Thanks for the idea. No such setting in either the stock HTC Messages app or in Mighty Text. So for grins, I texted this in reply:
If there's a human there, I'm curious about these messages when I reboot my phone
and received this prompt reply:
If you have received this unexpectedly, please reply STOP to end.
Fun diversion on this lazy Sunday :-P

I've enjoyed using Mighty Text, which makes my tablet a satellite device for my phone over a shared Wi-Fi network for texting. I've noticed that every time I reboot my phone, Mighty Text reports receiving a text like this:
//LL:1563:1440525406879:0R0:X:guVAtqIJAk0DjRyQlxctDmMbmMk=:XXXXXXXXX:195O8N0Z6459VS02LDQXO9WAU9MVKLAV
or
//LL:1563:1440510661294:A5B:X:rkS8 TO6q4p5fzUNLlTxFKQsBQk=:XXXXXXXXX:KRRQUVZARSM7ND4F385ZOP6WTXP7S9FZ
The format is the same, but the content varies. It always includes my number (which I've disguised with X's). Nothing on the phone itself. I suppose it has something to do with a kind of handshake with the network. Anyway, I'm curious as to what this nerdy mumbo-jumbo means, and figured one of you might know.
TIA,
David

So, is it Monday (the 17th) or the 18th? :-D
(yes, we are THAT desperate)

I agree with waiting. A name change, if it happens, should be celebratory, not desperate

". . . I don't think it's a major necessity right now, especially in nTelos land just bring ANY LTE to us and we will be more than happy."
Amen!!

Wow, this is SO exciting! It'll take what will feel like forever, but it'll be great eventually!

The map is a little confusing to me. The existing coverage in light blue, I assume, is nTelos' current 3G coverage which will be converted to 4G. The light blue also includes Shentel's current native coverage. The orange blobs are planned additions. I'm assuming those are the 150 new sites. Is this correct?

So, are you saying that Shentel's fiber business will likely supply the backhaul?

Any info you're free to share regarding what's happening where will be wildly appreciated! I'm thinking of timelines for specific areas - C'ville (my personal fav), etc.I work for Shentel

Maybe on one of the sponsor threads?

The primary benefit is for us Sprint folks who live in nTelos-land. We will FINALLY get 4G service, which we've NEVER had before (unless we traveled elsewhere). It will take time - I read in one of those links that this deal doesn't close till early 2016 - and there's backhaul to get. However, Shentel was fast and thorough in upgrading their network, so it will be a quality product at the end. I'm hoping that maybe this project is on a slightly faster track, coming on the heels of the recent visit to Japan. :-DSo how exactly does this help sprint?
Do they have nationwide something that sprint can use?

I sometimes get "Attempting HD" when placing a call on my M9, but haven't experienced it as far as I know.

What, no special shout-out to those of us in nTelos-land? ;-)

On the contrary soccer is a massively expanding sport in the US. Just look at how many third division teams are popping up that are getting thousands of people in attendance and new expansion cities like OCSC bringing out tens of thousands of supporters in their first few seasons and now MLS. Add big money talking for new third and second division teams or mounting interest in the USMNT and woman's national team it'd hard to not see that soccer will be the next big sport with huge rewards if you invest early.

To say nothing of the interest and emotional(/monetary, too?) investment in soccer by the Latino community! A tremendous future market.

Is that specifically for the Roanoke area, or maybe broader in nTelos-land??Just confirmed LTE Launch in nTelos land this Fall. That's really all I believe I can say.

It would be great to get information regarding all of the area covered by nTelos if possible. Thanks a lot for your help!

+1If your CD player is up high near the the dashboard then try the Mountek nGroove. You can find it on Amazon. It takes up the CD slot but who listens to cds anymore lol. I have used it for 3 years and it's the best one I've ever used.

So, I'm hearing conflicting info here, which just adds to my frustration. Any legitimate classifications will be welcomed! (Especially pertaining to timing)

Nice try, everyone! Too bad we can't get any information. The data capacity has seemed even worse than usual. Hard to stream music on 1x! Sometimes, it's spotty even on EV-DO.

Any work on whether this update will bring us the reported slow charging bug, or maybe even a fix?
(I tweeted this question to @moversi, just in case he would respond to a peon like myself)

Interestingly, my normal language reply and that last response both appear on the phone, but not the previous "tech-ese" messages.
