  1. I finally got one to work. Called sprint got my msl. Went in and changed band 26 and 41 priority to 1 and 25 to 0 so we'll see what I find between High Ridge, Fenton and Arnold if anything in the morning

Give you a heads up. My G2 had issues with B26 in the STL area. Granted we don't have it  yet my phone kept dropping signal. I disabled B26 and hasn't had that issue since.

I started the day still calling it Kiel Center my first Blues game with free Club Seats in a game filled with fights, i had another band 41 on Tucker or it may have been the same but i couldn't figure out the screenshot on the LG G Flex yet.

How did you do the first one?

  3. Battery life and charging has been good for me. ZVC rooted with all but Voicemail app as they came (so I haven't stripped or changed any apps or services) and 2nd day I had 31hr on battety with 5hr screen time. To charge from 6% to full took just under 2hr, I'm good with that. I can't really remember how long the charge took before but this is acceptable.

    Still no hidden menu?

  4. Best buy matches prices because when customers "save" money there instead of having to order online they're likely to buy cases and stuff in store. That's where they really make money.

Have you had any luck with your signal dropping since the other day?

  5. Yes, tot back, manually update to ZVA and then either take the ZVC OTA or sideloading is easy, I've done it like 10 times in the last 3 days.

I couldnt' find it either.... which was said but it is what it is. Maybe we'll be able to unlock it. :(

Seriously? You should have NO contacts on the phone itself.  Google, Android = Cloud based contacts.  Always add contacts to your gmail account and NEVER to phone.  If your phone get ran over, you lose nothing but time and money restoring apps on new device because your contacts are connected to your gmail account.

I see so many times on FB that friends say I lost all my contacts and this and that. I try and educate them on saving to their gmail account. Whoever they got their phones from I would hope would have advised them of how to properly setup their phone.

  6. I'm curious if you guys are having the same issues I have been having. I found that having B26 enabled was my issue. Try disabling B26 if it isn't available in your market (especially you kojitsari since you are in the same market as me). I haven't had the issue since on my G2.

  7. It is a step backwards when i have to give up 45+ fast b41 sites in a emerging market where there is often no lte, all because of the removal of hidden menu features

Does your market have eCSFB issues?

  8. I have a question. Somewhere on here recently this was posted:

" Not correct, it was accessible via dialer code 5689#*980# "

What's the purpose for this and if tinkered with can it be undone. I was reading through the most recent comments and I dialed the code to see the selection. When I tapped on one of the categories it said the test are already done and I believe it asked if I wanted to run it again so I tapped yes. Well it was an interactive tasks so I was there tapping the pass button but got burned out rather quickly so I pulled the notification menu down then clicked down and held the power button until it restarted. The only reason I did that is because I couldn't find a way to leave the diagnostics, there was no option given. :loco:

So here's the dilemma. Knock On has been disabled.

Any help is greatly appreciated. :thx:

The main reason I used this menu was to put my phone in LTE only for testing with ecsfb issues. I won't be upgrading until someone says they have stock root with it.

  9. So can it be set to LTE now?  Or does the "it was accessible" mean no longer.

If you took the Kit Kat update you can no longer access the hidden menu that allows you to set your phone to LTE mode only. Did that answer your question?

  10. Once rooted base is out, I'll slap hidden menu in there and see if the underlying hooks are still in there. They didn't put Hidden Menu in the Flex from the get go.

So are you saying once it is rooted we might get the hidden menu back?

  11. I've tried the google frameworks trick an insane amount of times but still no dice. I have tried just force stop, force stop and then clear data, force stop and clear both data and cache, force stop and just clear cache, force stop and wait 15 minutes and checked, force stop and cleared data and restart then checked but no such luck. I guess I will have to play the waiting fame like with the ZVA update.

On the up side, I am not too excited about the reports of losing the hidden menu. Also, I was hoping to see wifi calling, true split screen and better rf performance but it looks like none of that will be present. That kind of takes some of the excitement out of this update.

I'm not happy about losing the hidden menu either. I thought I was the only person that was bothered by this. LTE only helps with troubleshooting issues from time to time and I really don't want to give that up.

Yes this is true only if you have Google now open on the G2

  13. A couple of observations that I noticed from the update:

I did notice the snooze button on the alarm is moved.

I got an update from Google now telling when to leave to make my appointment time in my calender (I don't recall it doing that before.

Texting is a little different too.

This isn't new the notification of appointment times. I've been getting those. Did you use Google Now prior to kit kat?

  14. No, ADB sideloading (as it's called) has been around in Android for years.

Not any greater chance than installing the OTA.  The direct download link I posted on XDA is the exact file your phone would (eventually) download and install on its own.

Also, just keep in mind that if you install the update (either by sideloading or once your phone gets the update on its own), you may lose the ability to root your phone for some period of time (ie until a dev figures out a workaround).  So if root is critical to you, you may want to wait until the devs come up with a rooted ZVC firmware you can use.

I don't have my phone rooted. So is it as simple as downloading then clicking install? Never been into rooting so that is why I'm asking is there anything else I have to do other then downloading the zip file.

  15. Are the there any chances of bricking my phone if I do the direct download and install that way? Also can we see if anybody else can't do the lte mode only also?
