  1. At some point over the weekend, T-Mobile bumped the Omaha metro from 100+40 to 100+90 of n41! That's a pretty large increase from what we had just a few weeks ago when we were sitting at 80+40Mhz. Out of curiosity, tested a site on my way to work and pulled 1.4Gpbs. That's the fastest I've ever gotten on T-Mobile! For those that know Omaha, this was on Dodge street in Midtown so not exactly a quiet area!

  2. Drove from Omaha to KC this weekend. There were a number of n41 sites that previously only had 50 or 50+20Mhz on air and didn't allow for the n41 channel to be the primary channel on SA NR. As of this past weekend (probably sometime last month) all of them had 100 + at least 40Mhz of n41 and had n41 as the primary channel. A couple of them had 100+90. The network in KC was also increased to 100+90 since the last time I was here, giving a total of 15 n71, 20 + 5 n25, 100 + 90 n41. Pulled 1.2Gbps on a random site at 5pm Saturday afternoon.

A SCP beta update is rolling out now.. it includes more adjustments to site note features including saving notes and displaying neighbor notes.

My notes are back! As always appreciate your work! If I knew anything at all about how it all worked I'd offer to help haha

What do you all think of UI 6.1 on the S23?

I haven't really noticed any significant differences. I declined as much of the AI stuff as I could.

So far all my notes have returned!

Hmm. Mine are still missing. They do show up on single sector and band situations, but are otherwise missing. Just updated to One UI 6.1 and made sure SCP was updated as well.

Yes actually, I was wondering if I had somehow deleted them. But the majority of the sites I'm sure I had notes for are blank now.

That's not good. Please back up your log databases in case an app bug is doing something to erase your existing notes.. with the changes made in that version, I suspect it's more of a search query issue, but it can't hurt to be safe. Strangely I'm not seeing the same issue myself.

Could you send me 1) screenshots of instances where notes are missing, a 2) backups of your log databases? PM or email is fine.

Well... I tried to send an email but Gmail doesn't seem to want to send. Never seen that before, just sitting "queued." It may have sent twice now... Lol.

More info... drove out to central Nebraska and back, hit some new sites that I know never had notes on them. Added a note, but as soon as it switched bands or sectors, the note disappeared. It seems the note is tied to that specific band AND sector rather than sharing it across the same GCI/NCI. Hopefully that means the notes that are "missing" are just because I was on the wrong band or sector!

  7. I posted this in the Nebraska Premier thread last week, but just wanted to share in this thread the progress that T-Mobile has made in filling in the great coverage gap known as Nebraska. Between late last year and this year, they have added 28 new expansion sites filling in the coverage hole, plus 11 Sprint site conversions in eastern Nebraska and far western Iowa. Notably, in the last month n41 coverage was added on over a dozen expansion sites in western Nebraska that were added to the network last year.

For comparison, here is the very first map that I created in October of 2022 after we noted expansion sites outside of Sprint conversion in Lincoln and Omaha. It doesn't show any western parts of the state, but just know there was nothing besides roaming coverage and a little B12 coverage leaking down from South Dakota to the west of Valentine, NE.

On a related note, I did some diving the through the FCC documents for the AEHC. I couldn't find any that indicated they validated it for NR100+NR90 (just NR100+NR50+LTE20+LTE20). This makes me think we will only see the NR100+NR90 channels in Ericsson markets.

100+80 works in Nokia markets though (e.g. here).

Yeah I was going to say, we have 100+80 in Nokia markets. We also have 20+20, 30+20, 40+20, 40+40, 50+20, 50+30, 50+40, 80+20, 80+40, 100+40. All NR41 combinations that I have seen in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri.

Has anyone had an issues with site notes disappearing since the last beta update?  I'd say at least 9 out of 10 site notes are now blank in the app, both for 5G and 4G sites.  It started with 4.831b.

Yes actually, I was wondering if I had somehow deleted them. But the majority of the sites I'm sure I had notes for are blank now.

I took an interstate route to an event them a divided highway/ two lane road back.  It dawned on me that T-Mobile likely has fewer band 41 sites than Sprint, especially away from interstates.

Maybe this is a regional thing... but T-Mobile has way more B/n41 sites than Sprint ever did across Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado and Oklahoma. Including quite a bit of rural coverage that Sprint never touched.

Another possibility is to divide up NSA and SA with one getting 100MHz and the other getting 80MHz or the remainder. Some people on Reddit have reported seeing this.  I may have seen it, but did not test it well enough to comment yet.

Anywhere that has less than 80MHz on n41 doesn't allow for it to be the primary carrier on SA out here, but allows for it to CA with n25 and n71. That's why you don't see n41 on any western Nebraska or Northeast Colorado sites on Cellmapper. They're all 50+30, 40+40, 20+40, or something like that. At least they were. n41 was there, but was never the primary carrier. But still allowed to operate as 3 or 4xCA while in SA mode. Not sure if that's what you meant, but that's what I've seen on some very rural sites that appear to be using all the spectrum available at the time.

I may take my Air 3 and grab some pics of the tower that I live a mile away from, just for curiosity.  I am sure there is a more appropriate place to post pics like that, if I do grab them.. or would this be the best thread?

Here is probably fine, or you could use the Alabama thread if you want, hasn't had a ton of activity lately.

Nope they're not using it but it could be used for n26 or Band 26.

I saw T-Mobile running B26 LTE in northeast Colorado this weekend driving between Omaha and Denver. I have no idea why.... but it was there.

    What markets might be effected?

Most markets are affected to some degree, more rural areas where Sprint/Clear didn't focus on WiMax/B41 seeing the biggest boost.

  15. I haven't put a lot of research into the S24 line this year, haven't had a lot of time for it. Is there anything really upgrade worthy on the S24 Ultra over the S23 Ultra? Best Buy is offering a decent trade in (since T-Mobile wants me to change plans to upgrade) but it really doesn't seem like all that much changed, and I don't really care about the Galaxy AI stuff.

Speaking of refarms, I've seen two n25 channels in a number of places recently.

I've run into multiple n25 carriers in quite a few places. Usually it's the 5x5 G-Block becuae it's isolated and then something else random at 15 or 20x20. Leaving 10x10 or so on LTE. Have yet to see any n66 anywhere. Seems like they have at least 20x20 B66 running so probably keeping that as the wide LTE carrier for as long as possible.

Phone now upgraded.  TM still claims update 'not ready.' Samsung said I needed to go to a Samsung Authorized Repair Facility.  In San Diego County those are only a few and all in Best Buy stores (in the coastal strip}.

Once there, they fixed it in only a few swipes.  Took the whole drive back into the East County before it was done- but felt good when at home and up to date!

I don't understand why a store had to upgrade it? It should have been pushed out to your phone nearly two months ago when they pushed it to everyone else.

December 18th and still no Android 14 here...  Just where are you folk getting it?  My phone claims it is up to date with 13!

It automatically downloaded over a month ago? You have an S23 Ultra? T-Mobile branded or unlocked? I have no idea why you wouldn't have gotten it yet. My Tab S9 has already gotten the update.

Do wait and just get the 24 because it's so close and they may possibly give more for the 20 (or could be less hence the question)

I suspect the trade in for the Note 20 won't go up any higher, but I'm really not sure. I was very surprised at how *little* they offered to trade in my S21 Ultra. I think Samsung was offering like $300 at the time of the S23 Ultra launch. Best Buy bumped it to like $400, but it wasn't even half the cost so I'm surprised they're even offering $500 for the Note 20 at the moment.
