  1. Sometimes I need to do a reboot to get GPS to work. Also, I've never seen an LTE signal that strong before. Jealous.

Never seen one at a -78. There are a few towers here that I had as low as -61

  2. No clue, I haven't taken the ND8 update yet even though every morning my phone tells me to update.  If your wanting to know the PCI and TAC you can dial *#0011# from the dialer which will give you LTE info goodies.

Yea I know that information. Was just hoping SCP would do it cause I was going to download it on my wife's phone and use the logger to check tower information.

    Thanks though for the help.

  3. I guess your playing a game of Russian roulette when taking the ND8 update.  Some users are reporting the exact opposite and are hanging on to LTE in places where they use to not have it as well as a stronger 3G/voice connection.

It almost sounds as if Samsung adjusted the scan times for LTE as well as made adjustments to hand back off to eHRPD/EV-DO when your in fringe areas of LTE to save battery life.

Yea that is the debate i have. With KK does SCP report the GCI & PCI now?

  4. Yes. Now that you've said it can be solved by turning off b26, I really don't want to if b26 is about to be launched here. Lol

I'm seeing these issues on my g2, also. Lots of data drops, and a dead 3g connection occasionally. I even roamed on Verizon evdo for a minute earlier today which I've never seen before. Currently, Chicago is slowly rolling out b26, so the stories line up. I refuse to disable b26, though. :)

I only had mine off for about a week or so. Since turning it back on I have no had those issues. I couldn't handle loosing data for about 2 minutes. I know three people in my market that had the same issue with their G2 and when they disabled B26 it fixed issue and they have since also turned it back on.

  5. Anyone else getting experiencing the lack of data connectivity while on the go? It's likely a CSFB issue but I've noticed a lot of the time my phone will find a 3G signal but it won't be able to grab a data connection through it until like two minutes later. It can be frustrating when you're enjoying music on the go and the music stops because the stream can't go on. My father's s3 doesn't have the problem but I'm not sure if it's because of csfb or LGs radio configuration. I'm tempted to try out an AOSP ROM to see if the issue goes away.

I experienced this very same thing today on a LG G2, seems like airplane mode toggle sped up the scan. I have a sneaking suspicion B26 with lack of eCSFB might be causing some weirdness..

If this is the same issue I had it was due to my market prepping for B26. I disabled B26 and I stopped losing data drops. Are you getting where LTE goes to no bars then a red X and then 3G?

  6. Just got b26 again, but this time in Troy, MO. Even at - 110 to - 120 dB I got 6.35 down and 1.22 up. I an beyond impressed with this. I recently lost my sponsorship status (it expired) and haven't had time to donate again to check the tower, so I can't say what tower it is. But I doubt there are many out here. ehuvudy5.jpg

By any chance did you pick up the B25 out do you have the site logger doing going?

  7. Ok I am pretty tech saavy and I cannot get my G2 to update. It downloads and goes to install but immediately reboots and stays on 4.2.2

Any ideas how to fix this?

    Assuming you are completely stock?

  8. Then that is your issue.. :/ People found some temporary fixes, but nothing perminant.

I know it is my issue. Missouri market is still turning up sites and now with B26 firing up I need lte only if I want a chance at streaming due to ecsfb.

  9. So I took my phone off the charger this morning about 3 something. I checked my battery at about 5:45am  and my phone had already lost 12% with no streaming or screen usage in that time (I was sleep). Google Services was at 66% usage on my battery. Anybody else had any issues lately with Google Services?

  10. I'll try to make a point to actually go into union sometime then. Do you need me to connect to a particular tower? I know where they're both at (opposite sides of town).

Edit: I'm actually in Washington more than anything. LTE flies certain places (25mb down or higher), it even stayed around 15mb last Saturday when there were 500 down at the lake taking prom photos.

If you can post screen shots from all the towers you get LTE in Washington and Union that would be great.

  11. Here's the screen shot you asked for. It barely stayed long enough to grab itxD. If you need anything below the PN line I grabbed shots of those also. Just let me know.

Edit: also what exactly is the PN? I tried searching and couldn't find an answer. Now I feel dumb...

The next you are in Union can you give us a screen shot of SCP if you are connect to LTE please?

  12. @mikejeep

Just curious. I keep seeing screenshots on other devices showing the Band they're connected to. Is that possible on the G2 or is there a software limitation? I use signal check pro and don't see any update or setting for it on the G2.

    Thanks

Mine does it sometimes. If I connect to B41 then drop to B25 it won't let go of the B41 in the Sprint Provider even though I'm on B25.

  13. Hmm. That's troubling. My other n5 did the same thing but I thought it was just jacked up. Do you know of a link that might describe the "flashing" process?

Before you start flashing radios please call Sprint and verify your SIM card is correct in their system.

  14. Refuses to recognize LTE. Allegedly no ecsfb issues exist here. Also, despite what anyone says, this phone cannot match the S4's RF performance. This is my second n5 and it doesn't even compare. At least not where I live, work and play.

I'm now thinking you have a SIM card issue. Do you know if they gave you the same SIM card? Also is this the same store that refuse to help you originally?

  15. Do I have to say something other than "I bought a used phone without a sim?"

I'm not sure how to tell if a store is a corporate store.

If you are in Cypress Texas like your profile says then this came up as the Corporate store nearest there.

  16. I didnt know b26 caused the ecsfb issues. no wonder i was stuck in 3g for two weeks were i used to get great LTE signal.

Exactly. I had did my homework prior to coming down there and was like I should have LTE and this and that. Got there on the 19th and was like wth. Forced LTE and connected to a bunch of B26 towers. If you can afford to go premier you can get a lot of information on those threads.

  17. I've had all bands enabled for a months, but havent updated the profile in a while. I did that and just picked up b26. My speeds went from 5 mbs to 28 down 8 up =)

however, it seems that after a few mins it goes back and forward to b25 and the slower speeds :(

Tampa is having ecsfb issues. I was there last week a couple times and had to force lte to get lte due to B26 ecsfb.

  18. I don't know of anyone with an N5. I like the g2 and I would have got the nexus of it wasn't for knock on and the ir blaster. Is there any way to change the threshold of when it connects to 1x 800? I think if that was fixed id be OK with it for awhile. I bet the nexus would work at my desk because I get a faint LTE right outside my door. I just want to stream all access all day long! I've been waiting for 800 LTE for 2 years and dang, what a disappointment. Also I've had this thing plugged into a 1amp charger pretty much all day since 6 and it only went from 10% to 80% now. Charger problem?

The OEM charger is 1.8 amps. If you are streaming or using your screen it really doesn't charge well.
