  1. Given how well Shentel updated their network, I'd certainly be pleased with that outcome! I just have no knowledge of the substantive or procedural details involved. Sent from my Tapatalk 4.9.5 :-D
  2. Rumor du jour - corporate store (seemingly knowledgeable) rep says that nTelos is to be sold by November. Also, he claims that only Sprint can purchase assets here (ie, west of Richmond) due to spectrum. Some nTelos stores here in C'ville are closing. Discuss among yourselves. :-) Sent from my Tapatalk 4.9.5 :-D
  3. Got it. I'm astounded that flashlight still isn't available on the pull down toggles. Guess I'll keep Power Toggles around. :-) Sent from my Tapatalk 4.9.5 :-D
  4. Some recent rumors have sounded like the larger "plus" version comes out somewhat later this year. Not sure I could wait that long to see if it's too big for me. I'd rather replace my M7 sooner! :-D Sent from my Tapatalk 4.9.5 :-D
  5. That's the extreme western extent of native Sprint here. I haven't driven through that area lately, but SC Pro has yet to give the audible alert for LTE. I did drive to Staunton this weekend, and didn't get any LTE through Waynesboro, either, even though the map shows some spotty LTE there. Sent from my Tapatalk 4.9.5 :-D
  6. All of us in nTelos land are all about keeping our hopes up! ;-) Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4.9.5 :-D
  7. (I looked and did not see another users thread, so started this one.) Just replaced my aged HP TouchPad (that was running CyanogenMod) with a Samsung Tab 4 (2014) 10.1. I wanted another large tablet for surfing, etc in the evenings, and maybe start up reading Kindle books again, too. Seems quick and smooth after the TP, and the display (while not the latest/greatest) is also an improvement. I was taken aback by how smoothly and quickly the Google update of all my apps and data happened! I had looked at the new Nexus 9, but couldn't swallow the price, given the reports of light bleed, running hot, feeling a little flimsy, etc. I'll have to wait for Lollipop when it comes to my M7, or when I get my new M9, whichever comes first!
  8. We have a family plan with 5 smartphones with unlimited everything (mins, texts, data) for 240 (excluding taxes, insurance for one, etc). It was originally 1500 shared mins, but I recently got the unlimited upgrade offered to long-term subscribers.
  9. Yeah, I've also (briefly) considered a change from Sprint, but the availability of 4G and increases in data speeds don't warrant the huge increase in cost. I'm able to stream music most of the time without problem, and no one else in my family has any problem with their data needs being met. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4.9.5 :-D
  10. This is tempting, but we're still on a shared unlimited data plan for 5 lines that still has phone subsidies for $240. So, I figure that $20/mo to subsidize 5 phones is worth it as long as we replace every 21 months to 2 years.
  11. Also, 810 is mentioned in some of the M9 rumors.
  12. Nah, still too early in the 90-day window. Also, there were some bugs in the Nexus rollout, so we don't know if that could delay it some.
  13. At this point, my old unlimited data plan is still a good enough deal, and the 3G service (mostly) adequate, so I don't feel a tremendous need to leave Sprint. And, the hope of some 4G coming helps. I still hope that there might be some upgrading of the backhaul, though the news so far is not encouraging in that regard. *sigh*
  14. After a year and a half, my M7 was getting a little laggy and battery performance was slipping. I was looking at possible replacements, and read again about rejuvenation from a factory reset, so I tried that for the first time. A good opportunity to reevaluate what apps were really needed and those I could do without. Not being familiar with restoration from a backup, it took some time to recreate things. The payoff: much snappier and battery is WAY better. This will help me feel OK until more definitive info on the M9 comes out. :-D
  15. Yeah, welcome to our world of nTelos-land! ;-) I'm rooting for a buyout sooner, not later. We'll see . . .
  16. Loaded apk smoothly. I discovered I had disabled the Sprint Installer - maybe that was my problem. Sent from my HTC One on Tapatalk
  17. Hey, gr8, Can you please elaborate on how you did this? Doable on stock non-rooted phone? TIA
  18. Yeah, it won't load on my M7, either. I get a "Sprint Zone update has been cancelled" message. Not sure if that's referring to the process on my phone or the whole she-bang.
