile, should be really good once they have n71 on most and n41 on all sites.

Is there any chance you can repost that map with the enbs in Hex mode?
Edit: Didn't realize I could sort by the keep PLMN on cell mapper!

To add, holy cow the Verizon mmWave build is bonkers here. I can't go anywhere without seeing their small cells on every block.

It is absolutely nuts! I'm seeing new mmWave sites basically every week, and it's been that way for months.

I caved in and switched to T-Mobile. Signal  quality has been a sick joke in Bellevue south of Hwy 370.  I am a premium member and seek tower info in Nebraska.

Might have been better off sticking with a Sprint SIM for now. Sprint still has the larger network in Nebraska, though T-Mobile has been quickly permitting Sprint sites for conversion over the last month or two. Nebraska/Iowa information is in the same place it has always been.

Also, for new Sprint SIMs that are not TNX SIMs, will those need to be changed out to a New T-Mobile SIM once the Sprint network is completely decommissioned and New T-Mobile is in place?

New phones that have Sprint SIMs installed are still using the T-Mobile network as the base network, so I don't believe any changes would be necessary. That said, once the Sprint network is totally gone there would be no reason to hold onto the Sprint SIM.

If one gets a new SIM card with a new phone purchase (as mentioned in my original post, such as Best Buy providing on Sprint's behalf or requesting it through the My Sprint app), will it be the Sprint SIM by default? (that is, if you don't request a specific type?)  Do TNX SIM cards need to be specifically requested?

I upgraded several phones recently and all came with a Sprint SIM installed and a TNX SIM in a box on the side. So for the time being, if you order your upgrade through Sprint it is still coming with a Sprint SIM installed, but they include a TNX SIM as well if you want it.

My wife's phone shows 312-530 frequently and it's definitely on Sprint.

Best I can tell, based on reports here and on Reddit, that is the PLMN for Sprint sites that are still accessible but are not likely to be keep sites. Essentially native "roaming" at this point. Most Sprint lines have been pushed to TNA if you want it or not. Happened to my other lines that don't have 5G phones without me asking for them to do it.

I just turned that on, and it now shows 312530

Okay, then you are probably still Sprint-native.  If you were T-Mobile native, you'd be seeing 311-490 or 312-250.

312-530 is Sprint "roaming" sites. It's native coverage, but it's not a keep site and you only connect if there's little to no T-Mobile coverage. I get this occasionally in NE and KS, I'm on a 5G phone so technically T-Mobile but still a Sprint SIM (TNA).

T-Mobile appears to be actively migrating Sprint "hold outs" over to the T-Mobile network (via TNA).

My wife has a Pixel 3a that we never bothered to add TNA to since it lacks 5G. Recieved an email stating: "Welcome to our combined bigger, better network...One or more lines on your account have recently joined our combined network and now you can enjoy an enhanced experience." Checked her phone and sure enough she is now on TMobile B2.

For obvious reasons, this is clearly a necessary step to ease the transition to the new network.

I got that email too but all of my lines have been TNA since last fall so I was a little confused.

Interestingly, before I did TNX I never had N71 NSA (NOT SA), but now I do.  From searching this seems to be a fluke, but that certainly is a good improvement I didn't expect.  I know SA is a TNX benefit, but I wasn't seeing NSA on N71 before, only N41.

That is pretty strange. I wonder if something was accidentally turned off in some random update that was turned back on when your profile was updated by moving over to TNX.

When you guys gets a voicemail, do you get the notification from the dial-in voicemail AND the visual voice mail. If you deal with the visual voice mail, you STILL have to call into the dial-in voicemail to get rid of the notification? It's happening on both my phone S21 Ultra and my wife's S21+. Super duper annoying. Is there any fix or work around??

Haven't had a voicemail since I got the phone... so not sure. I'll try to note if I do ever get one haha.

In Denver over the weekend and there's a significant amount of n41 here at either 60 or 80 MHz. Catch is, they have 5 MHz channels on B2 and B66 that get aggregsted rather often

I noticed that when I was there in March. Was on an 80Mhz n41 channel but the anchor bands sucked. On the other hand, also recorded my fasted ever speed at 700Mbps on the neighboring site near Evans and Monaco.

Also saw B25 (PCS-G) aggregated with B41 (2 CA) for the first time ever, as 312-250

B25 + 41 + 41 cropping up here in Omaha on the Sprint keep sites. Had never seen that either until now.

If so, yes, i had "5G" from the start but it required the anchor band.  I never saw n71 (5G-BR 600 in signal check).  You have seen n71 from the start, with no anchor band needed?

That's stand alone 5G, or SA 5G, which yes is something TNA doesn't have. But there's not currently a major benefit for SA 5G unless you consistently spend a lot of time on a fringe B71 signal where SA n71 would make a difference. I have no use for that at the present, n71 is much more usable with the anchor 20x20 AWS band here.

I remembered something else that came with TNX....SMS messages now show Sent >> Delivered in Textra where as before they only showed Sent which has made me wonder what is happening on the network level that tmobile knows this and why sprint could never do it.  I do not have RCS.

Not sure why that would be... RCS has been enabled on Sprint devices for a long time... and I still see sent/delivered/read/typing messages even though I'm on TNA.

I found this interesting upgrade last week. I thought this site had B12 before but I didn't log it on Cellmapper if it did so not 100% sure, but the site is now mid-band only with B2, B41, B66, N41. T-Mo is very dense here so low-band is probably not needed.

    Before:

    zcnxPZ8.png

    Now:

T-Mobile's network in this small area: (T-Mobile in red, Sprint keep sites in green)

Not 100%, but fairly certain those antennas don't support B12, so likely never had low band.
