  1. Just saw this on Google Now: http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-cto-stephen-bye-resigns-company-amid-new-network-densification-progr/2015-06-23 Well this have any significant impact? Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  2. Yeah, I hear some folks are hoping for a significant radio update with 1.40 or 5.1 Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  3. Was in Harrisonburg yesterday for something, and really enjoyed Shentel's LTE service there. The handoff from nTelos-land to Shentel was seamless - barely a hiccup in my music streaming on I-81. However, going home was a completely different story!! Upon leaving Shentel's area around Weyers Cave, I dropped signal altogether. I tried toggling Mobile Data off/on several times, airplane mode several times, etc. No dice. Had the No CDMA service indication. Finally rebooted my phone around Waynesboro, and it finally got back on nTelos. Not sure if this reflects on the network or my M9, but it was quite disappointing. *sigh*
  4. What's to fix?! They're raking in money hand over fist by abusing the relationship with their customers!
  5. Here in nTelos-land, I can't predict whether I'll be on 1xRTT or EVDO when traveling along the very same commute. Occasionally, I can toggle mobile data off-on, and it MAY switch, but not always. Is this a response to load, or something else? Just trying to understand - it fills the time till the upgrade happens. :-) TIA David Sent from my HTC One M9 on Tapatalk
  6. Glad to help out! Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  7. So, I'm thinking that the best demonstration project for this would be supporting Shentel in re-doing the nTelos network! :-P Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  8. Those of us in nTelos-land will shoulder the burden! :-P Sent from my HTC One M9 on Tapatalk
  9. In the C'ville area (probably comparable), I've had no problems streaming music on 3G (EVDO). The problem comes when you're bumped down to 1xRTT tech sometimes. Then it's problematic. Sent from my HTC One M9 on Tapatalk
  10. I completely agree, Trip. However, that sentiment depends on the continuity of Shentel's relationship with Sprint. Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  11. Had no network connection at all late AM in C'ville. I ignored the phone's suggestion of changing to "Automatic" several times, then gave in. It seemed happier then, but maybe because I was on the move and it found a good signal. Feels like living without a foundation!
  12. Ok! Downloading 876 MB update - probably 5.02 :-D Sent from my HTC One M9 on Tapatalk
  13. Still nothin' Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  14. *sigh* (again) Oddly, I've been connecting to a Sprint 1x800 tower well east of town (Louisa) at times. It seems again that the nTelos signal is shaky enough that my phone tries to connect so far away. Given this latest map news, I may have to resort to CDMA only again to save battery and help alleviate my poor M9's confusion. the only silver lining is that my phone IS able to make such a connection. I can only imagine how well it will do once there is a solid local 4G signal!
  15. I'm having to use the CDMA/LTE setting judiciously, as it eats up battery. I guess my M9 is trying to connect, or "seeing" something that it tries to connect to for 4G. Hopefully, when it does go live, using LTE won't be so hard on the battery. Sent from my HTC One M9 on Tapatalk
  16. Ok, I'm "officially" switching over to CDMA/LTE and waiting for the lovely sound of those SCPro alerts! (Please don't break my heart!) Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  17. I got another brief connection with a Sprint 1x800 tower, and the BSL address I recognized from one of those far east of C'ville. I believe it was due to a brief interruption in nTelos service where I was at the time. It's impressive how far 800 can travel - this was probably about 15 mi away.
  18. Can I just share how EXCITING this all sounds?! (Thanks)
  19. Aww, don't be a Debbie Downer! ;-) Yes, the quality would very likely be top-notch, given how well Shentel had down elsewhere. Sent from my HTC One M9 on Tapatalk
  20. Whoa! That's cool Sent from my HTC One M9 on Tapatalk
  21. I like the populist tone - good strategy these days
  22. Well, I've been checking manually, and no update . . . :-( Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  23. Yeah, *soon*! :-) Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  24. Well, it looks like this tower: Sprint Market: Southern Virginia Site ID: RI72XC006 NV Complete: 3G/800 OEM: ALU RF Switch: RIC-RICHMOND-MSC_1 Loc: 37.9958,-78.2818 Newadds: Toycell: is only about 13 or 14 mi east of my work. It's the closest Sprint tower to me. Maybe this is what I received? I'm not able to decipher the ID data and correlate it with SCPro info. Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
  25. Is it possible that signal could have been picked up in the absence of the stronger usual signal? That is, the tower close by was offline or something due to work (upgrade??) Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends
