Still waiting to see how this impacts my day-to-day wireless experience. I've been having more dropped calls lately, even in wifi calling. Don't know if it's this network changeover, just general internet congestion, or the third party service I'm using for work . . .

Trying to figure out what this will mean in C'ville. TMo has historically had terrible coverage here (I believe). Will TMo merely switch over existing Shentel towers?
-
I've seen zero change in signal quality here in Shentel-land (C'ville), fortunately. I'm changing nothing until I have to.

That’s where I’m actually located at is in Charlottesville, VA. Went to the TMO Store at Fashion Square to switch out my Sprint Sim for the TMO TNX Sim. Haven’t really noticed to much different in quality yet at least.
Really? I'm afraid of losing Shentel's network quality if I switch SIMs.

Anyone else in the Shentel Market (esp in Central Virginia) get a email about TNX?
This is what was in the email.

Nope, not here in C'ville, at least not yet

So, she went to an Apple store for the phone (Boston). She says they have her a Sprint SIM card, but she hasn't needed it, maybe because of TMobile, and she's getting better coverage than her boyfriend's Verizon phone. I suggested she keep the SIM to use in areas like here where TMobile is bad.

My daughter's (Sprint) iPhone 6S is dying, and she asked me to day if she should just go to T-Mobile for an updated phone. I suggested that she first consult with her sister who also has an iPhone (and has wrangled good deals), and maybe do it online via Sprint's web site.
Any suggestions to add or instead of this plan in these in-between times?

Is that recommended for us in Shentel territory? Would that smoothe the transition?

And still no resolution to the status of Shentel (and us customers on that network)?

What would happen to us Sprint customers under each of those options?

Yes to both. Just returned home after being away for a few days, and connected to Sprint B25 as usual.

This is why I hope that Shentel remains our regional network manager . . .

I have noticed that when I return home, my Pixel is connected to T-Mobile (usually 600). The speeds are terrible. I can toggle airplane mode and regain connection to Sprint's 800 or 2600, and the speed picks up.

Pixel 3a on Sprint here . . .

I'm in Shentel area, but no such text (yet?). Just updated network config, too, with no (immediate) result.

Ok, I think I've found the answer. I had WiFi calling preferred in Mobile network settings. When I changed to Mobile preferred, it all came back in SCP. It almost appears that modem info is cut off, or at least curtailed, when WiFi calling is preferred.
This is significantly different than on my HTC U11 before.
PS - how awesome that with Pixel, no waiting on the carrier for update!

This morning, I noticed a notification regarding one of those mysterious "carrier updates", and 1x now appears with WiFi connected.

Got Android 10 this afternoon. So nice to not have to wait on Sprint for a major update! 😁

Updated my Sprint Pixel 3a (stock) to Android 10 today. Since then, when connected to WiFi, the phone data meter in SCP is blank and the notification icon shows only LTE without the band as it had before. O believe the new is is affecting some phone modem reporting, but it could be some stupid setting that I've messed up.
Please advise
Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't change it. I'm beginning to think it's intentional, possible a battery saving strategy?

Just got my Sprint 3a at BB last week ($100 off for the upgrade from my HTC U11!). I am noticing in SCPro that it drops to 1x whenever I'm on WiFi and/or WiFi calling. I wouldn't complain, except that it sometimes seems hesitant to reconnect to LTE afterwards. I Googled this, and it seems to be a problem despite carrier. Anyone here notice this? Any ideas/suggestions for a fix?
TIA!

. . . Also I see wifi calling in the app when only connected to wifi(Wifi+[null]) and nothing connected to something else and Wifi(Wifi+LTE or WiFi+cdma).
Aha! This explains my issue.

I'm wondering if those of us in Shentel territory are behind the curve in this process, given the changes in that acquisition.
