So far, seems a little snappier beyond the usual refresh of multiple reboots.  I like the addition of space on the notification bar without the "LTE" and spinning icon.

 

The only glitch I've seen is that the unread badge would never clear from the HTC Messaging app icon on the home screen.  I re-installed Textra, and that issue seems resolved now.

Yep. I guess all my checks for it wore down the update servers. ????

Saw this via Google Now, and found it to be a succinct summary of Sprint and the recent developments since Son/Claure took over.  Maybe not news to some, but I liked the historical context:

From my experience here in Charlottesville I have noticed great improvement since December. Band 41 has been deployed in a few places throughout town and I don't see as much fallback to 3G.

Ditto for me. I have also been on B41, although SCP doesn't recognize it well enough to label it as such. The engineering screen and knowledge that cell IDs of 01A** or 01B** are B41-capable has indicated such. No CA, though I've seen 2nd carrier (on B25) sometimes. My drop back to 3G has become extremely rare at this point.

Side note: I still cannot get my wife's GS5 to "see" the 4G locally. It has done fine on native Sprint 4G elsewhere. We were told at the local affiliate repair store that "it's too soon to switch" the phone over to CDMA/LTE until conversion and optimization are complete. *rolleyes*

As is said over and over, depends on what you want in your phone. The M9 is superior for music with those front-facing speakers.

There is no CA on B25,  its reporting the second carrier..

Have you tried reprovisioning your phone?

Just did - no dice. Even threw in another profile update, toggled airplane mode, switched to CDMA only and back to LTE/CDMA. Nothin'

 

Guess I'll take it into the Sprint store to see if they can work some magic on it.

Slight derail of thread:

 

I have been closely tracking LTE implementation on my HTC M9.  However, my wife's GS5 will NOT connect to the new nTelos LTE anywhere here.  It's perfectly fine on Sprint 4G outside of nTelos-land.  I've done numerous profile updates, restarts, airplane mode toggles, and reported in through Sprint Zone a couple of times, as well.  I'm wondering if there's some kind of glitch in the system recognizing her SIM or whatever.  Can anyone shine some light on this?

Things are still evolving here, judging by my experience driving around C'ville today. When I dropped to 3G, the transition time from eHRPD to EVDO was much quicker, without even exceeding the buffer in my Spotify app. I even transitioned back to LTE without the need for any kind of toggle.

 

Not sure if this am's mysterious service update is making any difference. (Anyone have a guess as to what that does?)
